Welcome to your home away from home! This guest house private, with its own entrance, and is attached to a main house. It sleeps 4, with 2 in the queen bed, 1 on an air mattress and 1 on a Lucid folding mattress. We provide WiFi, toiletries, linens & towels, clothes iron, hair dryer, full kitchen, beach essentials, coffee & tea. Watch waterfowl while sitting by the serene backyard creek, or go on an adventure to Folly or downtown.

Centrally located for your beach getaway, or business trip. James Island is close to everything, and very easy to get to.

In addition to the bedroom, full bath, full kitchen, and living room, our backyard is a wonderful place to hang out. We have large picnic table, a gas grill, a hot tub, a large garden, and a fire pit. So much to enjoy as you are waterfront. You are even welcome to fish in the waterway (catch & release), or use our canoe for a jaunt down the estuary. Please note: our backyard is shared with other guests.

We have a smart TV with many apps to enjoy.

We can only accommodate two guest vehicles. We give you a code to enter on the keypad a few days before you arrive. You can check in anytime after 4pm. We charge a $50 early check-in/late check-out fee, and can only guarantee we can accommodate it on the day of arrival/check out.

We live locally and are available to address any issues that may arise during your stay or to answer any questions.

No smoking, drugs, or parties.

There is a creek behind the house. If you let your children into the backyard, please be aware that the creek is attached, and be water safe.

We have some laying hens, whom you may see free ranging around the backyard.

We provide a bag of beach essentials, which includes beach towels, beach chairs (4), and sunscreen, which you are welcome to use during your stay. Does not include snorkeling gear.


We are centrally located on James Island, about 10 minutes from Downtown Charleston, 15 to Folly Beach, close to historical landmarks, restaurants, museums, and tons of fun things to do. The closest beach is about five minutes down the road. We are close to shops, museums, restaurants, and entertainment. There is a grocery store one block away (with a Starbucks inside).

One thing to note: We are on a busy street. Please do not book if being on a busy street will bother you, as there is nothing we can do to change this, and bad reviews are unfair based on our location. Most of our negative reviews have been because of the busy street, which we cannot control. All we can do is be very clear about it, and request that because our guests know this before booking, that they do not leave a negative review based on something we cannot control or change. Thank you for your understanding with this. Most of our guests have given us glowing reviews "The best place I've stayed in for my entire 3,000 mile road trip," etc. You will love our place, including our peaceful and serene backyard. But if busy streets are an issue, please don't book our place.

Uber or Lyft are your best bet if you donā€™t bring a vehicle. It is a short Uber ride to downtown. Feel free to use our grass to turn your car around on. Being on a busy street, itā€™s easier to pull onto the street when facing forward.

The cleaning fee is based on a "courteous guest". Any excessive dirtiness or neglect will accrue an additional $95 fee.

This was, by far, the. Most comfortable and welcoming place I have ever stayed. There was everything you could possibly need in the house, Ana a few fun extra snacks and such. It was clean and beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. We will stay here again!

We loved this stay, the location was perfect as it was 5 minutes away from our Son's house. The property was very clean and very accommodating. We would recommend this property to anyone coming to Charleston. Short drive to downtown and Folly Beach, one of our favorite places to visit.

Very Cozy and Clean

We stopped for two nights in Charleston and booked this cute cottage. The owner, Sarah was extremely helpful before check-in and during our stay. A very nice extra were farm fresh eggs available for our enjoyment. They were delicious! The proximity to Charleston city center was close, but not within walking distance. The property is on a busy road. If mild road noise doesn't bother you then you wouldn't notice.

My friend and I had an amazing stay at this property! Sarah was very communicative and nice and made sure our stay was perfect! The hot tub was amazing and so were the fresh eggs from the chickens! Highly recommend staying here to see all that Charleston has to offer!

Charleston Getaway

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. This property was just as described in the listing. The location was perfect for those who donā€™t want to stay in the city itself. The rental was clean, nicely appointed, and some fun treats and surprises were left for us to enjoy...even some fresh eggs from the property hens. The rental was near restaurants, excursions, and just a short drive to the city. We enjoyed a day at The Magnolia Plantation, a boat ride over to Fort Sumter(I got to help raise the flag for the day), City Market, two separate carriage rides(historical and ghost), and enjoyed many great meals. The hosts were very nice and easily contacted if needed. You won't be disappointed with this great rental.

Great location and very clean!

My son and I had a great stay! It is perfectly located in close proximity to downtown Charleston! We were able to walk to a nearby grocery store as well as an excellent local restaurant for a delicious dinner! The house was so clean and nicely decorated! The bed was super comfortable too! A definite plus! Our family will definitely stay here again!

Fantastic host and great location!

We had a great experience staying here. Sarah is a host who will go above and beyond to help - and she was always quick to respond. The location was perfect! Most activities were 10-15 min away. We stayed here with our 4 year old, and we had plenty of space. Access to the neat backyard was also very much appreciated. Would highly recommend staying here!

This place is very cozy. Our grandkids age 12 and 8 loved it. Sarah provides everything you can think of to make your stay comfy and relaxing. There are all kinds of extras. We accidentally left our grandsons hoodie. Sarah was very accommodating in shipping his shirt back to us. We definitely recommend a stay here!

Great Find with Random Perks that were great for my family

What a great find for my family of 4. The location was within a 20 minute drive or less of everything we had interest in doing. The price was right and had everything we needed during our stay. I was concerned about it being a smaller space with 2 kids, daughter (6) and son (10) but we LOVED and fully used the backyard areas. My son loved playing with Sarah's sons. They were so well behaved and that was a highlight of the trip to get back to hang out with them on the trampoline or playing basketball. My daughter loved the trampoline and feeding the geese in the canal in the back. I loved the mini chicken lesson when Sarah let my kids collect the chicken eggs and some of the tidbits they learned about chickens. It was such a unique experience for a rental to have but it was just want my family needed. The hot tub was waiting on a part so we were bummed about that. The queen bed in the master was super comfy. The kids slept on the twin air mattress which was the tallest thing we've ever seen, and there was a twin fold out for my younger one. There was enough room in the bedroom to finagle the 2 twin mattress so we could all sleep in there together. They added a desk to the main room which was not part of the original posting when I first reserved so that was a nice add for me to do some work at. We would definitely consider coming back and staying.

Perfect stay!

Saraā€˜s house was meticulously clean, very conveniently located (10 minutes to the beach, 10 minutes to downtown, restaurants within walking distance), the ā€œbusy ā€œroad was never an issue, it was dead quiet at night. We had a great time in Charleston, and at Folly Beach, and will definitely be back!

Visit to Low Country

We enjoyed our visit to Charleston and surrounding low country. This house location is just across the river from Charleston and also 15 minutes to Folly Beach (without traffic). The house was clean, the kitchen was well equipped with oven, toaster oven, microwave, full size fridge, and big sink. We walked to the nearby grocery store and grilled one night. The house has a fun backyard with lights, canal-like waterway, fire pit, gardens, gas grill, and even chickens. Sarah, the host, was very communicative about everything.

Perfect for our infant son

We had a mini family vacation in Charleston with our 18 month old son. It was so nice that there was a pack n play and portable high chair and we didnā€™t have to pack ours. It wasnā€™t too far from downtown and it worked well for our visit!
