Approximately 1.5 hrs to St John's. Beautiful area. Overlooking the bay, house is full of history and antiques. Surrounding the house are many trails. Berries were in season Linda is a pleasure to deal with, full of information. Would stay there again.

Million dollar view

We had a great time here. Love the view and the privacy and the quiet. Trails are cool too. A real taste of old NFLD for us.

My New Favorite Place!

I stayed for one month and absolutely loved this spot. It was relaxing and peaceful, surrounded by natural beauty, conveniently located, and had every amenity of a well-loved home. I had a few house guests on weekends, who loved it as well. I wanted for nothing - except to stay longer (which, I couldn’t really do.) Linda is a fantastic host - thorough, responsive and helpful. A wonderful ambassador for Newfoundland and the region.

New Perlican stay

Terrific four days in Vitter’s Cove. Beautiful views from the front grassy area that looks over the cove. Peaceful spot yet close enough to the community for walks and pleasant conversation with neighbours. Great walking trails and other lovely communities nearby. Thanks for a great mini-holiday.

Coming to Newfoundland? Come here.

Since the beginning, Linda (the host) had such a comforting presence although she was not on the property. Her attentiveness and responses to our questions were very helpful as it was our first time travelling to Newfoundland. By the time arrived at the home, it was very private with a beautiful ocean view, with amazing hiking trails and lookouts minutes away. Overall, the house was very clean and well kept, the beds were very comfortable and spacious for a 5 person family and dog! Linda was kind enough to surprise us with a fresh caught cod in the fridge by the time we got there which tasted delicious. Soon during our stay we learnt about the history of new Perlican and the cable station which is something not to miss. The home is located within a fine distance to St.Johns and many other parts of the east coast of NL. Due to this, our trip was always entertaining and full of activities. My family and I were so grateful to stay at Linda’s home while making happy memorable memories. Thank you so much Linda.

Sure - being from there - I am biased, but I love to share Nfld history, and love planning things, what to see, what to do, how to make the most of a precious trip…. It is with great effort and expense that people come to Nfld, and want to experience an authentic nfld outport experience, and New Perlican does not disappoint! So glad you and your family had a memorable trip, and that you got to enjoy a fresh feed of fish…there is nothing like it!….. timing is everything, it’s not always in season….. True Newfoundland Experience

This was our first trip to Newfoundland and this lovely biscuit box home with its great location, amazing views, abundant hiking trails, the friendly people we encountered and the beach combing exactly fit the experience we had been hoping for. We felt at home the moment we first walked through the door. The well-stocked kitchen had everything we needed including extras such as plastic wrap, spices, condiments (mustard, ketchup, Miracle Whip, peanut butter and jam). The barbecue was convenient and easy to use. Excellent drinking water comes directly from the kitchen tap! Also, having a stocked laundry room and bathroom (shampoos, conditioners, soaps, and extra personal items to use "just in case") was very much appreciated. If one is not familiar with the charming and traditional biscuit box or saltbox homes, the low ceilings and windows, especially on the upper level, might be a bit of a surprise. We are both under 6 feet tall, so these were quaint features which we found amusing. We also felt that the cottage was an easy 1.5 hour drive to North Atlantic Ziplines in Petty Harbour to have our very first zip lining experience. We're not getting any younger; this was the time to do it!! It was a lot of fun. Research the company beforehand to get the particulars. Homeowner Linda was a dream to communicate with. Right from our initial contact, she promptly and thoroughly answered and initiated emails and text messages. Linda is a very personable, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating woman who obviously loves her summer home. Thank you, Linda, for everything you did to make our trip enjoyable and trouble-free!! Wish we could have met you in person.

The house is lovely with a great view from the main rooms over the bay. A little tricky to find but worth it for the lovely quiet location. Everything I needed in the kitchen was there. Would stay again if in the area.

Great location and views of the ocean. Lots of nice places for a stop when you drive around the peninsula.

We had a great time!

The house was cozy with rustic charm. Plenty of room for four adults with lots of options for communal sitting. Space had everything that you could ask for in a rental and was clean and well presented. The warmth of the community added to the overall enjoyment of our Newfoundland experience. Linda went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we needed from local hiking spots to cupboards filled with condiments for us to use. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a true Newfoundland experience.
