Support a rural farm! Escape away and breathe the fresh country air at Poppa's Place. A modern, architecturally designed 2 story home built to capture expansive and breathtaking valley and mountain views on a working olive and cattle farm - Poppa's Olives! Relax and unwind on the upstairs deck, enjoy the spoils of the wine fridge and stocked pantry. Cook up a storm on the deck's bbq or the custom designed kitchen. The indoor open fireplace is perfect for cosy nights with a great bottle (or two...) of Hunter Valley wine! Or enjoy a night under the stars and around the campfire with our outdoor firepit!

Located at Poppa's Olives - a working olive and cattle farm on over 200 acres! Poppa's Place is your perfect place to getaway from it all! With a totally unique 2 story design, it captures the most amazing sunrises and sunsets across the valley and mountain ranges. The large open-plan living style is more than spacious for 8 guests. Make yourself at home!

Of the four large bedrooms, two have walk in robes and one has a full ensuite and the bath that captures the most amazing valley views as you soak away your cares! Two bedrooms have private balconies, showcasing more amazing views over the valley. Have a big family? Ask us about how we cater for larger groups (there's an additional sofa bed and two day beds - just byo linen for them). Watch the kids play on the outdoor equipment as you relax around the outdoor firepit (fire regulations permitting - check with us). For the cavemen, grab the wheelbarrow and gather the wood yourself! Prefer the creature comforts? Enjoy the indoor open fireplace with complimentary kindling and firewood (and firestarters for the novices!). Take a leisurely stroll around the farm.. through the olive grove, around the dams, feed the cattle, horses, chickens and alpacas (just mind the cow pats!). Enjoy nature at its best!

And please be mindful - if you're all having lots of showers morning and night, you may run out of hot water... Welcome to farm life!

The beautiful Hunter River, swimming holes and the oldest winery in Australia - Dalwood Estate (once Wyndham Estate) are just 2kms down the road! It's 5 min to town, 15min to Hunter Vineyards and concert venues, 40min to Newcastle Beaches (and Newcasatle Airport) and 2hrs from Sydney.
So ... Come and getaway from it all, in the heart of the beautiful wine region!

Great property at Dalwood

The house is fabulous and great for a group of friends. The rooms are large and the heating was welcome on a cold weekend. Love staying here.

Perfect Little Getaway

My sister's family and my family stayed here for a quick weekend getaway for A Day on the Green. It was a great property and the kids absolutely had a ball. There was plenty of room for our two families. Would definitely love to go back.

A tranquil peaceful place

A great place for 3 generations to get together. Quality time spent playing games, feeding farm animals, toasting marshmallows and generally enjoying time with each other.

Our highlight of the weekend was chickens. My son really enjoyed opening up the coup every morning to feed and let chickens out.

The family had a wonderful time together, kids had a great time with plenty to do and the adults were able to have a very relaxing time together. Catherine was great with the kids, taking them to feed the animals. As we were leaving the kids asked if we could come back again. We thoroughly recommend it.

This place was everything we’d hoped for.

Loved the outdoor screened back verandah. Spent most of our time there. Very well appointed and loved the few treats when we arrived. Comfy beds. We will definitely be back. Thanks for hosting us Tony and Catherine.

100% Recommend!

We had a fabulous time celebrating my partners 30th birthday weekend. The hosts were so lovely and allowed us to have people visit for a BBQ. The place is perfect for both entertaining and for a relaxing weekend away taking in the breathtaking landscape and relaxed atmosphere. The animals were very entertaining also!

Lovely property

A great property, with lots of room for a family and plenty of outdoor area to play. Such fun watching kids feed chooks and cows. Pantry with the basics was very handy.

Great Property

Fantastic house in a great location. Kids were able to explore the property and interact with lots of animals over our stay. Catherine was fantastic giving the kids jobs which they really enjoyed doing to help out on the farm with the animals. Extremely generously stocked fridge/pantry to make the stay even more comfortable.

Perfect for a family getaway

Wonderful weekend

Our group of family and friends enjoyed our time together in this wonderful house. Plenty of room and space to relax. The screened balcony is fantastic and the complimentary treats were lovely. Catherine was very flexible and helpful when needed. We will be back!

Great holiday!

We came with family and friends, 8 of us all had a lovely, relaxed and enjoyable stay with Tony and Catherine. The place was amazing, great views from balcony and rooms, we saw incredible moon rise, sunset, milk-way, misty mountain…. So spacious indoor and kids friendly outdoor play area, with fun to play with chickens, alpacas, cows… will definitely go back next time. Highly recommend

This property was gorgeous. The kids enjoyed feeding the chickens and having marshmallows roasted in the fire pit.The views were incredible and the Catherine was always available to answer any questions.The kids loved the play equipment provided, and the wine and chocolate for the adults was much appreciated.Making a coffee and sitting on the balcony watching the sun rise was a highlight of the trip. A wonderful and much needed family getaway 10/10

Views to die for

We had the most amazing stay at Poppa’s this weekend. The location, views, the animals and just the peace and quiet was what we all needed. Catherine was an amazing host with little added treats for the kids and a bottle of wine for us adults. We could have moved in it was that homely. We will definitely be back.
