Wonderful quiet getaway!!

Our stay at the lakeside cabin in Sangerville was perfect! The cabin was so cozy and well appointed, and we were able to really relax and unwind. Also really appreciate the surplus of really great firewood - made our daily evening fires easy to get going and really added to our stay! We would absolutely come back to this property in the future!!

Great Getaway

This was a fantastic and relaxing getaway vacation for our family. The property had so many amenities and the lake was absolutely beautiful. We had perfect weather and really had no reason to leave the property because there was so much to do. Thank you!

Wonderful retreat

The property exceeded our expectations. It had everything we needed, including a well-stocked kitchen and lake toys. Communications with the owner were smooth, with quick responses. We had a great time and wished we could stay longer.

Fantastic location and beautiful home!

We had a great time at this gorgeous home! Lake was wonderful and the guys enjoyed plenty of fishing time! We we're blessed to have awesome weather all week. Martha's communication was great!! We will for sure be back!❤️

Exceptional rental all-around!

Exceptional rental! All the comforts of home but in a peaceful, cozy setting. Our family went to ice fish, snowmobile, (there is trail access via the frozen lake) and just get away. Excellent hosts who thought of everything for your stay! The kids (and adults) loved the popcorn machine!

A hidden gem

The house is amazing! It’s relaxing with the fire pit and pond right in the back yard. The house is very spacious ...it definitely feels like home. The owners are very kind and making sure you have everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your home...

Swim time

Maybe next time we can swim out to the dock. I think the water was too shallow for the dock. Little sandy area was great for little ones.

BEAUTIFUL!!!

Loon's Nest is absolutely beautiful! From the spacious, clean, well appointed cabin to the gorgeous view of the lake, to the sounds of Loons calling to each other at night, our whole family (7 of us) loved our time here. Just wished it was longer! The owners went so far and beyond anything we've experienced in a rental before. So helpful! Thank you Martha and Darroll for your amazing hospitality and generosity!

Perfect Maine get away

The home is perfectly located on a beautiful quiet lake. Plenty of yard to grill and play games. The house itself has absolutely everything you need! It’s literally the perfect vacation get away. If it happens to rain, there are plenty of board games and a ping pong table downstairs which for us turned into a nightly activity! Definitely do a moose safari, that was a lot of fun. Owners are quick to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I highly recommend this rental, we will be back!!

Thank you, John, that is what we aim to do! Message me before making a future reservation—you will get a discount as a return guest, in addition to the weekly one. We may have to skip renting next year due to garage construction but will be back for 2023.

Tranquility and relaxation abound

We had a wonderful and relaxing experience at this gorgeous Sangerville rental. Martha was wonderful and literally thought of everything to make our week absolutely perfect. Cannot thank her enough!The house was fully equipped with everything one could need . The kitchen was wonderful, I was delighted to see so many spices, made cooking a joy! The house itself was just beautiful, loved the decor, so welcoming and absolutely charming. The location being right on the pond was wonderful. We enjoyed the water everyday and loved simply being one with nature. We all enjoyed our week immensely.

What a place!

The property was absolutely everything it was shown to be and more! After a trek down the winding (well maintained) dirt road you pop out at this gem. Extremely clean and has everything you need and then some. The bed in the master bedroom is hands down the most comfortable thing I’ve ever slept in. Plenty of fishing (my husband caught large and small mouth bass, blue gill & pickerel off the dock) and a beautiful covered porch to enjoy the views. This was a special trip for us as we plan on becoming Mainers ourselves and the house just set the experience over the top.

Loon’s Nest

We recently enjoyed some quality family time at this stunning lakefront home for the 4th year in a row. We’re hesitant to share how wonderful it is because we’d like to keep it our secret! The home is private and quiet with quality furnishings. Very comfortable beds and furniture. Everything you need is there including special touches like a basket of hand towels with toothbrushes, razors, shaving cream, shampoo, conditioner etc. It was warm and cozy for a November vacation and looks like the perfect summer vacation spot with fire pit and dock with kayaks and canoes. We would definitely recommend this property for a rental.

Amazing COVID Getaway

Traveled to Maine with our 3 young boys to this perfect getaway that we will be sure to return to!! From start to finish everything was perfect. Beautiful home and ground, clean, quiet, excellent fishing and swimming for kids. Everything you need at your finger tips including many special extras...makings for s'mores, popcorn, wood in fire pit, yummy coffee...the list goes on. Chartered fishing boat at Moosehead Lake and visited Acadia/Bar Harbor close by. Owners so nice and excellent communication on property, especially in COVID time. 5+++ Thanks for well needed rest, relaxation and fun!

Beautiful & relaxing

We had such a great time at this house. There were eight of us—six adults and two kids—and we were all able to sleep comfortably, cook together, sit together for meals, find space to relax alone or together. The pond was incredibly inviting and idyllic. We had a great time taking out the canoe and kayaks and fishing. The yard was great too, feeling isolated and private even with neighbors around. We built a fire in the fire pit several nights and made s'mores and relaxed under the stars while listening to loons. I think we all would have liked a second bedroom with a door/some additional privacy, but that was a minor complaint. Thank you for sharing this wonderful space with us!

Glad you had such a great time and enough space! We do have plans to add a garage on in the next 3 to 5 years. We will keep your suggestion of a second “closed off” bedroom and perhaps, we may add that into the plan for the garage. Either way, we hope you’ll stay again if you have reason to return to the area!

Perfect Getaway

This property was exactly what I was looking for: warm, comfort, clean, property in secluded getaway next to a beautiful lake. I enjoyed hearing the Loon calls versus traffic or people. Everythign was beautiful as pictured, with the added benefit of christmas lights in the rafters giving the living space a warm glow in the evenings. I had a few questions for Martha, who replied back very quickly and was always generous in her response so I didn't feel I was inconvenincing her. Althought I did not partake, it was very sweet she left a basket for s'mores makings on the counter. Can't recommend Loon's Nest enough for anyone looking for a quiet getaway to Maine with lake access!

Beauty, Peace, and Adventure

If Heaven on Earth exists, then “Loons Nest” is that place! We wanted to book a beautiful, peaceful and secluded spot to relax and get away from the craziness of our everyday lives, but not too far from shopping, restaurants, and adventure! We found all that and a whole lot more with Loons Nest. The owners were wonderful from the very 1st day I contacted them, all the way until after we checked out. Not only were they very kind to me, but they were always quick with responding to any questions that we had. The home was extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, and was supplied with EVERYTHING you will ever need and a whole lot more! This was an amazing experience for my family and me, and it is one in which I will NEVER forget! Thank you for the wonderful memories! We hope we will have the opportunity to come back some day!

We WILL return!!!

I was impressed when I first reached out to Martha prior to our booking. I had so many questions and uncertainties with COVID, the kids schooling, travel bans, etc. She ensured me no matter what happened they would be sure we were taken care of, which we were! From start to finish everything was perfect. When you read the reviews about the hosts providing you all the comforts of home. You don't really understand that until you get there. Everything I needed or possibly forgot at home was there. The property was beautiful, the beds were great (coming from a person with major back issues), it was clean, great fishing, peaceful, secluded and the most amazing hosts. I really could go on and on about our trip. We definitely hit the jackpot when we found this property. My husband was born in Maine so finding this home away from home where we can come and visit his family is priceless to us and we cannot wait to come back!!!

Wonderful lakeside cabin!

Had a great time! As soon as we stepped in to the home we were so pleased. Looked and smelled super clean. We put our food in fridge and got down to the dock, proceeded to get into vacation mode. It was easy! Location is great, very rural, which we like. Walking the dirt road was peaceful and surrounded by a whole lot of nothing other than woods and fields. The lawn games provided were appreciated and used by my family a lot. Fun! Beds were super comfy and the kitchen had everything one needed to make meals and space to spread out and enjoy. Every amenity really was here and we used them all. Cozy ambiance in the cabin with all the lights and candles. Lots of porch sitting, campfires and smores, grilling, swimming, floating and good family times all around. Saw bald eagles and the views from dock were pretty. Very quiet. Almost nobody on the lake until Friday night. We really never left! It was a little sad when the week was done. Thanks for sharing your home and making it feel like it was ours. I would definitely return.
