Our craftsman style central Austin garage apartment is on a quiet street nestled between between two historic pecan trees. This 1 bedroom / 1 bath has a queen size bed in the main bedroom and a pull-out sofa bed in the living room. The apartment sleeps 4 adults. It has an HDTV, high-speed wifi, full size washer / dryer, high thread count sheets, soft towels, full kitchen with Kitchen Aid appliances and gorgeous hardwood floors. It is a short walk to the Central Market grocery store, Upper Crust Bakery, Draught House Pub, Taco Deli, Teo Gelato Shop & more.

The Rosedale pool & park is a short walk. The park was recently updated and has full tennis courts, basketball court and a free swimming pool in the summer. If you have kids, then the kids playground is amazing.

For transportation, you can easily walk to the MetroRAPID Rosedale bus stop and take the bus downtown (runs every 12 min.). There are also multiple Cars2Go in our neighborhood and Uber / Lyft serve the area well.

quite possibly the perfect rental

we have nothing but great things to say about our stay here. the neighborhood is great - so cute and so close by to central market stores boutiques and restaurants. the house is even better! dustin and rebecca were the nicest hosts and they did an amazing job making their flat cozy and inviting with pretty much every amenity you could want or think of. we stayed for almost a month and by the end, my husband and i didn't want to leave!!!

A Beautiful Guest House in a Great Location

Dustin and Rebecca were outstanding hosts. Every aspect of the process was smooth and efficient from check-in through departure. Most importantly, this garage apartment is attractive, comfortable, and top notch. The kitchen is fully equipped, the king bed and pillows are comfortable, and the living and bath areas have everything one could need/want. The hosts' attention to detail is second to none. We highly recommend this property. As our son and his family reside in Austin, we hope to rent this space again in the future.

Canceled by Owner 6 Days before Scheduled Stay!

I contacted Dustin (owner) on Feb 9th to ask if his property was available for the weekend that my husband and I would be traveling to Austin (March 3-6). We were extremely interested in his property and due to pets being considered we wanted to double check that our dog could accompany us. Dustin responded quickly letting me know that the property was available and that we could in fact being our dog. We booked and received confirmation on Feb 10th. Then, 6 days before our trip I receive an email from Dustin saying: “I’m very sorry to do this but I just cancelled your reservation and provided a 100% refund to you. We’ve had something come up with our property and I’m concerned it would negatively impact your stay with us.” I was disappointed to say the least that Dustin waited till 6 days before we left to inform me of the information about the property. I was happy that we got our money back however; I was confused why there was not more of an explanation of to what exactly was wrong with the property. So I reached out to Dustin through phone and chatted with him where he still did not have an explanation for what the problem was. He first stated that there was an electrical problem, but that there was still people staying at the property. So it seemed to me that the property was still functioning. So I asked further if the other guest where having issues and an unpleasant stay, and again what the issue was. Dustin replied by saying that actually at this time they don’t really know the issue because they haven’t had an electrician diagnose the problem. Again, still never telling me in any way what the issue even was. I expressed my disappointment to Dustin, and while he apologized I couldn’t help but get the impression that something was just not being said when it came to exactly why the reservation was canceled. I explained to Dustin that we now had to book another place, and that the option where limited due to traveling with a pet and trying to stay in budget. Dustin offered to pay for any difference, however, after the only experience that I have had with him, I was very hesitant to book a place just based on his “word” that he would pay the difference. Overall, I think the property is beautify displayed in pictures and has overall great reviews. However, I would highly recommend using extreme caution when booking this property. It sure does make for a stressful time trying to find a place to stay last minute.

Perfect stay

Stayed here over July 4th weekend. Garage apartment is modern, well stocked and tucked away in a very quiet neighborhood. Perfect for 2. Would definitely book again.

Great stay

Upstairs garage apartment in a very quiet neighborhood. Great location with nearby Central Market and restaurants. The apartment is beautifully decorated and well equipped with every thing you need for a short or long stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Property

We needed a spot close to family for a celebration of life event and this apartment was perfect. The bed like sleeping on a cloud, the linens were all the best quality, and the design of the apartment was very hip and classy. The neighborhood was very family oriented and it was wonderful to walk through and see all the Halloween decorations. We had never been to Austin before and this was a great spot to hang out and easy access to downtown. Thanks for the hospitality!

Everything a VRBO property should be

We had a wonderful time at Dustin and Rebecca's property. Everything was exactly as described and depicted in the photos. Check in was flexible and easy. They were very welcoming and accommodating. The kitchen and bathroom were really well-appointed. No complaints whatsoever. Easy access to everything Austin has to offer. Would definitely stay here again. This is one of those places you hesitate to leave such a positive review because you want it to be available when you return!!

Top Notch Austin Rental

I stayed at Dustin's garage apartment rental during Austin City Limits weekend with two friends. We were extremely pleased with our stay here. The property felt brand new, was clean and equipped with essential toiletries,towels, etc. We also enjoyed the Keurig coffee in the morning. The location is conveniently near the Mopac Expressway and Lamar Blvd to make travel around Austin easy. The neighborhood is great as well, with many great food/drink options nearby. I wish we had the chance to meet Dustin and his family, however they were out of town when we stayed. Regardless, communication was great with Dustin and we felt very welcome. I would definitely recommend staying here! Thanks Dustin!

Perfect property for a couple or small family!

This property is wonderful! Clean, comfortable, safe and beautiful. Our family (3 adults) stayed here for a long period of time and it was ideal. The location was central for us as we had a car and it was easy to get around Austin. Highly recommend!!!!

beautiful, well-maintained and ideal for kids

This location could not have been more perfect for my long weekend in Austin with my 2 school aged kids. The unit is beautifully appointed and maintained. It was well-stocked with necessities. The owners were gracious and helpful. The space is small but utilized very well, so we were able to sleep comfortably and never felt like we were on top of one another. The neighborhood is teeming with children and within two easily walkable blocks there is a playground that absolutely delighted my children. (I will confess to playing on the structures, too!) I was sad to leave my little Austin oasis!

Fabulous property, location and owners!!

We spent a month at Dustin and Rebecca's Rosedale home and it did not disappoint! It's exactly as pictured and in fact I think the kitchen may be even better than pictured. We are so picky about a good kitchen and cooking utensils we brought of few of our own things, but never had to use them. The bathroom was excellent and water pressure very good. Bedroom very nice size too. The sofa pulls out into a futon type sleeper, but truly the twin blow up bed was even more comfortable! The location was perfect for us, Rosedale is a great area and we were able to walk so many places. Our favorite coffee spot became Houndstooth Coffee, they make a chai that is to die for. It would take us only about 10 minutes to get downtown once we figured out when to stay of the roads, traffic can be brutal at times. However if you don't have to drive during rush hour, you'll find Austin feels like a little, big town and is pretty easy to navigate. The neighborhood itself is full of young families and professionals with a great park a few blocks away. Dustin & Rebecca were so accommodating and just the sweetest. They keep everything so well maintained and were always checking to make sure everything was ok. They gave a great recommendation of a restaurant we ended up trying on our last night....big mistake! We would have loved to have eaten there a few more times. It's incredible and only 2 miles from the house. It's called Fonda San Miguel, it's a must visit! So many restaurants to choose from it's hard to narrow suggestions. Downtown, we really enjoyed Italic, food was outstanding and the wine selection superb. If you like a good microbrewery, Growler USA with over 100 beers on tap was excellent and the food was surprisingly good! Via 313 for pizza was unbelievable and i'm not a huge pizza fan. The Cadillac pizza is a must. Foreign & Domestic is a great little spot that fills up quick especially on certain nights, like oysters on the half shell. Josephine House for breakfast or brunch, Hopdoddy's was good. Had fun at the Alamo Draft House and then over to the Highball for some great music. The owners asked what they could do to make anything better, and there really isn't much. However for longer term guests like us it would be helpful to have a dresser in the bedroom, although there is plenty of closet space and built in shelving which is plenty for short term stays. Dustin says they are considering getting one soon. Overall, you just can't go wrong here!

Wonderful rental

My wife and I rented this over- garage apartment for 2 months (October/November 2015). The garage and apartment were new construction finished during winter, of 2015. All is new and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was very well equiped for people who love to cook (we do). Appliances were all new and high end. It is up a driveway behind the owners' house. They were very helpful if we had questions or special requests (we came with our 2 road bikes-Dustin installed bike racks in his garage for our use). Highly recommended. Would definitely stay again.

Month stay during relocation

This is a very nice property. It's brand new, good quality, comfortable and a nice part of town. In addition, Dustin and Rebecca were very gracious hosts. We would highly recommend this property and would be happy to stay there again.

Best Place EVER!

The on-line photos are great, but when I walked into this fabulous place I was blown away! The owners spared no expense to provide an apartment that feels like home, not just a room to sleep in. I felt amazingly relaxed there, and the neighborhood is a wonderful place to walk around and explore. Very nearby is a wonderful park with a swimming pool. The whole neighborhood feels very calm and beautiful, but also very near a fantastic market! Trees and flowers everywhere, this was the most splendid week away from home I can remember. The owners, Dustin and Rebecca, are the greatest people you could ever find! I would definitely stay there again any time I am in Austin. I very highly recommend it!
