Good facility

Great stay. Good location, well-maintained grounds, and building. Great Lenai and floor-to-ceiling windows for a great mountain view and some ocean views. Our room was near the Garbage chute on the 6th floor. People would leave their trash bags on the floor and leave the door open causing the smell to percolate the surrounding hallway. Informed management and they started sending folks to check regularly. Signing on the door to leave it closed at all times would help.

Peaceful Unit with XL Lanai

We really enjoyed our stay here! My mother-in-law was over the moon with the expansive lanai with ocean view. It's to the side but still better (closer) than I expected from the photos. After visiting the pool area, we were grateful that this unit does not overlook it, as it can be pretty crowded and noisy with kids. The property was clean and spacious. The beach umbrella and Tommy Bahama chairs were indispensable. Rollaway bed for $19/night was probably not much better than the included pull-out couch. Would be nice to have salt and pepper in the kitchen. Overall we thought it was a great value though.

It was the best!

Communication was awesome! The condo was exactly what was pictured online. We had everything we could have possibly needed - beach stuff, pool stuff, laundry, full kitchen - we were so happy with our stay and we'll definitely be back!

Overall Great experience & enjoyable stay.

Great experience. Our Condo was as advertised. Clean & beautiful with awesome large lanai. Resort was wonderful from valet to coffee shop, on site restaurants pools & easy walk to beach & water in front of units. Unit came equipped with beach chairs umbrella ice chest all very useful during our stay. Overall Great experience & enjoyable stay.

The views were outstanding.

Our stay at Honua Kai was great! Unit 620 was perfect for our family. This two bedroom suite was clean and stocked with beach towels, beach toys, a pack-n-play, and many other baby items. The views were outstanding. We look forward to coming back again.

The unit was exactly as the pictures and description portrayed. I felt this unit was a very good value for what you get and it was clean and well stocked for our arrival. KBM did a good job of getting us ready for our trip and sent a link for us to pre-book activities we wanted to do. Having the rental car thrown in with the reservation was an added bonus as it was one less thing we had to deal with. The grounds of the hotel were very nice and well manicured. The pools are nice and they seem to have something for everyone, even a "quiet" pool area. Dukes restaurant has good food albeit pricey as are most beachside restaurants.

KBM Resorts was great!

KBM was great! We are on Maui twice a year. We will continue to use then for our trips. They are thorough and very customer service oriented. I have already referred then to a family member who is booking their first trip to Maui.

The unit is spacious and modern

Book-it Danno - Just make sure they aren't painting.

We went out of our way and paid a significant premium to stay at the Houna Kai property. We stayed there 10 years ago and have wanted to return ever since. I would have rated this property as a FIVE star, but there were things that did not make this the best value if considering the price we paid. See the negatives and suggestions below. POSITIVES: Overall this condo was marvelous. Near the top floor, on the rear corner of the facility. It had an outrageously large lanai and a really good view of both the ocean (at a distance but still great) and the mountain. I would say that it might be the perfect position for a Houna Kai condo. Spacious. Near and convenient to the elevators but not too close. Arrangements, check-in and check-out were as smooth as possible. It was very clean and very comfortable. I would stay in this specific condo again based on its location. There were four beach chairs, a cooler and umbrellas available. Very nice and appreciated. Glassware and kitchen materials/cookware were generally ok for a rental and of sufficient variety. NEGATIVES: Nobody informed us that the facility was being painted while we were there. Between 8am and 5pm Monday through Friday there were THREE boom cranes below us extending painters around and over our Lanai. The painters themselves were very nice. The machines were loud and made the lanai and occasionally the condo unusable during the day. Considering the price we paid to stay there, this was not acceptable and this condo should NOT have been rented out while this was going on. Also, the oven never could quite reach over 350 degrees, so things like cooking a frozen pizza would not be possible. The refrigerator was feeble in terms of cooling. There was a notice on the side of it informing us of this. It only seemed able to make about two glasses of ice per day as well and they advised putting groceries in the freezer section if you purchased a large amount. OF NOTE but NOT NEGATIVES: The lanai faces south. If renting during the winter it receives full sun all day. Keep that in mind if you plan to spend a lot of mid-days on the lanai. There were no cushons for any of the lanai furnature, which would have been nice and more comfortable considering the price of this rental. We also beleive this was the very first vacation rental of any type we have had where we did not inherit any spices or staples. There was not even any salt or pepper. The washer and dryer were nice and worked well.

Great views of the Westin and the parking garage

You can also see the ocean from the deck (but from nowhere else). Noise from backing up dump- and delivery-trucks, emergency vehicles, etc, was at times annoying. Everything else is Honua Kai. Simply the best. The condo is spacious, well furnished, the grounds are well cared for, beach and pools are great, Duke's is expensive but solid. The management company did a great job, communication was easy. The number of guests at Honua Kai who felt that mask mandates didn't apply to them was disappointing, but that has nothing to do with this unit. We loved the trip. Based on the unit description we foolishly assumed it was a bit closer to the beach side of the property, but that's on us for not making sure we new where exactly it was located.

We will definitely be using KBM Resort again!

Very easy to work with and all directions for the unit were clearly communicated. Unit was perfect for 2 couples and fully stocked with towels, beach items (chairs, umbrellas, etc) and kitchen appliances. We will definitely be using KBM Resort again!

Perfect location and fabulous stay

Our family (husband, two teenage girls, and myself) had a truly spectacular time here. Plenty of space to spread out, stunning views of the mountains and the beach, all the amenities we needed to prepare a few meals. Location was super convenient to everything we wanted to do and a perfect beach area to swim right out front. Everything was clean and waiting for us to check in. The beach gear was everything you needed. Truly the best experience I have ever had with a vacation rental. Will absolutely stay here on our next visit without any hesitation.

We loved this place.

Our stay in Maui was beautiful. The property and grounds were very well kept. The walkway along the ocean went for miles. A great place for family. Our condo had a very big balcony where we had coffee in the morning and drinks in the evening . The whales were very active during our stay. We could watch from our balcony. The pools were great for family. Driving around the island was also very easy.

WE LOVED our stay in this unit. The ocean was so much closer than it looked the photos. I miss it every day and can't wait to go back. The unit was clean and just lovely. The property was lovely too! We can't wait to go back.
