The property was very comfortable. Comfortable bed, couch and clean kitchen. The antique lamps were so beautiful and the host was very responsive. We would absolutely stay here again.

This was kind of an unusual place from the start. I got an email with a long list of rules and instructions when I first booked… so by the time I actually needed it, I had to dig. My 1st impression was that this host has had enough. Lots of rules followed with threatened consequences if not followed. Then a for sale sign at the entry sort of supported that notion. The apartment had a bizarre layout but that’s okay. Clean, quiet, safe- that’s what really matters. Decor was kind of random and paint colors were definitely not what I would have selected - but things were functional. Very old building, so not many outlets and not conveniently located. LOTS of stairs to get to this - felt like walking up 3 stories. They access check-in by camera - which isn’t that unusual but it felt weird knowing since they included that info in the stuff they sent. I did not find it attractive, but it certainly met our needs. Host left homemade sweetbread in freezer for us that was a nice touch. :)

Hi Kate, odd review, we send each reservation, check in details, directions, parking information, local information and our house rules. Unfortunately after 15 years of being in the vacation rental business, people make you make rules. Part of our confirmation letter is bringing light to the fact that all apartments are on the second floor of a historic building. Our color palette in the building is the same in each of our apartments “ cottage white “ , I wouldn’t consider “cottage white” as bizarre . For further reference The Capitol Hotel Vacation Suites is a converted Historic Hotel on Main Street in the heart of downtown historic Buffalo Wyoming. It sounds like a historic experience wasn’t up to your expectations. We are definitely not a chain hotel. You also didn’t like that we have advertised the property for sale? Good grief, I guess some people are hard to please. I hope things get better for you.

Nice comfortable historic place. Cindy is an awesome host. She even made us cannoli (which we regrettably left behind)! Comfy quarters and great location.

Great location in Buffalo

We stayed for a hunting trip, and this was great since it was close to the downtown restaurant/bar we went to. We had a trailer and UTV which we couldn't park right at the apartment, but there was parking very close which was good. Communication with the owners was phenomenal. We'll stay again on our next hunt!

Buffalo Trip

Buffalo WY

Cynthia's place was clean and comfortable with old school charm. In the heart of Buffalo with easy walking access to restaurants and the ice cream shop :-). Cynthia was very helpful.

Very spacious suite and really neat building if you are a history buff and nice to be able to do laundry. Largest pool in Wyoming was impressive - too cold to go in when we were there. Music in the park across street when we arrived and the Historic Main Street had a lot of neat shops. Sunday most shops not open so plan accordingly.

Great location and wonderful space!

We stayed one night in Buffalo before moving on to our next stop and this was the perfect place to land. It has be best location right in the heart of downtown and it truly feels like you are taking a step back in time while still having modern amenities. We stayed here with our two year old and she loved exploring our suite and it had enough room for all of us. Everything was clean and welcoming with everything we needed. Parking was easy both in front and in the alley. We never had trouble finding somewhere to park. The homemade rhubarb bread was also a nice touch and a great start to our morning. Thank you for having us!

Charmer

We couldn’t have picked a better place to enjoy our stay in Buffalo, Wy. I loved the apartment over downtown shops environment. The antelope suite was perfect with the 3 massive windows overlooking the Main St. The apartment itself was large and had all the amenities you need for several nights stay to be comfy. Cynthia keeps it very clean and well stocked. We lacked nothing. Her communication was perfect to see if there was anything else we needed. Definitely stay here again in the future

Noisy Neighbors and Thin Walls

Nice location but the building is very old and the walls are paper thin. We were woken up at 6:30 by screaming kids who live next door. The property manager was responsive but just be aware if you want a good nights sleep.

I am not surprised by this review. Unfortunately Blair was very unhappy with the young international family with 4 little girls in the next apartment squealing with excitement to go to Yellowstone. I can absolutely understand that. Our property is 100 % seasonal vacation rental property, we do not have long term tenants in the renovated hotel building . All walls have been sound proofed with the exception of one door closure between these two apartments. This is to be completed in the next couple of months. I did have communication with Blair and did apologized. It was unfortunate , as you can see we have wonderful favorable review's, over 600 reviews total online none of which mention thin walls. This was just an unfortunate case.

Neat hotel, but not comfortable

Cute what has been done with this old building. Really neat to see the history of it and the town. Unfortunately, the queen bed was very uncomfortable. Neither my husband or I could sleep on it. He ended up on the couch and I ended up on a bunk bed. Not a good nights sleep after a very busy and tiring day.

Don't stay here. If you don't enjoy funky charming properties in fun walkable areas. Or if you don't appreciate in touch and tuned in property owners.Place was clean and the kitchen really well equipped. Cindy even had everything included to make and drink coffee, also Expresso. Ideal for a family of four with the extra twin beds in the main living space. Yes, the floors creak and the electric is in conduit but the building dates from 1894 and many of the original bones are still there. That's part of the charm. Lots of area rugs and runners. Take time to enjoy all the art in the unit and hall.Lots of eating and shopping in just a couple blocks including a great little ice cream place. Awesome museum two blocks away, and take a quick run to Sheridan to visit the Trails End Mansion. We also ran back to Gillette for the coal mine tour. Couldn't do that on the weekend when we were there originally. While there also check out the Rockpile Museum, you won't be sorry.If you like to walk it's right next to the Clear Creek trail system that offers miles of gravel trail along the creek.If you like all those things the definitely DO stay here! We will come back when in Buffalo.

Great fun

This was a really fun place to stay. It's definitely different than your normal hotel! Our rooms were a great combination of modern amenities (kitchen with all the supplies you need and a modern bathroom), with a very old-west feel (large windows with drapes, wooden floors and staircases....) The owners were friendly, communicative and responsive. I don't travel to Buffalo, WY much, but I would definitely stay here again.

Great location

Loved the location - right downtown and very close to cute little places to eat and drink. The owner was very accommodating when we requested to stay another night. Easy to find, easy to access.

Nice Family Option in a Cute Town

The Antelope Suite was very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. Buffalo has a very nice downtown area that we look forward to visiting again when covid is over so we can see more.

Family vacation

Everything was wonderful! Exactly as listed. We had a nice time in Buffalo. Many shops were closed Sunday afternoon but open Monday morning. Pie Zanos was great for dinner.
