Everything was fine until I found an extremely dirty pair of socks and a disgusting hair brush on the window sill in the downstairs bedroom closest to the back door. There were no strings to raise the window shade so that was probably why they were missed.

Relaxing at The Mermaid

Overall, we had a very nice, relaxing stay. We saw deer every day! One minor issue was the 16 stairs to go up and down in the house. It might be wise to add that to the description so if you are including the elderly in your stay, a formidable decision can be made.

Misleading Listing and Disappointing Communicatoon

Several of the reasons we booked this house (fenced yard, play structure, hot tub, kitchen) were either not there or unusable. The yard was not fenced, and there was no play structure as shown in pictures and the listing. As stated in other reviews, we were unable to use the stove without the smoke alarm going off. The hot tub was inoperable due to a broken pump. In addition, the house was poorly stocked and furnishings were well worn. Half of the window shades were missing or broken. Screens were ripped or torn. Pillows were flat,etc. compared to other rentals we have stayed in, this one had minimal basic necessities (no hand soap, no foil, no spices). We brought up the larger issues with the property management company the first day of our stay (and every day thereafter) and were blown off and still do not have any resolution. Overall,a completely disappointing stay.

Dont let your dogs out at night

The house was perfect! My code for the door never worked which was frustrating. I took my dog out at night and she was attacked by a raccoon. I dont want anyone elses dog to get hurt so im making this aware to future guests.

Great for family

Lots of activities for all ages. The hot tub, the ping pong, the foosball and all the games and puzzles and movies and books, and that's just at the house. The beach is just a short walk and the casino and lots of stores are right down the road.

Dirty furniture

There is a chair in the living room that is supposed to be light blue but is brown all over the place because of how dirty it is and the leather couches also needed a very good wipe down

Great property

The house is close to Road's End State Park and has several hiking trails within walkable distance. The set-up is great and several of us used the hot tub. One note - road noise is not great for the two bedrooms closest to the road (especially on Friday and Saturday nights).

Family trip to remember

We had a great time. Very roomy and clean. Plenary of room to spread out (we had 3 couples and two kids 7,9). Easy access to beach. Regular visits from neighboring deer! Only comments- wish there was more hooks for wet towels. Also the fire alarm was very sensitive- we had to open all windows and patio door and run a fan. Despite that we were comfortable and we had a great time.

Relaxing Family Time

The property was well appointed and conveniently equipped. The grounds were well maintained and groomed. The smoke alarm was very sensitive to the use of the oven and dry food storage was limited but overall we had a great experience! The Mermaid is very close to the beach and great shopping! We definitely recommend the Mermaid!

The Mermaid House

The property was well maintained and clean. A 5 minute walk to the beach. The only downsides: the road is busy so have to be alert when walking to the beach. The hot tub was set higher than we like and didn't allow for a range to adjust it down if your staying for several days. Not the problem with the place but Monday garbage pick up is early (5:15am early). It is a lovely home with all the conveniences.

Get Away

SUPER sensitive smoke detectors. Took nothing at all cooking on the stove to set off the WHOLE house. Woke everyone up. Exhaust fan was on. NO smoke at all. Had to open all windows and doors to get them to quit. Happened EVERY time we used the stove.

House needs attention

This house needs a major cleaning and renovation. The downstairs smells of dog urine. All of the blinds need fixed or replace, very dirty. The hardwood floors upstairs are completely worn. Walls are very damaged and many areas are dirty. The shower curtain downstairs had brown marks on it. I could go on and on, but basically this house needs attention. The property management company was very responsive and relocated us.

Beautiful home!

The house was perfect, beautiful and equipped with all one or a group needs. I absolutely love the decor. It was in walking distance from the beach and we had the privilege to be “visited” by a heard of deers, which made all even better. We had a great stay, thank you.

My personal Opinion

The stay wasn't bad. It was okay. However the house was not clean. There were piles of dirt behind doorways. The stairs were very dirty and the playroom smelt so bad of animal urine. Also upon arrival all of our blankets were still wet like they had just been washed but not fully dried. We stayed for a week and the only thing the house was equipped with was dishes. No brooms or cleaning stuff, and we were only given 2 or 3 wash cloths. I was even told they would bring more and never did. This would be a great stay if the house was being cleaned properly and things were being updated. Nearly everything in the house is worn and falling apart. We tried to enjoy the hot tub however even that was dirty. There was nothing left out for us to use to clean. I have never stayed in a house where you did not have access to cleaning supplies. Definitely needs updating. Pro's are that it's spacious and close to the beach and town.

Amazing House

We enjoyed the house very much, it was but a short walk to the Roads End State Park. The hot tub is a large one and a great hit. Sitting on the deck, listening to the waves wer a fav of ours.

Wonderful house within walking distance to beach

We had a very nice stay at this property while on vacation in Lincoln City Oregon. The house was warm and homey and had all the amenities we were looking for. It was well stocked with dishes and pretty much anything we were requiring. There was a view of the ocean from the front upper deck. The washing machine was not working during our stay however the property manager was very responsive and did send out someone to fix it, however we were not able to use it. The pull out bed downstairs was not comfortable according to my son. The windows were quite dirty and the house had quite a few cobwebs, however we looked past it. We enjoyed the deer and fawns in the next door neighbors yard, the hot tub, the ping pong table in the garage as well as the short walk to the beach. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Beautiful home

Loved the home and location. Very roomy and a short walk to the beach. I wish we could have used the hot tub but it was murky and foamy. Called management and they came right out to treat it but we could not use it before we checked out. Ran out of hot water after 2 adults showered. We would definitely still rent this again.

Fantastic beach house

Great Place for Family

The house was very welcoming. We enjoyed the space and accessibility. We could tell it was well loved though. I left a couple comments to the owners but not complaints. If you go and have a full group, make sure to ask for more blankets and towels. Overall though it was a great place to stay. Conveniently located by all our wants and needs.
