New Hampshire Home w/ Private Beach, Dock & Rafts!

This homeowner has asked us to pass along the following response: "We have a beautiful home on Locke Lake in Center Barnstead New Hampshire.  The smaller size of the lake makes it perfect for family use as there are limited watercrafts and the depth is very safe as it is a man-made lake with an average depth of approximately 5 feet. The one drawback is the bottom beyond the depth of approximately 3 feet is soft and silt-laden so wading out beyond knee depth encounters a soft bottom of soil. The benefit of a man-made shallow lake is that the water is warm and very clean as it is fed from Half Moon lake next door and keeps the water moving and clean.  The lake is carefully monitored for water quality and tested regularly and even has a diving company that routinely removed any overgrowth of water plants to keep it enjoyable to swim and canoe and boat in. There are some differences in a smaller man-made lake but the advantages outweigh the risks of a much deeper lake, cooler water, and more watercraft use." Best, the Evolve Team
