Welcome to **Dockside Retreat at Indian Lake**, a charming three-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath cottage where lake life is just steps from your front door. With approximately 1,000 square feet of comfortable living space, the cottage accommodates up to six guests and is ideal for families, couples and small groups.

Walk across the street to your private dock—perfect for guests bringing a boat or simply enjoying easy access to the water. After a day of boating, fishing or exploring Indian Lake, relax on the spacious deck spanning the front of the cottage. It’s a wonderful spot for morning coffee, sunny afternoons and peaceful lake views.

The cottage is also just steps from the newly reopened Indian Head Roadhouse, Jack & Do’s Pizza and Indian Lake Brewing Company. Across from Indian Head Roadhouse, the 3.5-mile Indian Lake Bike Path provides a scenic place for walking, jogging or biking. With dining, drinks, recreation and the lake all nearby, Dockside Retreat offers a convenient home base for your Indian Lake getaway.

The primary renter must be at least 21 years old. Bachelor and bachelorette parties are not permitted.

My wife and I had an amazing stay at this cottage. It is a great location and within walking distance to some good restaurants and a brewery. I was able to fish from the private dock just across the road, while my wife read her books on the front patio. We had amazing weather most days, but had the best view of a rain storm sweep across the lake one afternoon from the comfort of a love seat that faces the swath of windows that covers the entire front of the cottage. Communication was great with the owner. 10 out of 10, highly recommend.

The home needs updated and general maintenance badly. We could never get ahold of the host until we needed to add an extra night. Messaged about the freezer being covered in black mold- left unanswered. Just overall not a great experience the place was worn down for the very expensive price.

Not that great

The air conditioner did not work on one of the hottest weekends of the Summer. The owners came out and gave us a window unit but for the size of the space, it didn't help at all. If you have a lake house, the outside should be enjoyable...the front patio was a mess. Spider webs and debris everywhere and the cushions for the furniture were all molded and dirty. I wish owners would use their own properties sometimes so they can ask themselves," would I enjoy it here? Is this a nice place and what would I change?". The decor was cute. The kitchen light is horrible, It's very dark in the kitchen. If they would just invest in like $200 worth of touches, then it could be 5 star. We knew it was on a busy street but you don't realize how loud it is until you try and relax on the front porch. Not worth the amount they are asking for on a weekend night. Sorry to the owners, I know you tried, but I needed to give an honest review.

Cottage as listed, very clean

Remy's cottage was comfortable, very clean and a great location. Last weekend of September and beautiful weather. All amenities as mentioned in the VRBO listing. For future renters, bring electrical extension cords as there are always more outlets needed for various devices. The lighting in the kitchen is very dim so I am sure that this will be addressed going forward. We hope to come back in the future to enjoy the cottage and beautiful lake.

Weekend Getaway

My wife and I stayed the weekend and it was very clean and nice view of the lake. Located on Main St of Russells Point just across from Jac and Do's Pizza. We loved our stay. I would recommend to friends or a family with older children. The only drawback for little kids is that it is right on the road and hard to walk on that side if traffic is heavy. Docks and better walking are across the street.

October Get Away

This property was definitely a cottage on the lake. It reminded us of cottages in our area of the state. It was somewhat "rustic", but, It was very comfortable and very close to restaurants, stores, etc. We had lots of room for relaxing, cooking, eating and sleeping. We used this as a starting point for going to other areas in Ohio, including a wedding in Sidney. It worked out well. The property owner was very helpful and easy to get in touch with once we were inside the cottage. We did think there could have been some instructions for the TV and Internet service. Also, we weren't sure what to do with the garbage, so we took it with us. We did need to buy some paper towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags because we couldn't find any there. If those are items that people need to bring, maybe that should be stated in the details of the property or the owner should let people know ahead of time. It was not a big inconvenience. We just would have brought stuff with us. The cottage was a bit smaller and older than we thought, but overall, we did fine and had a nice time. We liked the lake and the entire area of Russells Point. We would recommend this cottage to others. Just know it isn't brand new. But it was very cozy and comfortable. The neighbors were very nice and helpful, too.

Excellent!

We had a great time. Everything we needed and more was available. A couple of good restaurants nearby and water to look at and enjoy. Very clean. We plan on staying again next year.

The Perfect Spot

We were in town for a family reunion, and staying here made the trip so enjoyable. It was clean, charming, communication with the owner was easy, and the view of the lake was great. Would gladly stay here again!

Great location!

The location is excellent and the owner is very helpful and responsive. The cabin is within walking distance to a number of restaurants and shops and right across the street from the water with awesome views of the lake. We would definitely stay here again!!

Wonderful Family Vacation

We have been coming to Indian Lake for 5 years now. Both my family and in laws all come for a week of fun in the sun and rent 2 houses. I've stayed a few other places and paid more and was so disappointed. So at first I wasn't sure how I felt about staying across from the water and not right on the water. But when we walked in the house it was so cute, cozy and really wasn't so bad having to walk across the street. I felt like I was at home. You have everything you need!!!! My mother and I loved the decorations of the house and I must say having a washer and dryer was a plus. After being on the lake and towels getting wet it was nice to have clean dry towels and you don't need to pack so much stuff. Also having that 2nd bathroom was a total plus!!! The owner was always available by email and text and very kind and understanding. He even checked on us to make sure everything was okay. I'm looking forward to my stay again next year. I would totally recommend this property. Don't let the size fool you from the picture. We have plenty of room for all 7 of us.

would recommend tis cottage to emyone only down side is the furniture is not the most comfortable bot on the possitive side mr Remy is great to work with and the cottage is in a good location look forward to next year, this is the third time we stayed at this location

Great location and view. Close to bike path!!

Very clean, everything you need is there. Very relaxing with a view from the deck. Access to water was so easy, we used kayaks. We enjoyed the bike path and also drove all around the lake. Easy access to restaurants. I would recommend this cottage to anyone as well as return for another visit.

summer retreat with family

stayed here once before about two years ago it really seemed much the same we enjoyed are stay very much and would considerate again next year. The cottage was very neat and clean and acsessible to every thing

My friends and I stayed at this cottage for the Fourth of July Weekend. The cottage was the perfect size for the three couples. We had such a great time and would definitely stay there again.

Fall Family "Fishless" Fling

We chose this cottage primarily for the following reasons since we were getting with our 2 young adult kids, son's girlfriend, and our grandson----3 separate bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, one floorplan (no stairs), and close to Indian Lake for fishing/boating (maybe). It accommodated us very well. The directions upon departure were simple and clear. There was lots of room for our 18 mo. old grandson to do his usual investigative work. During our stay, there was an issue with the microwave, however, the owners of the cottage were very quick to respond and take care of the situation. Thanks to them, we enjoyed microwave popcorn with our movie!

This house is lovely, convenient, very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay very much. We would recommend this house to be rented. It's right across from the lake and if you boat there is a dock one can use.

What a GEM!!

I rented this beautiful lake house as a surprise for my husband's birthday. It was even more lovely and spacious in person than the pictures and description on the internet said. The house is tastefully decorated, comfortable and very clean. The view of the lake is beautiful and the house is stocked with everything you need with a large kitchen complete with dishwasher. We used the gas grill and enjoyed dinner outside on the deck each night. The bed was comfy and the house cozy. We will definitely be back for a week in the summer. We had the opportunity to meet the owners, Scott and Ellen, and they are just a warm and lovely as their home! It's great to meet people who are so down-to-earth and they wanted to make sure our stay was a great one. If you have the opportunity to stay at this house and meet Scott and Ellen, you won't be sorry. My husband said this was the BEST birthday gift he has ever gotten! That's what every wife wants to hear!! Thank you Scott and Ellen for helping me pull it off! We will definitely be seeing you again in the summer! :) Christina and John

Great Lake House!

What a great house by the lake. The house is very clean and well maintained, and steps away from the lake and a boat slip. Perfect for spending a day at the lake. My husband, our two small boys, and another couple had plenty of room, and enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the lake. Can't wait to return!!

Great for boaters!

What a delightful, quaint cottage for a relaxing vacation! If you are a boater this place is perfect, as your dock is a few steps from the front door. We also loved the side deck to eat and visit through the day. Clean, comfortable and convenient ! Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back!
