Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes on the eastern shores of Cayuga Lake sit two wonderful cottages on a large lakeside parcel, just north of the village of Union Springs, NY. Spectacular views to enjoy on the deck, great swimming, boating, and fishing yet close to marina/restaurants,
public boat launch,grocery stores, pizza and ice cream stands.10 Minutes to Auburn, rich in history,The Seward House, Harriet Tubman Home, museums, summer theatre, and of course Wegmans.Nearby attractions- Women's Rights National Historic Park, Montezuma Wildlife refuge.MacKenzie-Childs Pottery, local wineries and breweries.The property has great shade trees, room for parking, or setting up a badminton court.Plenty of space for the entire group to relax or explore the 250 ft of shoreline. Dock extends into lake, gradual walk into the lake great for kids. Rental fee on calendar are per cottage per night.Both can be rented for family reunions and a discount allowed. Beautiful view! Very nice, cozy little cottage. Can watch the magnificent sunsets from the comfort of the couch. And very nice to be able to get to the water right out back. All in all, we had a fun week together with our dog. Some FYIs...Was not expecting to have to drive through a RV park to get to it. Thankfully it was very quiet during the week, only got a little less peaceful on the weekends. There is no hot tub like the listing says. I verified this with the owner beforehand so not a complaint just a FYI.Some cons...Not very clean. There were crumbs all over the countertops and tables. The pans in the oven had oil and crumbs all over them. The coffee mugs were stained and not clean either. A lot of spiderwebs in corners of the rooms (but to be fair they reappear quickly)Also, there was only enough dish soap and hand soap for 1 day. Wound up buying it for ourselves when I went to get groceries along with paper towels and toilet paper. Only 1 and a partial roll of each provided. Again to be fair, I didn't ask the owner for more, but for the price would have expected this all to be provided. Lastly, the bed was hard as a rock. Was forced to buy a foam mattress topper from walmart to get any sleep.

Very nice cottage, well equipped. We loved the lake, and the access from the cottage is good. It was very private for us, as the cottage that shares access to the dock and the small 'beach' was vacant during our stay. The host is very responsive, and that was much appreciated. Overall, a good experience.

Sunset Cottage

Lovely cottage with beautiful view of Cayuga Lake. Watching the sun set every evening was great. We visited a couple of wineries. The cottage was well equipped. The owner was a pleasure to work with.

Perfect fall retreat

The home’s location is stellar! Beautiful views of Cayuga Lake. Phenomenal sunsets! It’s quiet and serene. House was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed. Midge is a wonderful host! We can’t wait to return! Elderberry Pond has delicious farm-to-table meals.

Lakefront Getaway

We were looking for a quiet fall getaway with lakefront views, sunsets, and access to kayaks. We found that in this quaint cabin. We appreciated that the cabin was pet-friendly. The fire pit by the water was lovely, and the views from the deck were fabulous. We spent time reading, taking walks, and enjoying the fresh air while cooking simple meals.

Nice place and close to everything we wanted to see.

We had a great time there. The cottage is nice but could use air conditioning in the main bedroom. It was cozy and the view was spectacular, especially at sunset. For those with littles, be aware that there is a drop off just beyond the deck that could pose a problem for the littles, and you need water shoes to take advantage of the lake. It's a rocky shoreline and even with water shoes, I slipped on the rocks and got some minor cuts and scrapes. That being said, we had a great time and didn't have any problems with noise in the neighborhood until the weekend. We had great neighbors in the other cabin, but they used the firepit by the water every night so we ended up leaving without any bonfires since we didn't feel safe having a bonfire directly under a tree with low hanging branches. The owner was quick to respond to any any issues that arose. incitesproblem,

Fun at the Lake!

My family of 5 had the best time at the little green Sunset Cottage! It is well equipped with everything you would need for a trip to the lake - kitchenware, towels, extra blankets if needed, kayaks, even a few kids toys outside. Very comfy and cozy! The outdoor space is fantastic between the two outdoor porches and the lakeside seating below. The shallow grade of the lake made this a wonderful place for our 3 kids to swim and play without worry of being too deep. Perfect sunset views and a nice breeze to boot! We look forward to staying here again!

Eclipse rental

We stayed here to experience the eclipse, and were the first renters of the season. This charming cottage is right on the water, is very well appointed, and is located near many wineries and Cornell University. There was a bit of an ant problem, but it was not a major issue overall.

Delightful Cottage

We spent a week here. Very clean, great location, can’t beat the view of the lake. Very quiet neighborhood. Midge was excellent with communication. Looking forward to return.

Nice time on the lake+

Trip purpose was college visits, but we had so much fun with the Kayaks and touring around on non visit days...we will be back! Bonus our mini schnauzer joined us. Property manager was super on point.

Beautiful Lake and Cozy Cottage

This cottage was very cozy, clean and comfortable. The vicinity of being right on the lake was picturesque. Ducks were on the pier everyday and we saw an eagle fishing for food. My husband would have preferred to have a fire in the evening, however he did not feel that was possible with the proximity of the firepits. We will be back to the area someday because the wineries were superb!

Perfect Sunset Cottage

Perfect cottage overlooking Cayuga Lake. Super clean and everything you might possibly need is provided, except the food, Ha! That’s what Wegmans in Auburn is for…fabulous market, and also the markets in Union Springs. Only complaint…the weather…Rain! Otherwise, perfect!

Relax and Wine

We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy cottage. Being able to sit on the deck in the mornings and early evenings was absolutely wonderful. We watched a pair of eagles fish for breakfast and dinner a few days. The cottage had everything the three of us needed for a relaxing week exploring the Finger Lakes region. The location was quiet and felt very safe. We were concerned when we arrived that the air conditioner was in the bunk bedroom instead of the common area, but in the end the cottage stayed pleasantly cool during our visit despite temps in the 90s a few days. The cottage is away from the busiest areas of the Finger Lakes, which makes it a peaceful retreat. We highly recommend getting food to go from nearby Salt of the Earth. It is close enough that everything was still hot when we got it home. The dinner we got there was delicious and we wished we had known about it sooner. Fargo Bar and Grill down in Aurora is another great nearby choice for food while you are exploring the area. Things to know - The steps down to the water are very secure and there is not a crazy number of them. I have had multiple knee surgeries so I was concerned, but I felt quite comfortable heading down to the water. The cottage has no closets and the only dresser is in the primary bedroom. With 3 adults staying for 9 nights, that was a bit of a challenge for those of us who like to unpack and let the wrinkles settle out of our clothes. The owner was easy to contact with questions. We will definitely put this on the list of properties we would stay in again.

Cozy cottage with a great view

Excellent lakeside cottage

We had a very positive experience with our stay in this lakeside cottage. Convenient location for our daily excursions visiting wineries and water falls in the area. Cottage is updated and very clean and functional. Excellent location to view the lake from the deck or from the living room. We had a rainy Sunday so this was the first time I sat on a sofa to watch football and also looked outside at a beautiful lake. Great communication with the owner.

LOVED THE LAKE

THE NEARNESS TO THE LAKE WAS FANTASTIC. One suggestion would make is to place the welcome mat at the bottom of the steps. My husband thought he was on the last step(missed that 2nd step going down) and fell and broke 3 ribs. We still went on and did all that we had planned and coming back to the tranquility of that porch and the sunsets was the best medicine he could have received. Joan and Jerry
