After enjoying a good night's sleep in the king size log bed, you will want to make this your home away from home!

Start the day with a cup of coffee on the covered porch while watching the sunrise through the trees. Stay hidden away or venture out to the small town of Helen, located only 6 miles from Bear Hug. Downtown is filled with restaurants, shops and attractions. Spend the day visiting local wineries or take a hike on one of the many trails in the area. Unicoi State Park is located only a mile away from the cabin, making a leisure hike to Anna Ruby Falls very convenient. Numerous wilderness areas and state parks with trails and waterfalls are located within easy driving distance.

Bear Hug's knotty-pine walls are accented with a collection of artfully crafted birdhouses in the living room and kitchen. You will find the kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, dishwasher and refrigerator, as well as both a standard and a Keurig coffee maker. Enjoy cooking a meal at the cabin, knowing you only need bring the groceries. We have the cookware and dinnerware you need stocked in the cabinets and drawers. For your convenience, there is also a washer and dryer. The cozy living room is complete with a wood-burning fireplace and a flat screen television. Curl up and watch a good movie! Or, you might decide to enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings while relaxing in the hot tub located on the front deck. Don't forget there is a gas grill on the back porch and an outdoor fire pit to enjoy!

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $50 + tax for each additional.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a great little cabin for a couple! It was very clean and had all the things we needed. It is in a wooded area about 6 miles or less to Helen, Ga. The hot tub was great. We enjoyed a fire in the firepit outback. Rockers on the front porch. There are a few cabins around but spaced out enough for privacy. I have rented from Georgia Mountain Rentals before and the staff is always friendly and helpful and has good rates. We loved this quiet, little cabin in the woods. The hot tub and fire pit were enjoyed and our Christmas was perfect here! Thanks to the host for the cute Christmas tree and decorations that made us feel at home! We will def consider this property again!

This cabin was everything we wanted for an end of the year get away. It was cozy, the heater worked perfectly and kept us warm, the woods were quiet and peaceful and the directions were definitely needed because our GPS took us the wrong way. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

It was okay. The initial getting there was hectic because we were there to help with my brother's wedding, and having all the calls and emails, and having to do all the follow-up, was time-consuming and not at all relaxing to think about on top of everything else. Additionally, the internet was not working, but we didn't have enough time to worry about it. However, the place was nice and clean. When we finally got to relax, the hot tub was a welcome treat. It was also close to Helen and featured beautiful sites.

Perfect location near Helen, GA. The cabin is cozy and the hot tub was nice after walking all day. We booked this based on the pictures but noticed the living room chair different and not a recliner. The kitchen table very uncomfortable as it doesn't have space for legs without hitting knees on the table supports. The rental company very responsive but will rent a different cottage nearby next tume.

The perfect stay for me and my (now) fiancƩ. A warm, cozy cabin that was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway and surprise proposal. Super close to downtown Helen, but still far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the north georgia outdoors. Would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend!

Bear Hug Review

This cabin is a good place for two people, but in order for it to be a great place, several improvements need to be made. 1) Furnishings need to be updated. The couch was quite uncomfortable due to sagging cushions and the table for two was also quite uncomfortable as it was not possible to place your knees and feet under the table due to the tableā€™s construction. 2) The back deck and gas grill was quite dirty. The screen door had numerous droppings on it. 3) A storm knocked out wi-fi and internet and tv coverage. When coverage returned it was not possible to watch You Tube TV because a member ID was needed. That member ID needs to be included in the guide about the cabin. My wife and I couldnā€™t watch tv for the remainder of our stay because we didnā€™t know the member ID.

Loved our vacation! The host communicated so great with us. It wasnā€™t far from Helen, GA. The bed was comfortable and the hot tub was amazing to soak in after a long day of exploring Helen and tubing! We will definitely be staying again in the future!

Called the after hours number on a Sunday afternoon and they sent someone out right away within 30 minutes with an extension cord and a plan to fix permanently. Cabin is very clean and has everything you need. Hot tub and plenty of privacy and the porch with the rocking chairs made for a very relaxing time.!

Very secluded, clean, comfortable bed!, nice hot tub(ask to have it warmed up before you arrive), small propane grill that works!, fire pit (I suggest you buy some wood because the wood on the ground around is too big and or rotted), 12 cup coffee maker(filters provided) long with a Keurig. Bring sugar, shampoo, conditioner, soap/body wash. I strongly suggest that you go to Anna Ruby Falls(beautiful) and the town of Helen.
