Peaceful Escape in the Woods

Escape to this charming, secluded cabin nestled on 11 private acres in the woods. Ideal for both short getaways and extended stays, this cabin offers the perfect blend of comfort and adventure.

Inside, you'll find a cozy living room with a wood-burning fireplace, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, stove, sink, refrigerator/freezer, so you can enjoy home-cooked meals. For entertainment, the cabin includes a TV with a DVD player, VCR, and a collection of movies. Stay connected with high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, making it easy to work remotely or stream your favorite shows while surrounded by nature.

With three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious loft, the cabin comfortably accommodates groups of all sizes. The master bedroom features a queen bed and a private half bath, while the second bedroom has two twin beds. The third bedroom and loft both have queen beds, with the loft also offering three additional twin beds (one queen and 3 twin beds in the loft). A full bathroom is conveniently located in the hallway between the bedrooms.

Step outside to the large back deck, where you can take in the fresh mountain air and cook on the grill in total privacy. Whether you’re looking to unwind or get active, this cabin is your perfect mountain retreat.

Pets are welcome, and the cabin is a no-smoking zone.

Enjoy the peacefulness of the mountains or dive into outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, biking, canoeing, sight-seeing, or golfing. The possibilities are endless!

Family weekend in the forest

We had a terrific long weekend at Theresa and Jay's cabin in the forest. There was plenty of room inside for everyone and a great front porch for hanging out. This is a great spot for an outdoor-themed stay in the forest and mountains of central Pa.

Wonderful stay - everything was perfect

Had a perfect stay at the Peaceful Escape in the Woods. It’s rare when everything is as expected and even more so when it exceeds expectations. We had a wonderful stay, everything was as advertised and everything was functional. Very clean and comfortable and the owners communication was superior and friendly. I gues the best review would be the answer to “would you stay there again” and our answer is a resounding YES!

Weekend stay for recreation

This cabin was absolutely amazing!! Therese is the best!! The place was clean, well kept, beautiful and the area was spectacular! Our host even accomadated our Changing plans as our stay went, some aspects of our trip had changed and they were understanding and superbly helpful with everything!! I will certainly be staying here again!!

Heaven on Earth

This was our third time staying here and each time is even better than the last. We stayed for two whole weeks this time. Theresa is the best hostess I have ever dealt with. She even left us a gift to add to our enjoyment. The place is always clean and there is always some firewood for us to use. It is so quiet and peaceful. Such a beautiful place to go to get away from the Hussle and bussle.

Great un-plugged R&R retreat for PSU weekend

Incredible.

We were so lucky to find this property to rent for the weekend. My husband ran in the Eastern States 100 miler race and we needed a spot that would help us crew him but also support my 3 very young daughters. This place was beautiful, supportive, clean and everything you could need. We felt so taken care of from the owners and they were so helpful during this stressful weekend for us. Peaceful and quiet!

We had a great vacation at Jay and Theresa's property! We seen a lot of deer and even a few bear. The property is out there so there wasn't any phone service in the immediate area but they had a land line set up for emergencies. I enjoyed being unplugged for the week. There is a lot to do in the area if you enjoy the outdoors.

A Great Place to Get Away

It was perfect! Our family stayed for a week and it was just what we needed. The property has plenty of land and is near an abundance of parks, trails and hunting ground. Our dogs loved it! The house itself is well furnished and cozy. A perfect place to return and warm up after a day of hiking. If you like being outdoors or just want to get away from the world a bit and read by a fire, this is a good place to do it.

Peace and tranquility

We just left this cabin and I couldn't wait to leave a review. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to go. It sits on top of a mountain with little or no vehicle activity. No one travels down the road it's off of unless they live around there. Neighbors are few and far between. There are no words to describe how quiet it is at night while sitting on the back deck or under the front porch in the morning. The fire pit is huge for rotating marshmallows or hot dogs etc. The inside is big and bright and beautiful with all the comforts of home. The indoor fire place is really nice for the cooler evenings. We felt right at home. Theresa is a wonderful hostess. She answered all my questions and was very accommodating for all our needs. She went over and beyond for us even before we were due to go there. We would highly recommend this home away from home for anyone. Plenty of room for families, friends or couples for a romantic getaway. All thanks and blessings for Theresa and her family. We will definitely be back.

I'm Theresa Curcio, a Registered Nurse working in the Recovery Room at Lancaster General Hospital, Penn Medicine. My husband, Jay, is a Manager for Richard Wolf, where he works in surgical device sales. Together, we have five wonderful children, ranging in age from 21 to 31, and two awesome dogs who complete our family.

Our cabin holds a special place in our hearts, filled with years of family memories. It's our peaceful retreat and a source of pure joy, and we hope it brings you the same sense of tranquility and happiness during your stay.
