Kanai A Nalu (“Gentle Breeze”) is located in Maalaea; a place often called “Maui’s best kept secret”. Our condo is direct OCEANFRONT, BEACHFRONT! You simply cannot get any closer to the ocean than our beautifully upgraded, ground floor unit!

From the lanai, gaze out and watch the sun rise over Haleakala (House of the Sun), the long dormant 10,000 foot volcano. Watch green sea turtles bobbing up for air and rolling in the surf, even sunning themselves on the beach. In the winter months (Nov-April) you will have a front row seat to breaching whales as they come back to the islands to give birth and nurse their young in the warm Hawaiian waters. In the summer months during a good south swell, you can watch surfers on the legendary surf break “Freight Trains”, one of the world’s fastest surfable waves.

Brew yourself a cup of freshly ground Kona coffee and make up a plate of local papaya, mango and bananas and sit out on the lanai with the Pacific Ocean just steps away. Why settle for less when you’ve come all this way to experience paradise?

You may find that a week (or even a month) is not enough time to fully appreciate this place. We welcome long-term renters, retirees and snowbirds to come and stay awhile!
Kids are welcome too: we provide the playpen, highchair and beach toys. They’ll love swimming in the complex pool and picking bananas from the tree right beside the lanai!

Be one of the first to enjoy our recently remodeled ground floor 2 bed, 2 bath condo. Travertine floors throughout, new granite countertops and all new furnishings. Details are important to us, that is why we transported unique lighting fixtures thousands of miles in our suitcases and made custom accent bedding and pillows for the bedrooms. We’ve installed some great perks like electric blinds, plantation shutters and a wine cooler. Even the things that may not be noticeable like quality fixtures, nice doors and a good quiet garbage disposal all work together to create a luxurious feeling.
On top of that we filled the space with original local art from Maui artisans. In the living room, we have showcased the beautiful fine art photography of Christopher Eagan (Lahaina). In the kitchen we had 2 large custom tile mosaics crafted by Makena Tile. In the master bath, a floor to ceiling bamboo design in etched tile by Janie Aldrige.

The Master Suite is truly a oceanfront retreat, with a King sized platform bed, flat screen TV and decadent white bedding with custom accent pillows. The Master bath is luxurious with a huge walk-in shower and double vanities with wall to wall mirrors reflecting all the beautiful surroundings and ocean views.
Before bed, take one last look at the moonlight shimmering on the Pacific and fall asleep listening to the rhythmic sound of the surf.
The guest bedroom has 2 Tommy Bahama styled twin beds with gel foam mattress toppers, clean crisp white bedding and custom made accent linens made from vintage Alfred Shaheen (the man behind the iconic Hawaiian Shirts) fabrics. The bedroom also has a small flat screen TV with cable and a cooling ceiling fan.

The kitchen of our condo is well equipped for those who want to cook and Kanai A Nalu has a BBQ area near the heated pool located in the center of the complex.
Our unit offers guests free long distance within the US and Canada as well as secure, high speed WiFi. 42” Flat screen TV with cable.
Maalaea’s trade winds provide a cooling breeze that keeps the temperatures just right, although we have a timer controlled A/C in the living room just in case.

We provide the beach toys, snorkel sets, boogie boards, skim board, sand toys & beach chairs...so grab some toys and explore your eco-diverse surroundings. Amazing boogie boarding, paddle boarding and snorkeling right in front of our unit!
20 steps off the lanai, and your toes are in the sand of one of Maui’s longest beaches. 4 miles of secluded sand to walk, run and beachcomb. You won’t find any crowds though because access to the beach is protected from the road by the bird-filled-ponds of Kealia Wildlife Refuge. It is so amazing to walk this beach and literally feel like you have it all to yourself!

A 5 minute walk in the opposite direction takes you to Maalaea Harbor where you will find a small grocery store, deli, craft market, restaurants and the Maui Ocean Center (Maui’s #1 tourist attraction), the Pacific Whale Foundation, miniature golf, shopping and most of the ocean activities available on Maui (sunset dinner cruises, deep sea fishing, snorkeling tours & whale watching).
Centrally located Maalaea, makes getting anywhere on the island easy. 15 minutes from the airport, a 5 minute drive south and you are in the long village of Kihei and a bit further, the ritzy resorts of Wailea. Twenty minutes to the west is the old whaling village of Lahaina, with it’s magnificent Banyan Tree and shopping galleries. You couldn’t be in a better location to explore all Maui has to offer.
