This luxury manor house is set in 7 acres of private grounds in the French countryside and offers two large double bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms, two large twin bedrooms and a beautiful large newly renovated family bathroom. A well equipped French farmhouse kitchen leads directly onto a large stone walled terrace, complete with dining table for 10, luxurious external lounge seating and two sun loungers. Two spacious reception rooms are comfortably furnished for family living with a large dining table, a television and games area, and cozy soft seating.

A newly renovated heated large swimming pool is flanked by a built-in barbecue, 8 loungers and poolside seating.

This house is fully equipped with amenities designed to provide guests with ease and comfort during their stay.

From the theme parks at Puy de Fou and Futuroscope to nature exploration in the Marais Poitevin and the vineyards and castles of the Haut-Poitou and southern Loire Valley, visitors of all tastes will find many options for day trips in the surrounding areas. Food lovers will enjoy the products of the local “terroir”, including world renowned butter produced in nearby Echiré. The property is a short 10-minute drive from the 18-hole course at the Golf du Petit Chêne.

La Batonniere would ideally suit a family holiday in the sun or a group of professional friends wanting a luxurious break away from the stresses of town.

All of the bedding is hypoallergenic.

Note: the house is fitted with a security alarm, a video door bell and six external security cameras. This entire system is switched off whilst guests are in residence. The external cameras are at the front and rear of the main barn, two covering the main courtyard and two facing the rear of the house.

Great Holiday

Great house for 8 of us. Would have given it 6 stars if it had air conditioning. Temperatures were high thirties. Lovely quiet rural setting but within 30 minutes of large towns. Communication and contact was very very good. Would recommend to anyone.

A truly superb vacation.

Had a fantastic stay in a beautiful house with extensive peaceful surroundings. The accommodation was superb.The bedroom and bathroom that we used were very luxurious. Similar to a 5 hotel.One of the best pools we have experienced and we have now stayed in 35 properties in France.Communication from owner and house manager was excellent. Thought Niort was very classy and Secondigny had a good restaurant by the lake. Would definitely recommend a stay.

Wonderful holiday

Fabulous property, perfect for two families with children. The house is very well appointed and the grounds simply lovely. Lots of room for garden games and the pool is a very welcome retreat in the heat. Trips to Coulon for the Sunday market, barge trip and lovely restaurants highly recommended. And skip the nearest bakery in favour of that in Verruyes for the best croissants.

Beautiful property in a sleepy village

We stayed at this stunning property for the last week in August and had a fantastic stay. We were two families of three, with two 15yr-old boys and dogs! The house is absolutely fabulous, beautiful and large bedrooms, a lovely kitchen and dining room and surrounded by fantastic gardens. The weather was unfortunately a little hit and miss, but on the warm sunny days we had a great time hanging out by the pool, playing boules etc. The boys borrowed the bikes and took themselves off to the football pitch just down the road in the village to make use of the goals and then came back and spent time in the pool. The house is in the village of Vouhé which is very sleepy and doesn’t have any shops. The nearest town for bigger supermarkets and restaurants is Parthenay about 15 minutes away by car. As long as you’re organised this works fine. Although it was a little disappointing not to have easy access to a local boulangerie for morning bread and the most local bakeries were sold out of croissants by 8am so we had to go further afield. A learning for us was that many of the restaurants were closed as owners were on their summer holiday! So there were limited choices where we could go that would take dogs and were open! We did enjoy an evening at La Citadelle in Parthenay. Also be aware that you must book restaurants on a Sunday; many places are closed and those that are open are busy! A wonderfully relaxing and peaceful break and Ian and Amanda always available on WhatsApp.

Three Generational Family holiday

We all had a wonderful holiday at La Batonniere.The house is so spacious,so comfortable and so interesting The bedrooms and bathrooms were exceptional,with ample good quality linen and towels.The children spent a huge amount of time enjoying the pool,and much fun was had on the bycicles.We explored the region,but always so happy to return to our holiday home every day We would absolutely recommend this exceptional property to all those looking for a special holiday The garden was

Idyllic

Quiet, peaceful and luxurious. It's a beautiful property in lovely grounds, well maintained and equipped. The hosts were welcoming and friendly and we felt like they really cared about us enjoying our time there. It was perfect for us - there was plenty of space for adults and small child, the rooms and beds were very comfortable and the swimming pool was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Fantastic French family getaway

Spacious, well laid out, beautiful house that comfortably accomodates extended family/friends holidaying together. Amazing hosts that are friendly and accomodating; nothing is too much trouble. The pool is a gem with all the outdoor space and furniture you could need. Likewise in the house, there is everything you need from cooking to family games. Lots of places to visit, we asked for some recommendations from the hosts who are full of knowledge. Coulon is lovely! You will not be disappointed! Thank you Ian and Amanda for a lovely stay and thank you Michelle and Derek for all your help (jump starting our vehicle) and friendliness. ❤️

Fabulous week

We had such a wonderful week at La Batonniere The house is in the middle of nowhere and one of it many plus’s points, it’s was so peaceful and the setting is simply stunning. However you could drive to local towns easily and not to far 10 minutes to a huge supermarket. wildlife was also amazing, butterfly’s, moths, bird life and a red squirrel! Not to Mention the two cow neighbors. It has something for the young and old. My son could boot a football without the ball going close to roads or flowers, something he doesn’t experience in our own garden. The pool was very warm 28, our week wasn’t the best weather wise but we still used it every day even in the rain! The small touches….Zara bath and moisturizer different smells in the en suits and main bathroom, all smelled amazing! The seating in the garden all very comfortable, the kitchen had everything to Cook up a storm, or the bbq was very adequate even for my bbq mad partner. Fresh herbs in the garden to use for cooking. The communication from the host and management all connected via the same what’s app they arrange before you arrive, any questions or issues where answered or sorted so quickly, something I have only experienced in 5 star resorts. The Wi-Fi is also great for streaming and general use, it’s a big place and yes there are dead spots but the boosters are everywhere even by the pool area. The house is also beautifully decorated and a lot of thought has gone into every room. We would recommend!

Een ideale plaats om tot rust te komen met de familie. Het landhuis heeft alle comfort en het domein is er prachtig. De opvolging door de eigenaars en de domeinverantwoordelijke is van aankomst tot vertrek perfect geregeld. Men biedt zelfs extra diensten aan. wunderschöner Urlaub in traumhaftem Herrenhaus

Das Herrenhaus La Batonnière ist wunderschön, elegant, überaus geräumig und sehr stilvoll und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Es liegt in einem sehr großen, gepflegten Garten, in dem traumhaft schöne Hortensien und Rosen in voller Blüte standen. Der große und beheizte Pool lädt zum Baden und Verweilen ein. Die sehr große Küche ist hervorragend ausgestattet, so dass die Zubereitung der Mahlzeiten - aus Zutaten vom Markt im nahegelegenen Parthenay - ein Vergnügen war. Wir wurden durch das im Nachbarort wohnende, überaus sympathische, englische Verwalterpaar sehr herzlich und auf unseren Wunsch hin mit einem sehr leckeren Abendessen und für uns bereits getätigten Einkäufen empfangen. Es fehlte uns an nichts. Die Verwalter und auch die netten Eigentümer standen uns über eine WhatsApp-Gruppe stets als freundliche Ansprechpartner mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Wir, zwei befreundete Familien mit Kindern und Hund, haben uns in La Batonnière sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gerne wieder.

Beautiful, relaxing house in lovely grounds

The house has 4 large luxurious bedrooms and is furnished to a high standard with very relaxing furniture. There was lots of room for our group of 10 (6 children and 4 adults). The TV room and lounge are very comfortable and the kitchen large and well supplied with equipment for lots of home cooking. The kids loved the pool and the adults loved the table tennis table. Many nights were spent outside looking at the stars on the numerous clear nights we were lucky enough to have. There are patisseries, boulangeries, supermarkets and interesting towns (Parthenay and Niorts) a short drive away.

A rare gem

La Batonniere came fully up to our expectations for a relaxed holiday in a fascinating part of France with many opportunities to explore the countryside, culture and food. The house is very comfortable for a family of four (two teenagers) and two grandparents with plenty of space, indoor and out (including pool, bikes, tables, chairs, umbrellas etc) for everyone. The owners, Amanda and Ian have done a great job fitting it out as a relaxing home with everything you could need for a two week stay. Simon and the team looking after the house were extremely helpful and responsive. All in all highly recommended.

Relaxing

This is an absolutely stunning property. It is very quiet, but just a short drive to Parthenay's shops and markets. It's the only house that we've gone back to. I think that says it all.

Family holiday

The house has been beautifully furnished with some lovely items and great bathrooms. The picture of the property and grounds shows beautifully manicured gardens but this was not the case - whilst we appreciate temperatures were very high, there seemed to be no garden maintenance- everything is parched and thistles and weeds are in abundance in the grassed areas, with a 2 year old walking around this was a problem. We were advised on arrival that the pool liner needed replacing and indeed the pool was not, in our eyes, of the standard we would have wished for. There were a number of issues which we were in touch with the owners about and they were responsive. They assured us that our points would be taken into consideration going forward. Overall we enjoyed our stay but it is often the little things that cumulatively become bugbears.

Amazing house in an amazing setting

Chose this property to spend my 50th Birthday and could not of picked better. We all had an amazing time and will defo be back. Thank you Ian and Amanda for the thoughtful gift for my birthday… you made my day extra special. The house, the grounds… the pool… incredible. La Batonniere is not just a holiday rental, it is a proper home from home.

Since purchasing the property Ian and Amanda have made a number of improvements. They have painted throughout, installed 2 new ensuites, a new family bathroom and redecorated every bedroom. There are also a new log burners in the day room and drawing room.

As avid chefs, the kitchen at La Batonniere is a cut above anything else you would find elsewhere. From proper chef's knives (sharpened professionally each year) to a whole section of pots and pans, glassware - everything you need to prepare great food in an unparalleled setting.
