Enjoy this peaceful, spacious, bright guest quarters situated on a one-acre property adjoined as an in-law unit to a main house with a separate entrance. Guests can enjoy their mornings on the private patio, surrounded by the sweet smell of jasmine when in bloom, the chirping of birds and scurrying of lizards on this well-maintained property. Antrue foothills experience. No stairs or elevators. Walk through the courtyard to your private in law unit. To stay connected, there is WIFI with streaming TV, sling and Netflix subscriptions. I do not have premium sports channel subscriptions, so please bring your own streaming device if you want to watch special sporting events. Queen size bed with quality linens and pillows, with protective covers. Drift off to sleep from the peace and quiet of the neighborhood and blackout shades. At dusk the courtyard is lighted and welcoming. While some of my guests come for a week, many enjoy a month-long visit or longer to escape the cold winters or during relocation to Tucson. The location is convenient as a home base as it's central to michnof Tucson and just 12 minutes up the road from Banner University Medical Center and 15 mins to UofA. While feeling secluded, you're minutes from La Encantada Shopping Center, excellent restaurants. Great walking neighborhood with hikes just minutes away, farmer's market on Sundays followed by Mimosas at St. Phillips Plaza or an early morning hike from the nearby Pima Trailhead.

Please note that you may see the smiling faces of myself and my dogs occasionally as we pass through the courtyard. We'll say hello and also respect your privacy if you prefer low contact. For longer term stays of a month or longer, you will be given a key for access to the laundry room off the courtyard.

Lovely desert hideaway

The host gave us excellent directions to her beautiful home with its attached casita. The space was cool and lovely with great views of the Catalinas. It had a functional kitchen and a couple of outdoor seating areas to enjoy the cool morning and evening. We loved our stay and would definitely recommend!

A very nice property

This is a very nice casita, in a lovely, quiet neighborhood. Everything is good quality from towels to pots and pans. And the host is superb! We would definitely stay there again.

Lush Desert Getaway

The property was as expected and more. Very spacious and decorated nicely. In a great neighborhood, with lots of desert plants and landscaping, and with fantastic views of the mountains. Loved the huge window in front to view the lush desert plants and Saguaro Cactus. Even had the resident bobcat pop by, but didn't stay long. I would definitely recommend this property. The host was out of town but was very conscientious about contacting her for any needs. This wasn't necessary, as everything went just fine. Had a very nice stay.

Great house in the foothills

The property was great for us and our dog, it was very clean and bigger than we thought it would be. Lots of little extra touches that were nice and the kitchen was quite well equipped. Location was fantastic, easy to get to everything and a great area for walking the dog. Laura was a great host, very helpful and even let our dog swim in her pool, which completely made his trip! We would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay

We enjoyed our stay at Laura's guest quarters. The location is convenient and the neighborhood is safe and quiet. Apartment is clean and had everything we needed. Layout is spacious for a one bedroom, with a nice patio area. Laura is great to work with. I mentioned that we were going to barbecue one night and she went out of her way to get us a backup tank of propane, just incase. I would definietly stay here again.

Lovely guest house in the amazing foothills

This is our second time spending a month in this wonderful guest house. Everything you can possibly need is provided and of excellent quality. So much nicer that other places we've stayed. Laura is very attentive to details and is helpful and available if needed. Her doggies are sweet and quiet. The area is full of birds that are a joy to watch. The neighborhood is perfect for walking with a fabulous view of the Catalina mountains. At sundown the changing light on the mountains is so special to watch. We hope to stay here again!

Great Location and Very Pet Friendly

The Guest Quarters are very comfortable. We spent about one month and the space was fine. The location is excellent, providing easy access to downtown Tucson and other shopping and dining opportunities were very close. The location also provided a great view of the surrounding mountains sunrise and sunsets. The Quarters are very pet friendly and provided a safe closed in area for our dog. We took many walks along the streets in the neighborhood and found the people we spoke with friendly and helpful. I would recommend the location for anyone with a pet.

Laura was the perfect host, the accommodations were excellent. Highly recommended. Great location for numerous activities and destinations. Downtown is minutes away and local restaurants are plentiful. We will stay with her again.

Relaxing retreat in the foothills

We truly enjoyed our 4-night stay. There was plenty of space for us, both inside and out, and the unit was tastefully appointed. Both arrival and departure was a breeze, and we enjoyed visiting with Laura and the pups! Not being very familiar with Tucson, we weren't sure if we picked the right location. After spending four full days exploring many different neighborhoods within Tucson, we realize that we chose the best spot! It's smack-dab in the middle of wherever you want to be. Whether you go east, west or south, you won't have far to go. Groceries, restaurants and shopping are nearby. We made sure to include some down time, relaxing on the patio, so that we could soak up some of the sun to take back to Chicago in April. The entire neighborhood was peaceful, quiet and private. Ultimately we'd one day love to own a place similar to this. Until that time, we'll be staying here whenever we decide to continue our search for our next home!

Lovely home away from home in the Catalina foothills on quiet "country" street just five minutes from shopping and upscale restaurants. Very friendly, helpful host. Property is attractive, good-sized, and well-furnished. Quails, doves & bunnies abound. Can't wait to go back.

Lovely, lovely, lovely!

We certainly enjoyed our stay at Laura's Guest Quarters. It is a beautiful property. The guest quarters are roomy and well appointed. There was not a single item you could want for, it is so well equipped. We enjoyed sitting on the patio in the sunshine, watching and listening to all the birds. The "Old Foothills" are charming and still close to great restaurants and shopping. Laura is a wonderful host and a charmer herself. We plan to return in May!

A Good Find

My husband and I enjoyed our 11-night stay here. The guest quarters are located in an upscale, quiet enclave. We sat for hours in the courtyard listening to and watching the birds and marveling at the light changing on the mountains. Plus, we had easy access to many sites around town. It's no surprise that we already booked for next year. The furniture and bed were comfortable. The owner is friendly and thoughtful and takes prides in the property, as she should. Many touches and amenities here that made the rental experience a positive, memorable one. The kitchen is small, but adequately stocked to have enabled us to cook most of our meals. (I did miss my dishwasher, though.) Lots of light here to make the guest quarters a welcoming, home-like place. Don't hesitate to book.

Desert Beauty and Quiet Comfort in Catalina Foothills

We - Jim & I & Alfy - really enjoyed our stay in these well-appointed quarters. The apartment is quite spacious with lovely views, comfy furniture and nice artwork. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. It was nice to have a secure courtyard where Alfy could be out on his own. He enjoyed playing with Laura’s dogs - especially in their grassy yard. The pea gravel in the courtyard wasn’t as much fun. The cool and wet February Tucson experienced during our stay certainly kept us inside more than we wanted, but we would love to stay with Laura again. PS - Alfy is a Westie.

Spacious, clean, sophisticated decor, great location

We stayed only a week but would have been comfortable in this apartment for months. The Foothills location is perfect for vacationers; close to good restaurants, shopping and outdoor pursuits in the northern part of the city but also a pretty simple drive into downtown. The immediate neighbourhood is one of Tucson's most desirable addresses - quite low density, private and serene. The apartment itself is surprisingly large, very clean and Laura has decorated it beautifully. The kitchen is well equipped and you could, if you wanted, prepare all your meals. We didn't because Tucson has so many great restataurants to sample, but we found it very handy for storing and preparing snack foods and drinks. The weather was pleasantly mild during our early March stay but, in hotter weather, we probably would have missed having a pool to cool off in. Not a deal breaker so I'm sure we'll be back next time we're in AZ.

Beautiful setting in the foothills

The Guest Quarters is spacious, immaculate and very comfortable. And the setting is beautiful. We sat in the desert each night to watch the sunset over the mountains. But we also had a view of the mountains from the dining area. Laura was very friendly and I would definitely recommend her lodging.

Large spotless guest apartment in great neighborhood

Laura is a very kind and conscientious hostess, and her place is well appointed and much larger than it looks in photos. It is attached to her house, but she leaves guests a lot of privacy. We didn't cook, but the kitchen had enough dishes, bakeware, pots, pans, etc for all needs. I especially liked having a bathtub as well as shower, and being able to use her laundry facilities. The little patio was nice in the afternoons when it got sunny, and the neighborhood is like being out in the country, but ten minutes to shopping. Our dog loved visiting/playing with Laura's dogs! Thanks for a great stay!

A Hidden Gem in the Beautiful Foothills

Clean and well maintained guest area. The owner allowed me access to laundry etc. I have a two year old and one year old and brought their beds with us. There wasn’t a problem and there was plenty of space. The owner was very kind and responsive. The kitchen is well stocked with whatever you might need. I will do more VRBO and less hotels going forward. It is such a better option with the kids especially to just be able to make breakfast etc. We were there for Christmas and we brought a small tree etc. Plus my kids could take a bath etc. which is not always a choice in a hotel as many just have showers. The courtyard is amazing and totally fenced in.
