Our group had a lovely stay at Donna's home. The pool had loungers, umbrellas and floaties which made it the place to be! The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed going out, however, the canoe and two kayak's had holes in them so we were unable to use them. The dining room was large enough for our group of 10, as was the living room. The beds were very comfortable, but there was only blinds in one room. So that morning sun was an alarm clock for most of us. We were glad to have a grocery store within 10 minutes, and had everything else we needed!

We could not have asked for a better home or experience for such a special weekend! We rented this beautiful house to celebrate our daughter’s Sweet 16 with family and friends, and it truly helped make the weekend everything we hoped it would be.The home was beautiful, spacious, comfortable, and gave us the perfect place to gather, relax, laugh, swim, celebrate, and make memories together. There was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy themselves while still feeling cozy and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect setting for such an important milestone. As parents, you spend so much time planning and hoping that these big moments will be everything your child deserves, and this home gave us the backdrop for a weekend we will never forget. Watching our daughter celebrate turning 16 surrounded by the people who love her most was incredibly special, and we are so grateful we chose this property.Everything was exactly what we needed, and the entire experience made our celebration that much more memorable. We left with full hearts, countless pictures, and memories that our family will treasure for years to come.Thank you for allowing us to make your home part of such a special chapter in our daughter’s life. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful place to bring family and friends together!

We really enjoyed being together as a family at this vacation rental. There was plenty of room, the house and lake were beautiful and it was close to home in St Louis. We enjoyed fishing, the boats and even the game garage on a rainy morning.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! The house had everything you could want in a vacation; fishing, swimming , kayaking, games, and just taking it easy. Donna is a great host and immediately made my family feel at home. Our group of nine had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy all this house has to offer.

Great property

Pictures do not do this place justice. We just stayed with 6 kids and 6 adults. There were tons of activities to keep everyone busy, from swimming to kayaking to ping pong, we were never bored. The property is beautifully maintained and the bonus game room was a real hit!

A Glorious Week

Enjoyed the week here with my kids and grandkids. Such a beautiful place with so much to do. There is no need to leave. We swam in the pool, kayaked with kayaks provided, explored the beautiful grounds and amused ourselves with the closet of games. The host was extremely responsive when we needed to call. We would definitely stay here again.

We reserved this home for a family reunion vacation. We had family visit from all over the country. When we arrived, we couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. Not only was the property huge, it was absolutely gorgeous. The home was beautifully decorated and was so cozy. The pool was perfect, and we loved kayaking and fishing on the pond. The game room had everything you could possibly need for teenagers. We also used the kitchen in the game room. Miss Donna the host was very sweet and great at communicating. Thank you so much for hosting this gorgeous property. We will be back.

The Long House

Great host in Donna Long. Quiet location not too far from shopping. Salt water pool is the best. Fishing for bass and blue gills is fun. 2 suggestions in a positive way: have a list of “ how to’s” for renters and kitchen and carpets are in need of replacement. Otherwise a perfect #5.

Thanks sooo much for the great review and I agree with the how to do list:-). There is sooo much to this home and the short orientation is a lot to take in:-). As for the carpets , this fall/winter I’m going with hardeood or tile, the off white shag was for personal use not for a vacation rental and I agree with you on that! Just as soon as I have it dry cleaned it’s dirty again! Thanks for staying and yes the pool and fishing are The Best!!!

A Real Dream Home!

Donna and her Mid Century Lake House were absolutely incredible! Elegantly furnished, yet comfortable and spacious, it felt like a true dream home, & was a fantastic NYE venue to host our themed murder mystery dinner for friends traveling in. Donna was friendly, flexible, & communicative. To top off, you can't miss the spectacular views of the lake especially at sunset and sunrise! Perfection! Thank you, Donna, for sharing your incredible lake home with us and allowing us to close out 2024 in such a magnificent place! We will definitely be back!

Relaxing and beautiful

I can’t express enough how much we enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, tranquil, and sitting and watching the geese fly over the private lake was exactly what we were looking for. Add to that we caught lots of fish in the private lake. Donna was perhaps the best host that we’ve ever experienced on VRBO and we have been renting for many years. She was incredibly responsive and caring. The house was beautiful and well equipped. Without a doubt we would go back, but perhaps during the summer months when all the trees are in full bloom.

Sobre o anfitrião

Anfitrião: Donna Long

Imagem do perfil do anfitrião
I started out at 15 being a hostess at a restaurant, for college I attended a travel academy, soon after had 2 beautiful bright children, ran a mechanical contracting company with my husband for 24 years, married 26 years to be widowed at a early age, and now once again a hostess to my own properties that I share with Wonderful Vacationers from all over the world:-)

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

This property is the home where my husband and I raised our children, when they grew up and moved out, I saw that we were not here as much and it's soooo beautiful to leave unattended, so I asked my husband if he would mind if we shared it with others. He agreed and the first year the response was soooo good that after I lost my husband, it's what kept me going:-) Everyone that stays here loves it, and many return year after year!!!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

As soon as your drive down the driveway between the manicured fields to the woods by the lake and then approach the home, you feel a sense of calmness. When you enter the foyer into the great room you then receive the WOW factor and the view is absolutely fabulous! Different words everyday can describe the view and the feeling, well, it's sometimes indescribable!! I look forward to providing this accommodation that you will long remember:-)
