Beautifully restored Podere Consani lies in an idyllic setting amongst well-tended natural gardens, (lavender,roses, lemons and herbs) that lead into the adjacent olive groves, vineyard & woodland, in the hills between Lucca and the coast. It consists of 3 houses constructed in stone on the top of a small hill.
Casa Cherubino shares a swimming pool with one other cottage. The owners take great care to ensure guests are happy during their stay whilst respecting their privacy. They produce their own wine and olive oil.
Nature-lovers,painters and walkers alike cannot fail to enjoy the wonderful surroundings and lovely views and although Podere Consani is set in this oasis of peace, it is however only 15 minutes before the majestic walls of Lucca come into sight.
The house has all modern conveniences whilst maintaining its original Tuscan style and charm.
It is possible to have cooking lessons or have a meal prepared for you.
It is also possible to organize various types of massages at the house or in the garden.
One can rent bicycles to bike around this beautiful area or can be accompanied on a tour.

Met ons gezin hebben we eind oktober een week verbleven in dit heerlijke en sfeervolle, ruime huis met drie mooi ingerichte slaapkamers, drie badkamers, een ruime woonkamer, een gezellige keuken en een fijne eetkamer. Het was een natte week, maar gelukkig hadden we ook een aantal mooie dagen. De kleinere woning was niet verhuurd, waardoor we alle voorzieningen voor onszelf hadden. Susan is een fijne en betrokken gastvrouw. We hopen nog eens terug te komen als het weer wat beter is.

We had a wonderful week in this charming, rustic home on the hill, with stunning views of the Tuscan countryside. The house is cozy and family-friendly, and the pool was a perfect way to relax. Our toddler and dog loved the farm, with its many animals, horses, and dogs. A truly lovely experience – highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property in the hills. The stone cottage is adorable and we appreciated all the sitting areas both inside and out. The pool was a highlight for us and allowed us to cool off and relax poolside. Susan is a very kind and helpful host, offering great suggestions for activities and places to eat. We often just picked up groceries from the small village 10 minutes away and cooked and BBQed for ourselves so we could enjoy our evenings at the cottage. My son loved the presence of Susan’s sweet Labradors who would pop by to check on us throughout the day. The location is very rural but allowed us to do day trips to a variety of locations including: Lucca, Pisa, the beaches of Viareggio, Cinqueterre and up to Barga, Devil’s Bridge and Grotta del Vento in the mountains. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Wir haben zwei wundervolle Wochen bei Susan und ihrer Familie verbracht. Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt, ruhig und schön. Der Pool ist sehr groß und man kann sich sehr gut entspannen. Und unbedingt Susans Restauranttipp befolgen. Einfaches Restaurant, typisch italienisch und unglaublich lecker. Wir kommen gerne wieder ;)

Top vakantieverblijf

Authentieke sfeervolle en gezellige op afgelegen maar goed bereikbare heuveltop gelegen paardenfokkerij/boerderij. Rustig en temidden van heuvels en vergezichten richting Lucca. Genoeg verrassingen om te ontdekken op 10ha. Ook in de omgeving. Wij voelden ons zeer welkom en thuis. De openhaard in de keuken en pizza oven buiten ....meravigloso! Het vernieuwde en afgesloten zwembad met buitendouche en ligbedden is heerlijk om af te koelen en meer dan groot genoeg. Susan en haar Italiaans/Engelse familie zijn soms aanwezig maar altijd met respect voor privacy en een gastvrijheid zoals je het wenst. Komen graag een keer terug als de moestuin er klaar is en de tuin nog meer in bloei! Thanks for this experience.

Uriges und charmantes Landhaus

Wunderschön! Ein liebevoll dekoriertes, sehr schönes Haus mit einem herrlichen Garten, wo man/frau wunderbar abschalten und sich erholen kann. Es eignet sich hervorragend als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge nach Lucca, Pisa, Florenz oder in die Garfagnana mit ihren vielen kleinen und historischen Dörfern. Susan ist eine wunderbare, sehr aufmerksame Gastgeberin , die jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite steht. Leider hatten wir in unserer Oktoberwoche kein Glück mit dem Wetter und es war kalt und hat sehr viel geregnet. Doch da Susan die Heizung angeschmissen und uns ausgiebig mit Holz für den Kamin versorgt hat, wurde es richtig anheimelnd und gemütlich. Das Angebot einen Koch (Fabrizio) für ein Dinner zu buchen, der in der großen Küche nur für die Gäste kocht und serviert sollte man/frau nicht versäumen!!! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Home away from home

It couldn’t have been better. Susan made us feel very welcome and gave us good advice on where to go for tours, the best way to get there and where to park. She was always available, but never intrusive. We almost felt like visiting family members. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a quiet retreat near historic sites.

A Wonderful Place Above Lucca

Wonderful hosts -- very thoughtful and interested in us having an enjoyable vacation -- couldn't have been nicer and helped us greatly to find local attractions of interest. The three charming old stone houses on the property are secluded and very quiet. Also quite spacious and well-equipped. A great place to stay in Tuscany.

Beautiful and peaceful Toscana

This was a bucket list trip to stay in a beautiful farmhouse in Tuscany and Podere Consani did not disappoint! Susan was very friendly and helpful, the property is beautiful and peaceful and Napo the dog is a very friendly host. The road up is pretty steep and winding but worth the views and privacy. Thank you Susan.

Wonderful

We had a fantastic stay in Podere Consani. We stayed in the three bedroom house. It is spacious, it also has three bathrooms which is great and a living room that stayed cool during the (hot) days. The bedrooms have airconditioning. Susan offered great advice and has extensive knowledge of the region. Lucca is very close by but the house and (beautiful!) garden is very quiet. Highly recommended and thank you Susan!

Einwandfrei!

Das Haus und der Garten sind traumhaft schön und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Susan ist eine wunderbare Gastgeberin und hat uns sehr gute Tipps für Ausflüge abseits der typischen und bekannten Touren gegeben (Barga, Pietrasanta). Wir haben die Woche in der Toscana sehr genossen. Vielen Dank!

Lovely property near Lucca

We had the BEST time on this lovely property near Lucca. We enjoyed the pool, grounds, pets, farm animals and hiking nearby. It is an easy drive into Lucca and our host had great advice on where to park and local businesses. The home was very private, spacious and the en-suite bathrooms were great for our family. Charming interior and beautiful grounds. Highly recommend

Family trip in summer

Podere Consani is one of the most personable VRBO experiences I've had. Susan is a lovely, helpful hostess. We really enjoyed getting to know her family and were grateful for her advice and assistance. She helped us arrange for a chef catered meal, cooking lessons, and gave advice for local trips. She was extremely responsive to any issues with the functioning of the property. I would strongly recommend renting a car to fully enjoying the property's surrounding area - the drive up to the property is a bit hilly, FYI.

Rustic farm in Tuscany

Had a relaxing and memorable stay near Lucca. The hostess and Host, and their family were lovely people and went out of there way to made us feel at home. This is a wonderful little spot to discover this part of Tuscany. I would be happy to go back and enjoy this little piece of paradise.
