Dramatic open living style environment synchronizes starry nights, amazing sunsets, panoramic ocean and jungle views, sounds of the lapping waves into a memorable experience. Swimming Pool and Lounge Area common to all guests. This suite has a large outdoor/indoor well equipped kitchen, outdoor built-in gas bbq, and large dining table as well as many places to sit and lounge about while taking it all in. This is a one bedroom apartment with two twin beds/1 king bed, Egyptian cotton bed linens, separate bathroom with generous mosaic shower and luxurious thirsty Turkish towels.

Nice perfect little spot

The place was perfect for us , the views are breathtaking Full sun up on the terrace, we could of used an extra Sundrella as it showed on the photos.Other than that all good.we will go again next year

Wonderful Terrace Room with Spectacular View

This room was even better than we were expecting! The photos are very representative of the property. It was so private and quiet. It was just perfect for us. We did yoga every morning on the big terrace and pretty much had the pool to ourselves. The walk to the square takes less than ten minutes but do note that there are over 100 stairs to climb to get back up to the house. We enjoyed every minute of our two weeks there and hope to return again soon!

Great views

This place sits up the hill and has amazing views. It was spotless. Because it is completely open and a dusty time of the year it was amazing that it was so clean. It is all open so the only shade in the afternoon was the bedroom. There is also air in the bedroom so that help nights because it was a little warm. The pool was great. We were alone there so had the pool to ourselves. The hike up the hill when walking home from town wasn’t bad but climbing up 4-5 floors to our room was a killer. Over all it is a nice place!

Awesome!

We stayed on the top floor unit and it's amazing. Everything you need is provided and the view is to die for. You can see the whole bay, the town and the mountains. The town is delightful with a Friday market and on the last Sunday of January every year there is an artwalk that brings people in from afar. The house is located high on a hill top and has many stairs to get from the top to the pool at the bottom level so not good for someone who is not ambulatory. I have mobility issues, took it easy and enjoyed the full experience. The nights are dramatic with stars shining that you usually don't see because of ambient light. This unit has a sitting area with banquet, a terrace with comfortable seating, a huge dining table, outside kitchen with stove, oven, ref with freezer, huge bath with walk-in shower and bedroom with king bed. We loved every moment!

Perfect Vacation Spot

We absolutely loved this location. The outdoor space is a dream. We love having a kitchen when on vacation and used if for a couple meals per day. A couple of things to note. We love to walk and hike so it was fine for us but it is quite a hike to the house from town. There are taxis that will take you if needed but we walked back and forth twice a day without issue. At 4:30pm there is nowhere to hide from the sun because the whole apartment is open and the sun comes in at an angle that the umbrellas can't block. The only place to go was into the bedroom, which we enjoyed for an afternoon siesta before heading out for dinner.

Fabulous outdoor space and ocean view.

We had the top floor and thoroughly enjoyed the space, the ocean and village views. The villa is well equipped and spotless. The hike up the hill is well worth the payoff and we soon discovered enjoying our exercise on long beach walks and then a taxi up the hill. Perfect. Easy check in. Lovely stay.

We stayed here for 2 weeks and loved it!

We absolutely loved this property. The view and open design was great. We enjoyed the pool as well. The only thing that would make this place perfect is a better mattress.

Hilltop property with huge terrace and amazing views

My husband and I stayed in the rooftop apartment for 2 weeks whilst visiting with friends down in the town. It is perfect for 2 people with a lovely bedroom, large bathroom and an indoor/outdoor well stocked kitchen and indoor/outdoor comfy living room. The terrace is the best part of the property; being huge with multiple seating areas, fabulous views of both the ocean and the jungle, a huge table which is perfect for entertaining, and has the best view of the night sky I have ever enjoyed! The pool is a nice size and very well maintained and I happily walked down the 80 stairs to access it twice every day. Although there were others staying on the property during our stay I found it was my private pool as I never had to share it! Big thanks and a big hug to Juani who managed the property so amazingly well - whenever we had a small issue she dealt with it promptly, efficiently and with a smile. Olga and her team did a superb job of cleaning the apartment before our arrival and halfway through. One suggestion: bring a flashlight as street lighting is not the best and be aware that to access the town there is a staircase with 110 steps which quickly takes you into town but is not for people with serious mobility issues. Other than that enjoy your time in quaint La Manzanilla as much as we did.

The condo itself was beautiful, well kept and unique, but didn't realize that it was mostly outside

The condo certainly did have incredible dramatic ocean views and starry nights, but we weren't expecting it to be quite so exposed to the outdoors. One side of the kitchen was open to the outside, and the eating and lounging areas were completely outside on a spacious deck with umbrellas for shade. There was a covered "living room" with very comfortable seating, but it too was open to the elements on the sides. Only the bedroom and bathroom were enclosed. Fortunately, the weather was perfect during our week-long stay and even though it was hot, the breeze off the ocean was cooling. We enjoyed relaxing in the afternoons after our walks into town. And we did some star gazing at night which was exceptional. The pool was lovely, but two stories down. Juani, our local contact, was exceptionally helpful and easy to deal with. It is certainly a unique property with wonderful views, but it did take some getting used to.

Great Spot exactly as pictured

The property was just as pictured and a great spot to get away. We did not realize how busy the town would get during Easter week, but still had a great time. We walked almost daily into town which is a jaunt down and back up with 107 stairs to navigate. Which is why you have such a great view. We did not play much at the beach, because of the distance and it was packed, but did take a long walk about 1-2 miles down the beach and away from the crowds. I don't imagine the beach is normally as packed as it was. Loved being in town with out a lot of Americans and Canadians. We enjoyed a number of restaurants, shopped at the grocery stores and butcher and retreated to our roof top terrace and spent time relaxing. The property also has a nice pool on site which we use one afternoon to relax and cool off. A highlight for us was the unique indoor outdoor environment of the upper terrace. The AC and privacy of our bedroom and the open concept of the kitchen, terrace and sitting room was really fun and unique. Having coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening sitting under the sun and stars was really special. The sunsets were amazing. The hosts Juani and Sarah were fabulous. Great communication, pleasant, very helpful, attentive and sweet. A real plus to the property. We are home and reflecting our our time in LaManzanilla and it was wonderful. The relaxation, privacy and experience in the a great little town was exactly what we needed.

Unforgettable!

We loved our stay! The view is unforgettable! One confusing detail: we got a notice from PayPal saying there is a $250.deposit we need to claim by April 14, 2028, or lose. Is this a scam? We paid with credit card. Why isn’t the deposit returned to our card? Please clarify this. Thank you.

The pictures don't lie, the view is simply spectacular!

We spent a wonderful four days at this remarkable property and enjoyed every minute of it. The top floor has a sweeping view of the town and all its colour and magnificent ocean beyond. The evenings are wonderful with a magnificent night sky. The inside, is outside and the outside is, inside at the Casa del Viende!

This apartment was certainly Magic under the stars!

Wow, the roof top deck was like having our very own 360-degree planetarian! We spent every night before going to bed gazing at the most beautiful night sky!

Words cannot describe!

We loved our stay in La Manzanilla at the top of this beautiful home. We spent most of our day in the wonderful outdoor spaces watching the sun rise and set, enjoying beautiful bay filled with boats coming and going. The morning birds and evening geckos were wonderful. What a peaceful place!!! Town is only a short walk of about 10 minutes down the hill, however we rented a car and usually drove. We utilized the fully equipped kitchen, outdoor grill and main level swimming pool daily. It was so nice to get up early, make some toast and coffee and sit in the sun. The suite was spotlessly clean and fully equipped upon our arrival. We met up with the local contact (English speaking) in town and were escorted to the property. We are already planning another trip and would love to stay here again!

Casa de Viento was a dream come true for us once again. Was very hard to leave it behind.

Hola Esmerelda We are in Seattle on our way back to Alaska after a totally wonderful vacation to Mexico and especially your beautiful house in La Manzanilla. Can't even tell ya how much I love waking up to the view from the upper terrace and watching the village go to sleep at night from the same vantage. Juani is just a marvelous person for you to have managing the property for you and Marta does a great job of cleaning and bringing in new supplies. We left Casa de Viento and went on up to Colima and Comala for five days to see the volcano and it didn't disappoint either. Got within 10 miles of it on a trek but it was quiet that day until we got back to Comala for lunch and then she blew big time. It was such an explosion that even the local people were stopping their cars and taking pictures. The epitome of Awesome. Then it dies down and the smoke and ash dissipate until a few hours later it comes back to life. Quite a sight. Was going to send you an email earlier to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at Casa de Viento and how on top of everything Juani is but all my correspondence with you was on my new computer so I didn't even have your email address. It was quite sad to be leaving that beautiful place but the closer we get to home the more I'm looking forward to seeing our two beautiful dogs. Have four feet of snow on the roofs and in the driveway at my house to deal with for the next several days. Been a real winter since we've been gone for the first time in several years. Just looking at the picture on the top of this page makes me know we will be going back to La Manzanilla again soon. We will want to stay at Casa de Viento when we do. Thank you for letting us stay in that magic house. Love the new stairs down the side of the house and the reconstructed wooden stairs down below the pool. Bob and Sally

Blissfully refreshed

This home is not only located in a very cute and relaxing town, but the home is an excellent showcase of design and comfort. All the views of the harbor and the patios are perfect. The swimming pool is gorgeous and the rooms are very comfortable. Your home away from home. The fishing town is close so you can enjoy the beach, swimming and fresh sea food. Several of the restaurants I visited everyday because of the great service and welcomed reception. The locals are very polite and the small food stores the owners are very friendly.

7th Heaven

7th Heaven! It will come as no surprise whatsoever that we're all (Hank, Joan and friend Susie, that is) in 7th heaven here. Weather magnificent. Marta and Theresa, maids are exceptional. The casa superb. If I am ever re-incarnated and if I come back as a member of the .01%, then I will hire either Brenda or her designee, at an outrageous price, to be my personal decorator/adorner. Every space continues to delight... and Marta and Theresa keep it all sparkling. We'd like to continue returning to Casa del Viento for as long as we can.... Joan and Hank, Chicago, USA March 2015
