It's time to turn on your Out of Office and get away for a relaxing getaway to Deep Creek Lake. Valley Lodge is a remarkable newly built 5 bedroom log home located in the prestigious community of Fantasy Valley. Overlooking a breathtaking landscape of rolling mountains, valleys and the pristine fairways of Fantasy Valley Golf Course, you will spend every day in awe of the beauty that surrounds you.

Expansive vaulted ceilings combine with spectacular wide planked hardwood floors to create an aesthetic atmosphere in the Great Room. Add in a massive stone fireplace and bright open windows and doors and you will quickly know why this is everyone's favorite gathering space. The outdoor living space on the deck is easily accessible and very large when you want cocktails or meals outside or just want to step outside for a moment to enjoy the fresh mountain air. Inaccurate description

The property and location were great. House was nice and updated well. However, we chose this property due to some of the entertainment it offered - pool table and foosball table. The pool table you had to put money in it to play and even when you did it still didn’t give you the balls. All the men on the foosball table had the feet broken off. Don’t advertise or even show the pictures of it if you cannot use it. It would have been fine if we knew this ahead of time - it was just a bummer when we got there and saw it.

Easy and efficient

Enjoyed the location. Plenty of room. Plenty of rainy day things to do. Easy access to restaurants, groceries, and activities.

Bad Experience

Was like buying a house with all the forms that needed to be signed. Asked for names and ages of everyone staying and asked for more than what I had said was staying and wouldn't let me proceed with forms until that was filled in. Had to have photo id, and picture of my credit card, which all of this I've never had to do before with a rental! Was not receiving emails, and I had not received info on address or how to get in to the property, so I called and they said they were waiting on me to sign the credit card form, which I had not received an email asking for that. They resent while on the phone with me, and I still did not receive. So I had to drive to the office to sign the form, which was ridiculous because the already had my money!! My father had passed away and I was here visiting from AZ and had to rush over 30 minutes away to sign this form and rush back to the funeral home. The home was mediocre. Nothing special. There were no trash bags in the kitchen waste baskets so we had to get those. The coffee pot leaked grounds into the pot. The day of my dads funeral I received a phone call from the property manager saying they had the part in to fix the dishwasher and wanted to know if I wanted them to come fix it that day or wait till I checked out. I had not even been told that it wasn't working or that there was a problem with it, but there was dirty silverware in the drawer when we went to use some. There was also some mold in the master shower. The entrance to the home was very awkward and not normal. Just was not a good experience and I would never stay in this home again or use Taylormade Realty for renting a property.

excellent place to relax

Beautiful location, the scenery, the quietness helps to relax; our staying in the house was great, BUT I have to complaint that the bed sheet & bed cover have little stain on it and, one of the pillow (the one I slept on) smells like pee, also the jacuzzi was dirty (the water has a green color and smell bad). But defenetely I would recomend it!!!

Lovely setting for a family trip

The location of this property was gorgeous, and there was lots of space for our extended family to spread out and relax. We loved the wrap around back deck and spent a lot of time out there. The house had some odd quirks- all of the lights in the bathrooms were really dim, the furniture somewhat cheap and worn out- which didn’t diminish our time there but was surprising given the high cost of the house. The hot tub cover was also literally falling apart and leaking bits of its lining into the hot tub. We expecting a place a little better maintained for the price we paid. Overall we had a lovely time and it was a nice space, but it needs some tlc.

Great location, average accommodations

The location was great and the view was lovely. The porch was particularly inviting and the house easily accommodated 10 people. The amenities were lacking, though. The hot tub broke after 3 days. Towels were scarce and we had to wash almost every day to have enough. There were only 2 pillows on each queen bed. The flat sheet as well as the comforter on the queen beds barely fit (not wide enough) and didn't really accommodate 2 people well. The double sinks in the shared bathrooms were nice, but only one hand towel holder means all 4 people were using it and dripping water across the bathroom floor and the sinks. Because the pantry was used as an owner's closet, there was nowhere to store the food we brought and we had to leave it out all over the counters. Several emails were sent prior to arrival through the online portal but none were responded to.

Deceptive advertising on price

The home was very nice and spacious. We felt deceived though, when the home turned out to cost twice as much as we anticipated from the initial advertisting, with exorbitant service fees and taxes added on. A hotel may add taxes, but they don't cause a 100% increase in the advertised price. This should be changed to represent more clearly what the actual cost is. We enjoyed our visit, but paid much more than expected for it.

Great Getaway for the Family

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here for a few days in the summer. The property is gorgeous, expansive, and homey. We appreciated the scenic views from the deck, the ability to use the hot tub, and the nice living area in the basement, and big bathrooms and bedrooms. We even spotted a bear nearby on the golf course! Our group of 10 plus two small dogs fit comfortably in the house. If you are traveling with individuals who may have limited mobility or are handicapped, the only thing I would suggest is to take note that this property is 3 stories with steep stairs from the basement to the second floor which houses the kitchen. It may be best to have any individual with limited mobility to either stay on the bottom floor completely or on second floor as that is where the food items are stored. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and hope to return again soon!

Very nice

The property and view were very nice. It was perfect for a get a way. The only disappointment was the hot tub not working. We had cool, rainy weather and that would have been nice to use. I would definitely go back.

Great getaway

The house is great and so is the location. Beautiful views; quiet neighborhood; close to many of Deep Creek's activities. I'd definitely stay here again.

Great Stay During Lockdown

Spent a long weekend at this beautiful property to get away from the stay-at-home monotony during the COVID-19 pandemic. The house is beautifully situated, overlooking the golf course with the mountains in the background; but close enough to Wisp, the lake, and other activities. Lots of space both inside and out for the family to either gather or be on their own. We really enjoyed the house and would definitely love to come back during another season. There were a couple of maintenance issues but these were not consequential. And we also saw a bear each day (or the same bear each day) walking along the wood line of the golf course so be careful, particularly if you have a dog. The only suggestion would be that a television is sorely needed in the main living room, and to upgrade the cable/satellite package. Great stay for the family - would highly recommend it.

Beautiful location

Nice location. We were able to see wildlife in the yard and on the golf course. Not many people on the golf course. Quick drive to McHenry for groceries, restaurants. Only complaint would be that you have to provide your own soap, extra toilet paper, paper towels, etc. Other properties with VRBO usually provide this with the understanding that if you use the last of the aluminum foil, or whatever, you replace it. Also, you are responsible for removing all trash and taking it to the dumpster at the entrance of the street.

Family Fun at Deep Creek

Reviewer Comments: My family and I had a wonderful time and a very pleasant experience with Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacation and Sales. The rental process was simple and easy. You just call the office with any questions. We stayed in the Valley Lodge home which was like a cabin. It was large with great windows with views, very clean, plenty of room for our group of 10. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed plus more dishes, utensils and small appliances than we needed. There were even dish towels, placemats and tablecloths. There were board games and cards, nice sized bedrooms and good options for sleeping, relaxing and just hanging out together. The yard was great too for our outdoor activities. We enjoyed the activities at Wisp Resort which was 5 minutes away. That included the mountain coaster. zip lining and an escape room! We enjoyed paddleboarding on the lake and the nearby shops. We highly recommend Taylor-Made!

Great house--skimpy supplies

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was lovely vacation home nicely furnished and including amenities like a well equipped playroom for the kids, a wrap around deck with lovely hill views, and a wealth of appliances and kitchen ware. What made it difficult to keep up such a big place was the lack of paper goods like paper towels, dish detergent & bath tissue, as well as dish cloths and kitchen towels for cleanup. These inexpensive items should be provided for the entire stay, not forcing the renter to run to the store when they too quickly run out. Also, there were multiple wasp/hornet nests in the eaves, which made deck play a bit treacherous for the kids. We have stayed at many ski lodges, air bnbs and other rentals which do provide such things for the length of the stay, so I suggest Taylor Made review its policies regarding supplies.

Here is a little more information: - Property Location, Amenities, and Layout - 5 Stars. The location overlooks the beautiful Fantasy Valley Golf course. It is near the end of a quiet mountainside cul-de-sac. While Fantasy Valley Lane was fine for walking the dog, everything else was within driving distance. Deck is amazing and gas-line grill was terrific. Upstairs master suite is huge, but the other bedrooms are sufficient for one or two guests. The hot tub worked great for six adults and two teens. - Cleanliness and Maintenance - 5 stars. Property looks brand new. It was very well-maintained. All linens and towels were in near-perfect condition. - Customer Service - 5 Stars. You can’t say enough about the customer service from Taylor-Made. We called about a question or two and they helpful and cheerful. Check-in and check-out were very easy. We could not find the hot tub key so we called and someone ran the key over to us in 5 minutes. Overall, we would highly recommend this property to a family or group of families. The common areas are spacious and it is perfect for a getaway. We liked the nearby Swallow Falls State Park and the Deep Creek Lake State Park. We cooked at the house most nights for dinner, which worked out great for our group.

An Awesome Place Right on the Course

It has plenty of space inside for a big group of people, and everything is very nice and new. The huge deck is perfect for hanging out and playing cornhole. Although there are a few houses nearby, it has it's own large space and is at the end of a cul-de-sac, making for nice privacy and not having to worry about making too much noise. Overall, it was perfect for a weekend getaway for a group of 10-15 guys who played golf as well.

Every Thanksgiving

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Every year we meet our east coast family and our Midwest family at Deep Creek. It's hard to find a house that will accommodate all of us. This home was more than adequate and had such nice open spaces that made the cooking people and the game people and the football watching people feel like we were all still together. For a large group this is a very nice option. Unfortunately we will not be booking this home for another meeting because several of us older folks found the steps to all the levels a bit too much and the beds were very hard and uncomfortable for those of us with back issues. But if you are young and healthy this is a wonderful rental, close to everything with great views of the golf course and surrounding hills. It has everything you need and lots of it, which is great if you don't want to be doing dishes the whole time!
