Unbelievable setting, with views to soak in and a very comfortable home with all the amenities that will make you hate to leave and go home. Ten miles out of Chiloquin, with abundance of relaxation, fishing and hunting in the area. Property is 19 miles from the Yamsi Ranch with guided fly fishing and 40 miles from beautiful Crater Lake. Bring your gear (and licenses) and try your luck on the river right at your doorstep.

This is a fantastic place to stay right on the Sprague River. Couldnā€™t ask for better hosts. Loved Lila the dog. She was a sweetheart. Would definitely rent again when we go back to Crater Lake Natā€™l Park.

Family Getaway

The home on the Sprague River was exactly what we needed for a memorable family getaway. The home is very well appointed, the host has put a lot of thought into the comfort of their guests. Gateway to Crater Lake National park

Found a very quiet and comfortable place to stay close to the park. Comfortable and scenic, plenty of space for a family and more. Enjoyed the nearby river, walking path and watching/listening to the cows nearby. Good night sleep had by all at the end of the day.

Beautiful place on a ranch, close to Crater Lake.

My wife and I had a great time at this very serene location on a rustic ranch. Cindy and Dave were great hosts and very responsive. This was a great place to stay for a trip to Crater Lake, which was less than an hour away. The cabin is wonderful with every amenity that you could ever need. We plan on coming back again!

Wonderful Stay!

Loved staying here so much! the surroundings are beautiful, stars amazing, little stream down the hill idyllic. We arrived with three toddlers who all immediately fell in love with the cows that rotated around different fields throughout the day. Cindy and Dave were wonderful and hospitable hosts, and even introduced our clan to her nursing cow. Can't wait for another excuse to find ourselves here again.

Soooo Beautiful, wished we could have stayed longer...

We have never rented (at any price point) a more meticulously clean, well stocked rental. Also of note were the amazingly comfortable beds and high end linens. Fishing at sunset on the property at the Sprague River was a great way to end the day. Great communication with the owners. If you are looking for a unique and off the beaten path rental, this one is for you!

Paradise on the Sprague River!

Beautiful home with everything you need for a getaway on the Sprague! We enjoyed sitting on the deck, walking down to the river, watching the deer, cattle, and birds. Short drive to the Williamson River, Wood River, Crater Lake. Cooked in the well equipped kitchen, barbecued on the deck and got great nightā€™s sleep in the comfy beds. Great hosts with helpful information about the ranch. We canā€™t wait to return!

Our Train Mountain Station!

Property is within 15 minutes of Train Mountain and it was perfect size for our family / friends. Dave and Cindy were super hosts and very accommodating. Home has all of the amenities needed for tired train crews and riders. We hope it is available again for the next Triennial in 2021!

Home on Cattle Ranch in Oregon Mountains

It was an absolutely stunning experience. It was so incredibly clean; really lived up to all the fantastic reviews. The house sits on a picturesque property and is well appointed and very comfortable. The beds, lovely sheets, plush towels, patio dinning, I could go on, were all wonderful. Cindy was a fantastic host and super helpful. We felt comfortable and ā€˜at homeā€™ away from home- a lovely experience.

A great property that was very comfortable and quiet in southern Oregon

This home is extremely spacious, clean and well-appointed on a large ranch in southern Oregon. It's about 30 minutes from Crater Lake and 10 miles from almost anything that could be considered civilization. Very quiet and comfortable. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We experienced an unexpected power outage the first morning we were there for which Dave and Cindy were very apologetic, though they had no control over it at all. The scenery is lovely. The kitchen is well appointed. A beautiful place.

Beautiful, Comfortable, Quiet, Relaxing

We had an amazing four day/three night stay this October 2023. Very comfortable and well appointed, private house. Nice wood stove to take the chill out of the air with plenty of dry firewood. Amazing sunrises, big country and wonderful views - dozens of windows. Right on the river - we caught plenty of 8-16 inch trout. Glorious east facing home with a wonderful deck, and wide views to the north and south. Well appointed living room, kitchen, and bedrooms. Our hosts were responsive and friendly. This is a gem of a house - an excellent value. Thanks for having us!

Beautiful, quiet retreat

It was just amazing to wake up each morning and sit on the deck and look at the cows and river. We could just take beautiful walks on property or choose to explore other things in this beautiful region - Crater Lake, the Williamson River, The Sprague River - running right through the property, Lake of the Woods, Rogue River Gorge, Agency Lake, The Wetlands nearby with excellent bird watching, the Klamath County Museum. We had a day that we went to Ashland and Medford. We stayed here 10 days and just had a fabulous time. I was worried about the no A/C thing but the house stayed surprisingly cool and had ceiling fans. We had a BBQ on the deck half the nights. It was a great stay.

Great Home Out in the Country

Can't say enough about the home we stayed in outside of Chiloquin, OR! The layout was great, and so were the furnishings. All of your travel needs are taken care of. There is a spectacular view from the home as well. It is the perfect out of the way travel destination for couples or larger groups. Only issue was internet service. Although available, it did not work well for us during our stay. There are groceries available in Chiloquin, but if you want anything other than the basics, pick up groceries in Klamath Falls or another larger town on your way to the home.

Our family had THE most AMAZING time at your property! Cindy and Dave are such kind, great hosts! Pictures donā€™t do this home justice! Such beauty all around you! This home has EVERYTHING you need! The beds are SUPER comfortable! So comfortable that we had to undo the sheets so we could see what brand they were. Watching the cows and nature around is such a plus. We stayed 5 nights but wish it was longer. Crater lake is just a short drive. Cindy and Dave, thank you so much for opening this home up for others to enjoy! Truly felt blessed being able to stay there. I have nothing negative to say!

Beautiful and Relaxing

My family and I came here for my wife's birthday weekend to see Crater Lake. The house was incredible. Large open spaces with a rustic motif. This was my kind of home. The view off the back porch was gorgeous. If I could describe the view with a song, it would be "God's Country". Dave and Cindy were very welcoming. We only stayed for 2 nights, but I would have loved to sit and chat with them. If we are ever back down this way again, I would love to see if this house is available. Dave and Cindy, I can't comment enough on your hospitality. Stay safe. God Bless.

Beautiful home near hunting unit.

This home is beautiful with amazing views, sunrise and sunsets. We are a small cattle farm family, so staying at a ranch and hearing the cows was pleasing to us. The owners are so nice. Our son had a youth hunt for deer in the Sprauge Unit, which was pretty much across the road. Unfortunately, his tag was not filled, but we had a wonderful time staying in the house. My son also uses a wheelchair and was able to maneuver all over the house once we carried him in. Nice big open floor plan, large windows in the dining and living room to take in the view. The house came with all you need to cook with. Just bring food since there is not a grocery store near by. We loved all the cowboy pictures and cattle brand displayed on various things in the house. The covered back porch was nice. We didnā€™t get a chance to go fishing but did take the dogs for walks around the property. It was a nice get-a-way house and we absolutely will stay again if we plan to visit the area again. Thank you so much!

Quiet getaway with Upper Klamath & Crater Lake Nearby

A delightful home & setting perched on the Sprague River! The house is very livable, with a shaded front porch with rockers, a sunny back deck with grill, spacious open kitchen, dining & living area, and lovely views of the nearby grazing cattle. We were there in July, and got to see the newborn calves frolicking in the distance as we dined on the deck, but I can imagine really enjoying a Fall or Winter Holiday there, if prepared to deal with driving in snow. There's wood for the fireplace, a fair collection of games, and a well stocked kitchen. The home's western theme is cozy and a fine fit for the ranch setting. Cindy and Dave do a very good job of being welcoming friendly hosts who greet you warmly, and get on with their other business to give you the place to yourself. (They're not too far away, so easily reached if needed) Small caveat: The address given does not appear on at the turn in, so it's really easy to miss the property on first approach, even with directions. ***The place would definitely benefit from some visual indicator at the turnoff.*** (A sign, a unique piece of lawn art, or even just painting a fence post a bright color. Just something first time visitors can keep an eye out for.) Overall, a fantastic get away from the noise and bustle. Thank you so much, Dave and Cindy!

Dave and Cindy Thompson. Live on the property year round. We have been in the cattle business for approximately 30 years. Our vacation rental home is on our property which is part of the cattle ranch. Our home is approximately 300 yards and up a slight hill from our guest home.

We purchased this property as a place to bring cattle from ranch in California to summer grass. We were originally only going to stay in Oregon for 6 or 7 months of the year. The river views and the surrounding forest along with our meadows of cattle grazing are such a wonderful place for us we decided to make this our full time home. It is a very quiet and peaceful place to live.

The view of the river and surrounding forest is absolutely beautiful, along with all the wild life. There is a large variety of bird watching. Canadian geese fly over and land in river all day. We always have a family of Osprey that hatch on a power line box in one of our pastures during early summer. Occasionally deer will walk thru our pastures. You will have access to all parts of the river that is located on the property. There will be limited access to some parts of river during cattle operations. We have a good fishing spot where some 5 to 8 lb trout have been caught. It is catch and release. There are many surrounding places to site see.
