Hartford House is a true gem of an historic property in an historic neighborhood.

The home is comfortable and cozy, with the original layout retained. The convenient home also has special elements such as local decor and one-of-a-kind works of art.

Hartford House is a great mix of old and new - which fits Atlanta perfectly. Atlanta is a wonderful blend of traditional charm and modern cool.

When you stay with us, you will be close to downtown, all the best city sights, and transportation hubs.

Atlanta is a true FOUR season city. We are ready for summer right now! Not quite too hot yet - with the cold behind us - and lovely and sunny!

It's time for lively events and sunny porches!

Summer comes with fun festivals and great activities - games, concerts, and long sunny days. And we have amazing places to enjoy the festivities - the botanical garden is wonderful to stroll, as is the Georgia Aquarium. And Atlanta’s famous tree canopy shows off!!! Our amazing trees have new growth sprouting and flowers are blooming.

This city is a great place for a staycation or vacation. It is truly one of the most underrated cities in the US. Hartford House is close to most of the best events, sightseeing, and shopping in the Southeast.

There is something for everyone ... You can enjoy outside activities and the zoo; and there are also tons of indoor activities, such as museums, shopping, and performances, for any gloomy or rainy day. Hartford House is perfectly located for your home base while in the Atlanta area.

We call Hartford House our "nice and comfy" home base. We call it NICE because it has a few more details guests won't find in other rentals in the area, like a working gas fireplace, a roomy "sit and stay" front porch, a sunny and private side deck, and 3 sizes of beds and basically 3 levels of firmness. And TONS of pillows for even the most picky sleeper.

It's COMFY because guests are so comfortable they feel like they live here--everything you need to prepare meals or get comfortable after a day on the town. And with just a few blocks to the train station and a few stops on the train (or a few miles if driving) from the airport, guests find the house to be the perfect spot for their business or leisure travel.

Less than 3 miles from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, only a few blocks to the MARTA Train Station, and so close to Atlanta's tourist sites - such as the world-famous aquarium and our amazing little zoo.

10 minutes to Fox Theatre and other Midtown points of interest, like the world-famous Piedmont Park. Less than 10 minutes to the zoo, the aquarium, and Downtown. A short ride to the MKL sites. 3 minutes to 3 of the best breweries (and distillery) in the city. Close to some great natural areas (Arabia Mountain, Cascade Springs, Sweetwater Creek, and relatively close to Lake Lanier & Stone Mountain). Close enough to Chateau Elan for a day trip.

Nestled under Atlanta's famous tree canopy, on a quiet street, you will have all the convenience of the city, while in a restful, and REAL, neighborhood.

Believe it or not, we have foxes, owls, and lots and lots of birds. It's the best of both worlds...close to the glam of the city, but on a street that feels like the country!

Extremely happy with the process to book this rental. The house and rooms looked exactly like they were in the pictures. We felt safe and had a great time. Only 15 minutes from downtown so it was a great location.

This is a fantastic home and was perfect for our family of 4 while vacationing in Atlanta. It checks all the boxes: very clean, comfortable, great space to lounge (indoor and out), and overall a well maintained property. It is very conveniently located as well, 15 mins from Aquarium, Coke Museum, and in the other direction, Six Flags amusement park. The owners were so nice and worked proactively to ensure we had a great stay. Also, they were very responsive with our questions on arrival/departure days. We will be heading right back here on our next stay in Atlanta.

We only stayed 2 nights and visited the Georgia Aquarium. The house was exactly as represented. Lots of character and very well stocked with essentials. The front porch was a wonderful plus for us. There were 5 of us, 4 siblings in our 60’s and our 94 year old father. We spent both evenings there sitting on the porch, talking and laughing. Our host was very easy to communicate with. She provided lots of info that made our stay easy and stress free and responded quickly with any of our questions or concerns.

Laura’s house is super cute and comfy!! We all had our own beds for sleeping and the family room was spacious for us all to hang out together. We hosted this family in November 2024. I love the use of the word NICE -- because we do call Hartford House NICE and COMFY. We have a true southern home with a great porch - we are glad to hear the guests enjoyed our "sit and stay" porch. Come see why guests say the home is comfortable! As real estate agents, we see many homes and work with several investor-hosts, so we truly appreciate when a property is done exceptionally well — and this one absolutely stands out. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, creating a space that felt comfortable, welcoming, and beautifully maintained.The home was immaculate, well-appointed, and full of character, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time. I tell all potential guests, I LOVE travelers. We love hosting others in our comfortable home in Atlanta. AND...we love when a guest has a nice stay and takes the time to provide a helpful review for others to read. It is particularly rewarding when we have guests with experience with traveling, hosts, and home stays. Our recent guests stated our home STANDS OUT. We at Hartford House are not professionally trained hospitality experts...but we do know a few things about hosting. Always be honest so guests know what to expect, and always communicate so guests feel comfortable and know there is someone is there to help. So glad our recent guest felt we did this right. Our family stayed here for 4 nights to visit Atlanta attractions. Location was perfect for getting everywhere we needed to go. House was clean and well outfitted and was exactly as described. Having two bedrooms downstairs and one upstairs was perfect for our family. Laura, the host, went above and beyond for keeping up updated about Atlanta, notes about the house, etc. She couldn't have been more helpful. I would definitely recommend this house when visiting Atlanta

I don't mind saying that Hartford House is the perfect location for all of Atlanta's great sights and events. It's a great spot for feeling you can get everywhere - but also that you are a bit away from the hustle and bustle. We actually have owls and birds, and plenty of peace and quiet! We love the porch also! And think most guests do. I appreciate guests who love the home for its historical features. And - I agree, we are in a great location. We would gladly host this guest again in the future … and any guests who love to sit and enjoy the front porch!

Getaway

The house was very charming. Very clean, quiet neighborhood and the host was very easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again!

We appreciate Michelle's feedback on Hartford House. We don't have a written mission and values statement for our family rental -- but if we did, charming and clean would absolutely be on the list of values. We strive to ensure our home is always clean and comfortable for our guests. We would definitely welcome Michelle back to visit us again if she finds herself in Atlanta in the future. She was a wonderful guest. Hartford House is perfect for nice guests who would love to see Atlanta.

Cozy House

Very cozy, and very central to the places we needed to get to. I would definitely stay here again.

We LOVE repeat guests! Especially those who take extra care with the home and our neighbors. We would gladly host Robert again and are pleased our home was convenient to the places he needed to get to. We ARE in a really easy spot - close to downtown - but it does not feel like downtown. We have owls, and falcons, and raccoons. We have the highest concentration of trees in all of Atlanta - which makes for some great habitat for wildlife. Come see our little home in the CITY.

The home was clean and had all the amenities that were advertised! The location was great and in a nice neighborhood. The owner had great recommendations for the city and left very detailed instructions for our stay. The owner also communicated very well and was quick with responses to questions. Will definitely plan to stay here again!

I love how Travis is hitting on all the things we try to offer our guests: Convenient, Clean, Comfortable! We very much enjoy hosting - and are just so pleased when guests have a nice stay. We had a wonderful stay! This house is beautiful with so much charm! Very convenient to the Georgia Aquarium which was the reason for our visit. The house was spotless and had everything we needed. Laura is a wonderful host who provided us with so much information. Great communication and went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met .

Glad to hear we have hosted another wonderful stay in amazing Southwest Atlanta. We ARE in a great spot. We are close to all the cool spots that travelers want to experience - but we are in a real neighborhood that feels far away from bustling downtown (we have owls and tons of birds, and our special tree canopy). Come see why Atlanta should be on your next trip list! We would happily host this guest again. She was a wonderful guest and took great care of Hartford House.

Travel is one of the most important priorities for our family of four. We have been traveling the country since our kids were babies - we have seen all 48 contiguous states, plus Alaska. We plan to see Hawaii soon.

We love traveling... and we are so pleased to be able to offer our nice and comfortable home to other fellow travelers at a reasonable cost.

Because we have seen most of the United States, up close and personal, and we know Atlanta is one of the most welcoming, interesting, and exciting cities in the country.

Atlanta offers something for every traveler and our small neighborhood of Capitol View in Southwest Atlanta gives guests a chance to be in the city -- but also in a less frantic part of town. We absolutely love being able to host travelers in our home.

We also LOVE nice people. We call our home nice and comfy and we are nice people ourselves. We so enjoy opening our home to other NICE people. If you love historic homes in historic neighborhoods, love nice parks, and nice tree-lined streets, you love nice comforts of a cozy home, you will love our Hartford House.

We also believe nice people understand that Atlanta is a city just like any other city. It is not sterile...it has real people here, and not everyone will look and act like you.

We believe this is an advantage of our neighborhood, not a negative. We also will do everything within our control to ensure you have a comfortable and pleasant stay with us...and in turn we expect our guests to be reasonable and that they also are respectful of our home, our neighbors, and our neighborhood.

And the end of the day, we have found most people really like our home and 'hood. Atlanta is everything a mid-sized Southern city should be.

We love our home because it is the perfect combination of city and "country" with exceptional proximity to everything Atlanta has to offer.

The home is on a tree lined street in an historic neighborhood that has retained its authentic character and interesting and cool vibe.

We are proud that Capitol View is one of the remaining neighborhoods that has stayed true to its roots and we are ecstatic that we can offer a nice home for guests that is at a price point that makes traveling accessible for anyone.

You will find a more manicured neighborhood somewhere in Atlanta, but not at our price point, and not with our amazing neighbors and authentic feel.

Our home is in the city...and wonderfully close to downtown and most attractions --- but because it IS in the city, it is possible that you might encounter certain city elements. We can never guarantee you won't see any homeless individuals, or trash on the city roads, or any unpleasantries.

We can promise, however, that as hosts we will always give you accurate information, answer any questions you have, provide all reasonable assistance, and be as helpful and honest as we can be about our home, our neighborhood, and the city.

You will tell you enthusiastically that we love our home and love Atlanta. We hope you love it also!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our rental home is very close to the city's mass transit system (MARTA) and only a few train stops from the airport (or a few miles if you are renting a car instead of taking the train).

The neighborhood has one of the best city parks, with tennis, DISC golf, and a playground with splashpad in the summer. Our neighborhood is only a mile off the interstate, but provides access to the city on surface streets when traffic is heavy.

You can walk or bike to the famous Atlanta Beltline directly from the doorstep. You can feel the history of the house and the neighborhood, with its generous front porch and Atlanta-themed decor. We have a very active neighborhood association, and neighbors who actually wave at you and have time for conversation.

It's a small town area in the city - so it has the best of the country and the city.
