This special property has a lot to offer, steps from the many shops, galleries and restaurants of Arroyo Seco Village, yet in a park-like setting with tranquil gardens. Enjoy a nap or a good book in the lazy hammock hanging in the shady apple orchard, or take a walk to our local tavern, pottery shops or farm-fresh restaurants.

Our two-story territorial style home is quite cozy with both a gas and wood fireplace, and plenty of pinion, aspen and cedar firewood to choose from. Furnished in true Southwest New Mexican charm, our guests love the sunset views from the hot tub on the upper deck. This house features a comfy king-sized bed in the upstairs bedroom, as well as a full-sized Murphy bed in the downstairs living room. We keep the cupboards stocked with some food, condiments and coffee to make you stay home-like. We welcome well behaved pets.

One thing to note, the spiral staircase to the upstairs is a bit steep and spiral. A couple guests with disabilities have suggested that I note this here as a caution to those who find steep spiral staircases challenging. The vast majority of our guests have no issue with the staircase and enjoy the charm.

Arroyo Seco is a picturesque village perfectly located in the mountains half-way between the Taos ski Valley (10 minutes) and Taos (7 minutes). The village has everything needed for a relaxing and comfortable vacation, with inspired restaurants, artsy shops, and a forested, mountain setting with fruit trees and some of the most interesting people to spend some time with. Arroyo Seco offers some of the best locally made art, pottery, wool and crafts in the area, as well as, world-class skiing, gorgeous hiking, biking and cross-country trails, hot springs, streams, waterfalls, fishing, and plenty of recreational opportunities in the close area. The vibe and location cannot be beat.

The Hot Tub was clean, made for two, private. I'm concerned about the cover which looks like it is on it's last legs. I know those are hard to replace.

Cabin needs help

This was my first VRBO experience. Myself and one family member rented the cabin for two nights. It was very dark with wires to lights running all over and extremely unsafe. My daughter is a firefighter. To my standards it was dirty and screens to windows are hanging, microwave didnā€™t turn, old icky hot tub and stains on bedding and the irrigation drip system was on during the rain and leaks. Quite frankly it was so disappointing we discussed turning around and coming home. There are just too many unsafe and substandard items to list here. I was glad I took my sleeping bag and my pillows and sheets. The deck upstairs has huge gaps and cigarette butts. No way was I going to use the hot tub. The curtains need a good washing and the floors were filthy. I looked for a swiffer but only could find a dirty old mop that would only have been unsanitary. The little village was very nice and a life saver. I cannot believe this place could be up to code. Some lights when turned on quiver as if there is a short or open and seem very unsafe. It was expensive for what you get. We would never go back and had wished we stayed in a hotel. Personally, I have traveled quite a bit and to various countries and this cabin was my worst experience. The wood pile up against the house should be moved. The outside area was so junky I did not want to sit on anything amongst weeds and debris.I hesitated to write this review, but it is bad enough I think others should know.

Quick NM getaway

We stayed for two nights. Great location away from crowds. The space had good energy and was very comfortable. We really enjoyed having some good food just steps from the front door from 2 great restaurants. I'd definitely stay again. Looking forward to it. Thanks.

Wonderful location, great for retreat

The property is in the heart of the village, but feels like a forest retreat.Just enough people around to not feel secluded, and to still have peace & quiet. The surroundings are peaceful, with amazing views of the sunrise, sunset, mountains, and dark night skies for star gazing on the deck, in the hot tub

Great location

Great location, nice southwest charm, well furnished.When required to use a heat source, difficult to regulate temperature upstairs with all heat rising from living area. Figure opening window or door to regulate temperature.

Just loved the feel of this place. Not far from Taos. Very cozy. Some people complained on reviews about the staircase but it was not something that was of concern. I think it gave it charm. Better than I expected

Loved our stay

We loved our stay! The house is stylish, clean and truly special not to mention in an amazing location. It is a mere two minute walk to a cute local market, tasty restaurants and charming shops. The sunset view and the star-gazing from the jacuzzi on the balcony were the icing on the cake. We appreciated being able to build a fire and watch a great movie on Amazon Prime. It was the most spectacular birthday getaway ever. Brian was a great host and gave us great suggestions for things to do in the area. We will be back.

No internet and Owner Lied about it. Only 1 bedroom.

Tv wasnt working when arrived and then 12 hours later internet no longer worked.Internet provider informed me owner oeed $352. 04. Owner ( Brian Hammer) lied about it and said internet was out due to bad weather. WARNING:One bed comes from wall in closet and IS NOT a bedroom!!! When told owner to pay bill, he suggested we leave the premises! Owner REFUSED to refund 5% of money back due to problems!!!! IF YOU WANT TERRIBLE SERVICE AND BE LIED TO AND DISRESPECTFED, STAY HERE!

Great experience

Arroyo Seco had two wonderful restaurants in walking distance that we tried. Brian was a very gracious host. This place is cute, and I could see it being very nice for a family--kids downstairs and adults with a space of their own in the loft.

The perfect cabin

Cozy cabin that has it all. We had the best time and the location is perfect for a ski trip of a lifetime in Taos Ski Valley. Very clean and the sheets smelled like home. Easy checkout process. Jacuzzi was warm upon arrival. Loved starting a wood fire but plenty of other options for heating.

Charming architecture, comfortable stay!

This house is unique, cozy, charming and in an amazing location! The bed was comfy and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook a lovely dinner. After dinner we enjoyed the sunset soaking in the hot tub on the rooftop deck. In the morning, we walked literally two minutes to a delicious breakfast cafƩ with great food. We loved the property and look forward to staying here again.

Cozy little Casita

Spent one night for our anniversary. The home was extremely clean and comfortable. We had reservations at lamberts but there are a couple of really good restaurants within walking distance. The only bummer was the hot tub was not hot and took until check out to heat up so we didn't get to enjoy that, which was specifically why we chose this property. The host was very pleasant and welcoming. We would definitely rent this property again, it would be perfect for a ski weekend.

Wonderful

Better than expected! House was clean, comfortable, homey, and very convenient. So happy with everything-and will certainly stay there again. Loved the upper deck and private hot tub, bathroom and kitchen had all the essentials, and the turntable brought back great memories of my teen years!!!

Peaceful? Charm? You should pass.

The second floor bedroom was at least 100 degrees when we arrived at5PM. It did eventually cool down by 10PM, enough so that we could sleep, only by using 2 fans and opening all windows. There is no air-conditioning. The bedroom is upstair (the staircase is a dangerous spiral w NO railings) and the one bathroom is downstairs. The deck was very old and I scraped my foot on a screw that was sticking up by the hot tub. The so-called "garden" was a mess, we did not even want to spend any time out there. Each morning the area smelled like skunks and at night neighborhood dogs barked incessantly. There is a house next door within 10 feet on one side and 15 feet on the other and another building 5 feet behind the rental...no privacy! Luckily there was no one on either side. The details of the downstair woodwork are almost charming but the furniture, sheets, lighting were all so ugly the charm was lost. Do NOT recommend.
