Whether you're looking for great fishing, swimming, kayaking and boating right out your back door, or just hoping to relax in the sun, it's the perfect getaway destination. Outdoor grill, kayak, rowboat and paddle boards available for your use. For the sightseer, there is plenty to see and do with historic Sacket's Harbor and the famous 1000 Islands close by. And for the serious fisherman, the world renowned Salmon River in Pulaski is only 40 minutes away! Summer rentals available June through October in this well-maintained upscale 3 bedroom 3.5 bathroom home. Gas heat, including radiant heat wood floors, gas fireplace, quartz kitchen, first and second floor decks, 2 car garage, and more. Seasonal rates: $2200/week (1 week minimum).

This is such a lovely house. The spaces flow nicely from one to another. One of the most comfortable places i have stayed. Being so close to the lake is a plus.

Wonderful lake house

Spent a lovely week here with my family. The property is secluded and peaceful, with great views of the lake from every room. The bedroom suites are large, and the house has a nice layout. The kitchen is fully stocked, and we enjoyed the kayak and the paddle boards. Nice wineries and eateries are nearby, as well as boat tours of the 1000 Islands. Rick is a friendly host, and made sure everything was in order when we arrived. An easy 5 star-rating! Hope to return soon.

We were here 5 years ago and both times were magical. What I mean is completely decompressing. There is good wifi, but the home is so inviting and the sound of the waves are the most relaxing. There is nearly everything you need in the home. There are 2 paddle boards and kayaks, which we used all. There is a dining room, great for also playing board games at night. Driving to Claytons and going to Bellas is our favorite and its a short drive to Alexandria Bay. There is a beautiful state park prior to the town of Alexandria Bay. The drive to Tibbets point and the lighthouse is beautiful, as is Sacketts Harbor. Rick is an awesome host and available with any issues. Highly recommended!

Amazing Stay

We've had the opportunity to vacation at the property 4 straight years. And every year, we make it a point to book for the following year because we love the property and Rick is amazing to work with! Although there are many things we love about the property, a few specifics standout 1) The privacy, which is created by the natural tree line that surround the property. 2) The amenities. Rick offers everything you need to enjoy your stay and have fun while your at the house. 3) The location. You're an easy drive to Watertown, Clayton, the cape, and the bay. Lastly, Rick has done an amazing job adding upgrades over the last couple of years, which is a rarity in the rental property business. And that is another reason we love coming back to this house!

Perfect lakeside escape

This is our second stay at this property and we again enjoyed it completely. The location is perfect - waterfront, private, peaceful. And the cottage has all the amenities you would need including 3 separate bedroom suites, each with a queen bed and its own bathroom. The kayaks were fun - and just floating on an inner tube or watching the water and the shore birds was so relaxing. We will be back next year!

This was our third time staying here and it was just as relaxing as the first we stayed here in 2019. The property is well maintained, clean, and welcoming. Rick is very kind and also responsive. Highly recommend!

Relaxation and Comfort

We stay in a lot of VRBO rentals but rarely is a place so comfortable, from beds/bedding to indoor and outdoor furniture. Everything you could possibly need is there. It’s like staying in a friends home. The surroundings are quiet and serene with gentle sounds of waves and birds. If you’re looking for a place to relax this is it! We hated to leave.

Great home, lots of privacy inside and out!

Very quiet, no neighbors in sight. Lovely home with bedrooms spaced out. Fully appointed kitchen, found everything we needed. Easy access to water and water toys. Would come back in a heartbeat!

Already booked for next year!

It is a beautiful cottage, very spacious and so tastefully decorated. Such a great combination of old and quaint, with new and modern. Each wing has an upstairs bedroom and bathroom that are unusually large, perfect for our children and grandchildren to stay over comfortably. And storage? There are closets galore! The cottage is stocked with everything you may need, it was impressive. Even though there are neighbors, we never saw or heard them once. It is very quiet and peaceful, the perfect setting to relax. The shoreline was a concern at first with the rocks, but our small grandchildren quickly adapted and they had a great time swimming. The owner is a pleasure to deal with and is just a quick text message away! I would recommend this property to anyone.

Wonderful!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perfect location - waterfront, private, quiet. And the accommodations were exceptional - 3 large private "suites", each with queen bed and bath. Spacious yet cozy, with all the amenities you would need. Loved the antique touches and collections. We have already reserved a week in 2022 !

Perfect Private Getaway

Property was a perfect private getaway! Lots of yard and large shore line surrounded by beautiful landscaping and trees making it feel like there isn’t anyone around. The house was equipped with everything you could need and Rick was very accommodating!

Perfect family vacation house

Rick’s lake house could not have been any more perfect for our family vacation with our adult children and their spouses and our infant grandson. There was plenty of space for everyone. The three suites were beautifully furnished with comfy beds and everyone had their own full bath. The house is set back from the road which is perfect for relaxing by the water and for nightly s’mores over the fire pit. The large yard was perfect for lawn games. The kitchen had every appliance, cookware, dish and utensil that we could possibly need. The garage was a great place for us to store our bikes securely and we enjoyed riding on the seldom traveled road. The quiet nearly traffic free road was also great for morning walks and runs. We did not use the kayak or rowboat but they were available as well as paddle boards and a float. We have stayed in many vacation homes, and Rick’s home is by far the nicest. In addition, communication with Rick was easy and he was quick to reply to any questions we had. If we ever decide to return to Chaumont we would want to stay at Rick’s lake house as no other place could compare. Thanks Rick for a memorable family vacation!

Beautiful Home

This home is as pictured online ~ beautiful and spacious with many areas for one’s privacy. Rick was very easy to work with and always readily accessible. Home was amply supplied with many amenities. We were not comfortable with the water access especially for the kids ~ mossy rocks and much seaweed. The lack of air conditioning was another concern especially at night ~ with the windows open many tiny bugs were flying around the lights.

Tranquility

From the moment we drove up I knew we made the right selection. The house architecture, trees, blooming flowers and wildflowers set against a Lake Ontario background was both picturesque and inviting. The warm wood tones in the family room, window views of Lake Ontario from every room, more amenities than you could imagine, and friendliness snd helpfulness of the host made this one of our best vacations and VRBO stays we have had. In addition we caught numerous 4 and 5 pound smallmouth each day from the nearby St Lawrence River. Boat ramp was only 18 minutes away at Cape Vincent. Highly recommend this property. True to advertised by host. Photos are accurate. Location is perfect!

Peaceful and relaxing

Where do I begin? First of all, Rick is an excellent host. He was responsive when I sent messages/questions. This property was incredible. Your back yard is the bay. We had the opportunity to use Ricks paddle boards, which was my favorite part of the trip. His property is just full of nature. We saw loons at night, saw swans, geese, ducks. We had a groundhog and it’s baby in the backyard. The rooms were beautifully appointed. It feels very home like. Appliances are excellent. My favorite was the bedroom we stayed in. Large picture window and tons of light. You fall asleep to the lapping noises of the waves. And we can’t forget the fire pit! Incredible... we will be back for sure!

Second beautiful stay

This was our second time at this beautiful well appointed, comfortable house. We had a wonderful relaxing time during the last week of October. We enjoyed the very crisp morning air, even when it was raining the house didn’t loose its charm. We sat in the very cozy living room sipping hot chocolate by the fire place. Even if it’s too chilly to sit outside or swim, the view from every single room of the house makes up for it. Well, our dog still enjoyed the lake and the grounds... I like the privacy you get in this house. It’s so quiet that the only sound you get, it’s the sound of nature. The view of the lake, the sound of the water and wind were very therapeutical. I only have praise for this house and the host is always very friendly, accommodating and quick to respond in case of any questions. Looking forward to come back again, as we felt very happy and comfortable. Thank you for hosting us once again. Blanca & Mirko

Relaxing Week Away

This is a fantastic home with the backyard right on the lake! Not only was it clean and had everything we could have asked for, Rick was very responsive to all inquires we had. We were able to Paddle Board, Fish, Kayak, barbecue and have an outdoor fire next to the lake. It was also a short drive to many towns and attractions (river tours, wine tasting, shopping, restaurants...). I look forward to going back to spend more time in the area. I would recommend this rental to everyone. Thank you Rick for making our vist so enjoyable.

Little escape from it all!

We had a great time at this property! The lake was beautiful, the property was private and there was plenty of space for our family. We walked down the lane every morning and enjoyed the scenery and crisp air!

Wonderful Lake House

We spent almost two weeks at Rick’s lake house and we had a fantastic and memorable time. The location is ideal if you want some quietness and relaxation. To our dog’s delight, the front and the back yard is huge. It also offers full privacy as it is surrounded by vegetation and trees. Although the house itself is big, it feels very welcoming and homy. It has a nice fire place if it gets too chilly in the evenings. Nice to warm up while watching movies and sipping tea. I’ve never seen a vacation home being so well equipped, it has absolutely everything, especially the kitchen, which invites you to cook nice meals. I also liked that there were plenty of cleaning products, so that one can keep the house tidy and sanitized. We had a wonderful time sitting on the front porch as well as by the lake watching the most beautiful sunsets, which we managed to witness on an almost daily basis. The owner was very accommodating, friendly and very responsive in case you have any questions or issues. He’s very hands on. We were so happy to be there that we booked another week in October, I think, that says it all. My words will never be enough to describe how beautiful and well appointed this house is. Even better than in the pictures. Rick’s house is like being home away from home! Thank you for allowing us to make beautiful memories and recharge our batteries. Blanca , Mirko & Hanna 🐾 from NYC.
