Private and secure studio cottage with pool in Dover near St. Lawrence Gap

Umi is a fully furnished, stand-alone cottage located next to Jahmoon, our vacation home in Dover. This is a walled, fully enclosed property at the far end of St. Lawrence Gap. Umi is surrounded by a flower garden with fruit trees. Very secure and convenient with a private pool.

Umi has one QUEEN-size bed that will sleep 2 comfortably. It's perfect for a couple and very popular with single females looking for a safe and secure spot near the sea. There is a ceiling fan as well as A/C and a spacious yard.

Free WIFI. No cable TV but there is a Roku device that allows access to Netflix, YouTube, etc. Internet speed is fast but we are subject to occasional outages from the service provider.

Washing machine free to use.
Shower only, no tub.
Security gates on all doors/windows.
Outdoors, there is dedicated patio seating for two.

We are located only 15 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from Sandals Barbados Resort. Dover Beach is a short walk away where you can enjoy water sports or just stretch out and relax.

Enjoy Barbados. The world's best beaches. Surf, snorkel, swim with turtles. Drink rum where rum was invented. Come meet some of the world's nicest people and let loose!

Vacation in Barbados

Great location, close to The Gap. Pool was very nice to cool down. Cottage had every thing we need for a comfortable vacation in Barbados. Ty was very helpful.

Wonderful

This is a great little hide away very quiet but close enough to everything that you can easily get around the island it is a 10 minute walk to the gap but the local bus stop is just a couple blocks away so for 3.50 a person you can be dropped off at any of the beaches on the south west or the other shopping areas Ty was always available for any questions we had and the WiFi was very good

Fabulous place

The cottage is great and in a great location near to bars/restaurants and beaches.Bus stop, supermarket, ATM and amazing beaches within minutes.Properly manager was on hand to answer and questions and give advice.We would definitely recommend and certainly return! Thank you Ty!

Great Little Cottage close to Dover Beach

We loved this cottage. It was a short walk to Dover beach with plenty of restaurants, stores, surf lessons and everything we needed. The pool was great and we had the whole place to ourselves. Ty was great to communicate with and we had no issues throughout the stay

Great stay at Dover, Barbados

My wife and I had an excellent time at Umi Cottage, albeit just for a week and would gladly return in the future. Walking distance to the beach is a huge bonus. Ty was very obliging and took care of small requests we had. Highly recommended for a ‘couple’ stay !

Restful and Relaxing

The two of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Umi Cottage. The pool was perfect for staying cool. The grounds were picturesque and well maintained. The covered deck was great for sitting outside and provided shade from the sun. The location was ideal for walking to beaches and restaurants. Also close to buses and taxis for exploring Barbados. The check-in process was smooth. Ty, the host, was always available for communication via email and WhatsApp.

Excellent Property

Umi Cottage is a lovely property to stay at. It is conveniently located in Dover and is a quick walk to the beach and buses, but just enough out of the way from the noise of bars and restaurants in the St. Lawrence Gap.The property is very well maintained and is securely gated and well lit. The flowers on the property are beautifulThe cottage is petite in size, however it has everything you need. It has a lovely covered porch with two sitting areas, access to laundry, a mini fridge and full sized fridge, a well equipped kitchen, a comfortable good sized bed and good storage. The bathroom has a full size shower and a hair dryer. There were plenty of towels and a great set of excellent quality large beach towels.It was wonderful to have access to a pool as the sea was a bit rough on a few days. It was nice to have a way to cool off.I felt that the property was priced very well.I had an opportunity to meet Ty and his wife who are both so kind and made me feel comfortable and welcome. I was provided with excellent instructions about the property and helpful hits for Barbados. This is an extremely well run/managed rental property. I would love to stay at Umi Cottage again. Thank you for allowing me to stay at your property!

Umi Cottage 💕

My husband and I stayed in Umi cottage and we throughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at the beginning of January 23. We have holidayed in Barbados on 3 occasions now and this has to be our favourite place. The cottage is small but we found it relaxing and provided everything that we needed. The location is perfect, close enough to St Lawrence Gap for bars and dining, we particularly liked Mimosa Restaurant overlooking the sea whilst eating a delicious Italian meal. Then a 15-20 minute stroll back to our delightful little holiday home after a lovely evening out. Umi Cottage is in walking distance to the beach 6-7 minutes although we preferred walking on a bit further to Maxwell where there was a reasonably priced beach cafe called Carib Bar. Miami Beach in Oistins was also lovely with lots of shade and a nice van/bar to get a rum punch. The outside area was secluded and having the use of the pool, although small was an added bonus. I learnt to snorkel for the first time before venturing out in the sea. Anne was very friendly, helpful and was easily contactable via WhatsApp if we needed any assistance.

Paradise!

My stay at Umi cottage was delightful. Umi is a small cottage but, very space efficient. I had everything I needed and the private swimming pool was like icing on the cake. The location was ideal, within walking distance to beaches, fine dining and public transport. I couldn't have asked for a better location. Ty was very easy to communicate with and very accommodating to my needs/requests. Ann, the caretaker/housekeeper was always easy to reach and very accommodating as well. I would recommend staying at Umi cottage to any couple or solo traveler. I feel very fortunate that I was able to secure Umi cottage during my travel dates and will definitely check on the availability when I return to Barbados.

Wonderful!!

Safe secure super clean and comfortable. Close to all the beaches and restaurants. Loved being able to do laundry. Lots of pantry items and property manager was prompt to respond to any questions we had. Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at Umi cottage ❤️ Very conveniently located to the bus stop as well. Thanks Ty for letting us stay at your guest house! We are coming back next year.

Great Location

Great location with in walking distance to all the amenities in the Gap. Ty was a great host and fixed a couple of issues we had in no time. The house has all that a couple or single person would need, it is very neat, tidy and safe. Ann the property manager is great and owns the "Sand Dollar" restaurant in the Gap which has great food. So enjoyed our two week stay at Umi cottage. The amenities were as stated. Bonus to have a washer and a large refrigerator. Our host Ty, although not on site had arranged for a friend to be our contact, Anne was attentive and also happened to own The Sand Dollar Cafe, great food. He also made sure that we were aware of where we could rent beach chairs and umbrellas, Charles Water Sports, and to check out Expressions Gifts. Dover beach soon became our little community. Lovely well equipped cottage close to all amenities-secure & private-loved it!

Lovely little cottage at the bottom of the garden-see photos-well equipped-had our meals outside on the decking. Lovely flowering trees-plenty of birds visit them. Close to bus stop for Oistins/Bridgetown. Bars/cafes beach 5 mins down the road. Would def go again!

Loved our stay!

Umi cottage is an updated, nicely equipped property. We found it clean and in great shape. We enjoyed the independence of staying where we could cook our own food, as restaurants can be very expensive in Barbados. Uncle Courtenay was responsive, bringing a couple supplies when we asked. Plus, we're not big on drinking, so all-inclusives can frustrate as I don't feel like we get our money's worth. Anyways, you'll enjoy your stay in the Umi cottage. Although it is small, it's in great shape and conveniently located. For some reason, we couldn't get the cable working on the tv, which may be our own fault, but it would have been nice to be able to catch a movie at night. I tried to get it to work a couple times, but gave up.

Loved our Cottage

The cottage was very neat and tidy. When we arrived there was some bottle water, soda, and bathroom condiments available so we didn't have to rush out to get supplies. It was so nice to be able to sit on the patio with your morning coffee enjoying the humming birds, little lizards and occasionally a green monkey. The location of the cottage was a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and all the restaurants on the GAP and there was plenty of lighting on the streets so if your out after dark it was safe to walk home. I would definitely stay in the cottage again if and when I were to go back to Barbados.

The location of this property is fantastic. So convenient to the beaches, airport, nightclubs and Bridgetown. Both Sandals Barbados and Turtle Beach resorts are right down the street but not so close to be noisy. Because it's a tourist zone, the area is well lit and monitored by police.

There's so much to do within walking distance! Bus stop is 1 minute away and taxi access is easy. Oistins is 10 minutes by car or bus. You may not even need to rent a car but we can help you to arrange one if you'd like. Guests have a dedicated parking spot in front of the house.

Access to the property is via lockbox. Lock combinations will be provided in advance.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The entire property is walled so you have excellent privacy. There is a swimming pool and large patio area to lounge. The flower garden is always in full bloom. The property is full of bougainvillea, cactus, desert rose and other colorful flora. Lots of hummingbirds and singing frogs. My neighbors have large mango trees so oftentimes, you can even watch the monkeys but please don't feed them!
