Luxury Private Thai Mediterranean Villa with Garden and Pool, 3200m²

Enjoy stunning views of Doi Suthep.

This house was built by myself with the goal being for me and my family to live in it, as a result I spared no expense in the fit and finishes.
The roof is fully teak shingles, and there is teak carpentry all throughout the house.

The walls are actually doubly thick and coupled with the extremely high ceilings provides an extremely comfortable and relaxing living experience inside the rooms.
There is also a pool and large 3200m² garden for the kids to play in.

There is a full kitchen with whiteware available. There is complementary tea and coffee throughout the day.

There is a TV in the lounge which has Netflix available so you can relax and watch some movies or TV shows while you stay with us.
Wifi password will be provided once you have confirmed your booking.

Please be aware that the maids are there to help keep the property tidy, they do not cook or do laundry.

We have a lovely small lake filled with lotus flowers next door, which you can jog/walk/bike around. The neighbours are all very friendly and it is fairly an upmarket safe and quiet area.
There is a very nice tourist attraction/Buddhist retreat called Lanna Devalai right next door which is open to visit every day free of charge.
There are also nearby markets, cafes and some famous temples within walking distance,

Renting a vehicle is highly recommended as you will need it to get to and from the house from the airport. There is not a lot of public transport available around my house.
There is Grab Taxi (mobile taxi app) services available locally.

Tropical Villa is a lovely house, although sparsely furnished and appointed, situated down a quiet country cul-de-sac. It is clean and tidy and the bedrooms are spacious and en-suite. For reasons of privacy, we chose not to have the housekeeper in attendance. However Anant was always responsive and helpful. The pool was lovely, although quite cold and only in the sun in the morning. Some instructions for things like the very complicated microwave might have been helpful, along with some information about local services such as supermarkets etc. The surroundings are peaceful and Anant kindly found a bicycle for our use. A car is essential as it is 5-6 miles from the centre of Chiang Mai and a lot further to most of the interesting places to visit.Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Nice place, not well suited to young kids

The bedrooms only access each other through an outdoor space with a pool. Good for three couples to have privacy; not so good for young kids. We cut our stay short and the host was very understanding and helpful.

Excellent Stay

Our owner-host David and on-site host Daa were most helpful and responsive to our needs. The property is a tranquil retreat that was easy to find using google maps. It is away from the tourist areas but near enough to things we wanted to do. The rooms were great and the beds comfortable. We had help with the BBQ and laundry. The kitchen was fully functional for our needs. We cooked a couple of meals there. There was parking for the car and a hose we could use to rinse it off after driving through a couple of mud puddles during our time out. This felt like a more genuine way to experience Chiang Mai.

Perfect villa for any small group

We are a group of four (all over 70) travelers that have shared adventures all over the world. We spent seven weeks in Thailand (three in Chiang Mai) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay ay this beautiful villa. To keep this review short (and hopefully more widely read) I just want to say that it was just as advertised, impeccably maintained and the perfect location if you're planning a Chiang Mai visit.

Amazing

While the property is a bit off the beaten path, it is an amazing place to stay. Daa the housekeeper cleaned the house everyday. She also did our laundry and was generally very helpful. The kitchen is fully stocked and we were even able to cookout our last night. We left some charcoal behind (it was super difficult to find it in Chiang Mai). You really need a car if you want to stay here and cars were extremely cheap to rent. Would absolutely stay here again.

Simply Perfect

This villa is all as described and more. Located a bit off the beaten path, yet close to Chiang Mai, the privacy is wonderful. The private pool is great and the layout provides large bedrooms and a great kitchen and spacious living room. Most importantly, Daa, the attentive housekeeper, goes out of her way to be of service and the owner is very helpful. This is a property that will exceed expectations.

An Enjoyable Stay

We had a relaxing, wonderful visit to Tropical Villa. Daa, the live-in maid, took excellent care of us. The place is kept very clean. Our family enjoyed the pool and gazebo surrounded by the beautifully immaculate surroundings very much.

I have personally been in Thailand for over 40 years and have since changed to a Thai nationality (from British). I have established multiple businesses, and in my spare time I like to build my own houses as a side hobby.

My favourite food would have to be a nice Lamb Roast with crispy roast potatoes!

Examples of shows I like include: Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Mr Robot, Better Call Saul, Altered Carbon, Travelers, Stranger Things, Luther, The Expanse. To name a few.

My life motto is to spend as much time as I can with the people I care about the most.

Staying in my house you will feel like you are living in your home away from home, but with the benefit of having live in maids to look after you! This is because all the houses I host are built by myself for my family and myself to live in. As such no corners were cut in the construction, and fit and finish of the houses, and I certainly hope you can feel this when you visit!
