Puako Pau Hana is a great place to escape from all your cares! Located in the heart of Puako, you are literally just a few steps to the most beautiful little beach in Puako!
Puako is known for it's magical old fashioned neighborhood feel and remarkable clear water, perfect for diving and snorkeling.
Puako Pau Hana has a great room design, which flows the dining & living room, then beyond to the expansive covered lanai.
The split floor plan features two spacious bedrooms, with a king bed in the primary suite and another king bed in bedroom 2. There are two full bathrooms, all on the ground floor, no stairs!
The home is decorated with antiques, Balinese furniture and local artist painting and artwork.
The expansive covered lanai, with a BBQ & dining area also includes new patio furniture , just kick back and read or take a nap outside in the breezes~
Recently remodeled and upgraded, with new paint, counters, Stainless steel refrigerator with filtered ice maker and cold water in the door, water filter at the kitchen sink, no need to buy bottled water, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and toaster oven, induction cooktops and oven, rice cooker, new large covered BBQ, , you have all you need to enjoy your Hawaii Life!
Just installed Artesian Water Reverse Osmosis water system, no need to buy bottled water!!
There is a wonderful outdoor shower, lots of beach accessories like chairs, umbrellas and ice chest.
The house is two residences with separate driveways and private outdoor spaces, including covered lanai, outdoor shower & laundry.
The hosts live upstairs and are readily available for any questions.

We enjoyed our stay, the house is spacious and clean. We appreciate that beach items like body boards and umbrella were made available to guests. The location is great as it is close to some of the best beaches the island offers (Hapuna, Waikalea). The beach in front of the house is full of turtles and tide pools. There is also a general store close by. We liked to go to Foodland to get poke before hitting the beaches.Definitely recommended!

We absolutely loved our time here! The beach across is the street was a little rocky for our youngest swimmer but there is a beautiful sandy beach just 8 min north and the beach across the street is still great for exploring tide pools. The rental property is very comfortable for four although my kids were annoyed I was making them share a bed. It was well stocked with towels and other supplies. They have some beach supplies available for use (three chairs, boogie boards, etc.). We liked that the house is a little bit away from the busier resort areas. Highly recommend staying here!

Location, location, location!! Such a beautiful spot on the island with beach access right across the street! Beach 69 is only a few minutes north of the house, and itā€™s the BEST! The beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, snorkel gear, cooler, and cooler tote bags made our beach days very pleasant! Plus the Manuelaā€™s Malsadas food truck is parked at the intersection of Puako Beach Dr and the highway every day. Mmmmmmm. The home itself was just right for our family of 3 adults. The Nuwave cooktops, outdoor grill, and toaster oven were plenty to cook meals on. The AC kept the bedrooms cool, and the super huge fans in the living and dining room kept those areas enjoyable also. (Itā€™s just plain HOT there, so this was essential to us.) There is a great collection of books to read and a couple board games as well. The backyard lanai has a huge rod for hanging towels and suits to dry. The outdoor shower is fabulous also! I did not realize this was a shared property when I booked it, but donā€™t let that dissuade you. We never felt awkward or lost our sense of privacy. Thank you, Jan and Johnny, for sharing your home at such a reasonable rate.

Beautiful Puako

This was our second visit to this wonderful property. We love the location and easy access to the water. Fun to see turtles daily and enjoyed the sunsets. The house is well stocked and very comfortable. We enjoyed the backyard as well. Great place to hang out! We will definitely return. Mahalo!!

Perfect!

We had 14 days of comfort and lots of beach time. Cooler and beach chairs were much appreciated as many other places weā€™ve stayed donā€™t have them. Doesnā€™t have a built in stove or oven but the appliances worked well for both. Host was attentive to our needs and brought us apple bananas and flowers from the yard. Quiet and relaxing (except for the fun sounds of the kitties playing upstairs, which made us smile. Thank you!

Quiet neighborhood steps from the beach

Fantastic!!

Jan's place is amazing. Well laid out with lots of space both indoors and outdoors. Very clean and welcoming. Jan was an absolute pleasure to communicate with. She definitely cares that people staying are well hosted.The house is located in a magical area. Turtles right out the front and excellent snorkeling just a short walk away. We can't wait to return. This was our third time staying at the Puako house. As always , we were delighted. The house is tastefully decorated, and very comfortable and quiet in its garden setting. The hosts, Jan and Johnny, are friendly folks who are always welcoming. A wonderful experience

Shhhhh donā€™t tell anyone about this beauty. We want it all to ourselves.

What a wonderful property and location. Jan is a delight to work with. The house is perfect for 2 couples because itā€™s laid out in 2 wings. The house interior and exterior are lovely and fully stocked. The furniture and beds are extremely comfortable . We lacked for nothing. We canā€™t wait to come back.

Weā€™ve stayed at this property for over 25 yearsā€¦.year after year. That probably says more than anything else I can put into words. We love this town, this home, the homeowners and all our neighbors. We spend all our days swimming and sleep well at nightā€¦ā€¦it works out for us.

The hosts have thought of everything. A slice of domestic bliss on the otherwise resort-oriented Kohala Coast. Beautiful and spacious apartment and yard with a private entrance and private outdoor shower in front for rinsing off after beach excursions. Theyā€™ve also provided everything you need for a day at the beach, including body boards and kids life vests.

This perfect cottage in quiet Puako is walking distance from the ocean. Great place for watching the turtles and the surfers. Love the furnishings, the private garden lanai and the fresh fruit from Johnny.
