The property was very neat and clean and obvious effort made to add beach decor and other amenities such as shampoo and toiletries, basic foods like eggs and such in the refrigerator to give it a homey feel. The beds were comfortable and the picture advertised was pretty accurate. If you are looking for a quick stay and don’t care about plush amenities, the neighborhood, or the busy road to cross to get to the beach then this is the place for you.

Nice little place

This was a very nice little place to stay. It’s right off a major road which makes it a little nerve-wracking to pull into the driveway, and the road noise is a bit much, but overall it is a nice and cute place. The ceiling is a little thin so you can sometimes hear the upstairs neighbors, but the host is extremely friendly and helpful. The bathroom, bedroom, and kitchen were all clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

My two adult sons and I spent five nights here while we were visiting family and friends in the area, and I'm so glad we found this place! .The space is compact, but as its own unit with two beds, a full (but small) kitchen, and full bathroom with good hot water, it offered similar amenities to places in the area that ran much, much higher per night. I think the place is an ideal "home base" for budget-minded travelers who are willing to make do with small spaces. We're three adult males, and it was tight but we made it work. It would be a breeze for two people and an amazing find for a solo traveler. As others have mentioned, it's on a busy road with constant traffic during the day, but you barely hear it in the summer when the AC is on. You will need to work your New Jersey driving confidence to get out of the parking area during the day, but if you can't do it, you probably shouldn't be driving in the area anyway. The internet hiccuped a couple times but was strong enough for me to do some work using a VPN. The smart TV can be slightly temperamental too, but truly, we just felt lucky this place existed and was available because everything else we were seeing was 2-4 x more. Strongly recommend for economical travelers who don't need large spaces.

Cozy stay

We had a great time, check in was nice and easy. I never had any issues while I was there. It’s close to the beach, the subway to get to NYC, and about an hour drive from LaGuardia airport. Be prepared for traffic while heading into NYC and give yourself enough time!

Could not stay due to very strong chemical odor due to cleaning products. Suspect this is due to a possible mold issue. Futon bed is not suitable for sleeping on and regular bed was only good for one person.

Thanks for the review however there is no mold at all just proper cleaning. Also, the pictures and the description don’t lie. What you see is exactly what you get. There is a futon that sleeps 2. We describe that also in our description and a twin bed. If you were not sure why didn’t you ask before coming? Also, I have guests who ask if we could use cleaning agents that don’t have scents. We do that as well. I just believe you just wanted to start trouble. The description is clean clear.

The perfect escape

I stayed at the property for a month. It was perfect for my needs yet it lends itself for other getaways... a couples weekend escape, girlfriends getaway or simply a chance to recharge in a clean, comfortable atmosphere. Nerine, the hostess was not only lovely but was on top of any questions or needs I requested. She was beyond gracious and an overall lovely person. I would highly recommend this property. I will miss watching the sunrise while enjoying my cup of coffee on the front bench provided. I will not hesitate to book in the future when I need a little break and some peace and quiet.

Sobre o anfitrião

Anfitrião: Nerine Dixon and Kamau Austin

Imagem do perfil do anfitrião
I am mother of 3 boys. I have been in school for the last 2 years and just graduated in June. I needed another form of income to take care of my family. So, why not do what I love. I love meeting new people and opening my home to make people as comfortable as possible. My boys are in college except one. The baby who is in 1st grade. They all support me with keeping the home clean. I hope you will consider staying with us. We love would love to serve you.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

I use to live in NYC before I bought this home. I needed a place close enough to my work place and yet safe enough for growing children. I moved to the Jersey shore because love the scenic view of the ocean and the open space for children to play. I am off of the
highway close to transportation and a 7 minute walk to the beach. My driveway can fit 5 cars. I love my property!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

I live a few blocks away from the beach and also Cheesequake state park which is also a great place to site see.
