Wonderful and spacious home with shaded patio area OVERLOOKING CANAL in the back of the house!

Plenty of car and boat trailer parking either under carport or on gravel next to unit.

Porch overlooking the Canal has partial glass block wall for privacy (separating next door unit #1098068, also owned by us and option to rent both units together). Porch is great for enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner overlooking canal and viewing evening sunsets.
Wi-Fi access, fully furnished, amenities featured are listed below including: 46" flat screen TV in living room, and 32" flat screen in master BR. Central Air and ceiling fans in all rooms, kitchen fully furnished with all you will need during your stay.

Trailer Parking in front for 1 trailer only

37 feet total of boat dockage on a 100' wide deep water canal with cement bulkhead + wood vertical posts(lights, electric, and water at dock.) + outside shower and bait freezer, and gas grill.
Very easy access that leads to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

Use of Cabana Club (a short walk, or drive, 1/2 mile from SUNKEYS rental which includes: ocean beach, heated pool, hot tub, showers, restrooms, poolside cocktail lounge, game room, fishing pier, snacks and bar available. Next door is full service Havana Jacks Restaurant.

Take an evening stroll to Key Colony Beach "Sunset Park", where you can view the beautiful keys sunsets, and make sure you bring along your evening libations & your camera.

Also on KCB is a 9 hole PAR 3 golf, tennis, bocce ball, basketball court, pickle ball, horseshoe area, playgrounds, bike, walking and roller blade paths, boat rentals, snorkel & dive boats, and deep-sea fishing charter boats. RESTAURANTS ON KEY COLONY BEACH: Key Colony Inn, and Havana Jacks (all a short walk or drive). Nearby are Sparky's Restaurant and Island Fish Company. Many more restaurants in Marathon too numerous to mention (List posted in rental units).

Many nearby attractions and activities . . Aquarium Encounters, Dolphin Research Center, Crane Point Hammock & Museum, Theater of the Sea, Bahia Honda State Park, Key West, etc, etc.

A FUN PLACE: Miniature Golf at Boondocks (MM 27.5) and while there enjoy a nice lunch or dinner.

Terrific location

Perfect spot for anyone with a boat. Close proximity to the Atlantic and Gulf side. There's a bait shop with fuel very close and easily accessible. The property itself is fantastic. Lots of space in the kitchen, living room and bedrooms. Nice porch facing the canal with captivating sunsets. If you bring your boat, you'll have no problems getting in the canal then tying up to the dock. There's even a cleaning table and hose right on the dock. We'll definitely be back.

Great location

We rented both sides of the duplex with another family because there was enough dock space for both our boats. We loved the access to the seas. And we loved the marine life - we even had manatees visit our dock. The duplex itself is dated but comfortable and priced accordingly. If you plan to cook a lot, you may want to bring your favorite kitchen supplies. Other reviews were helpful for preparation. We had a couple of issues during our stay and Gregg responded promptly and addressed the issues immediately. We would definitely come back should we plan another trip to the Keys.

Bring essentials with you

Overall our stay was okay. Here are a few things that everyone needs to know that are not mentioned in the listing. Bring the following: garbage bags( they only provide you with one), paper towels, dish soap, cooking utensils (what they provide is extremely limited), can opener (theirs doesn't work) and if you plan to cook, just note that the teflon on their skillets are all scratched up and the food will stick. Also, their listing says no pets, which is one of the reasons I selected this property. There was a lot of dog hair on the sofa beds and when I asked the property manager about it, he said that they do allow small to medium size dogs. He did offer to send someone to clean the place but I would presume it would have been cleaned prior to my arrival. Just a helpful note if you have allergies like me. Again the place was just okay but the location and overall experience was great!

Key Colony Beach

This place is in perfect location...Canal access to fish and bring boat to residence..We were 1 house away from other family members..Short drive to local shops & grocery stores..The condo will sleep 8-9 people but only 1 other bathroom besides one in master...Very roomy overall, however the condo could use some updating and a lot of TLC...Master bedroom stayed hot even with hurricane shutters closed..Master bathroom shower is super small,, drain cover was broken and just laying in there..there were ants..closet doors in each bedroom need to be fixed/replaced as they don't stay on the track..No TV in spare room..Beds are hard and pillows felt like sleeping on sandbags..Fridge doesn't keep cold and the icemaker sounds like someone is beating on the side...no garbage disposal...No dish soap or anything to clean with...The pots and pans need to be trashed,,they are warped, burnt and burned most of the food we tried to cook...I text host about tv remote, trash bags, and washcloths,, no response til the next day when I was told remote should be there and they only provide a couple bags...I told him there were no batteries for it and there was only 1 trashbag...never got any batteries or washcloths..You have access to Cabana Club pool which was nice...beach area is small and covered in seaweed as most of the beaches are around there since they are "man-made"..Frozen drinks were delish and food was too...Overall had a great vacay but wish condo would have been perfect too.

Perfect Keys retreat. Dock was great. House also.

Recommend this home for so many reasons. Close to everything on water and off. Love the Cabana club. Drinks and food pool ocean was great and just a clip away. Greg/owner was easily accessible and very nice

Hidden gem of the Keys

We had a wonderful time during our vacation! The house is very clean, and the bed is soft and comfortable. We loved hanging out on the balcony where we saw the boats passing by on the canal, enjoyed the breeze and beautiful view, and watched Jupiter in the evening sky from the balcony! We also enjoyed grilling fresh seafood we bought from the local fish market, Fish Tale. The Cabana Club house is absolutely a gem – our 5-year old daughter loved the swimming pool while we enjoyed the peaceful view of the ocean and had conversations with other people. The private beach in front of the clubhouse is clean, quiet, and with a gorgeous view. Was also able to play pickleball with the locals on a fabulous set of courts located in the complex. People are very friendly and the pace of life here is nice and slow – a perfect place for our vacation! Strongly recommend this place and we definitely would love to come back soon! Gregg our host was very friendly and responsive.

Clean and spacious

The house was located in a easy access canal for renting a boat which was great. Living room was spacious for 5 people. The neighborhood is super quiet. The lights under the house were out which made it hard to see when grilling given it gets dark at 5:30 in the fall/winter. The house was clean and had no odd smells. The only things that need to improve is their is a lack of silverware, the pans are all damaged and need replacing, and there is no soap or laundry detergent provided. Given we need to clean the towels I would hope to be provided with the tools needed to complete that without spending my own money on detergent.

September Lobster/Fishing Trip

We love the Key Colony Beach Area. It was our 1st time staying at this property and we enjoyed everything about it. The home is a little out dated (which the rental price reflected) but was very clean and roomy with great views of the canal. We spent our days out on the water and was nice to come back to the dock, tie up the boat then clean our catch and cook upstairs in the very well equipped kitchen. We loved our back deck and the views of the canal while watching other boaters returning from their travels. The owner Gregg was very nice to work with. Would definitely stay here again.

Relaxing stay at Marathon

Although the property is older it is clean and comfortable. Gregg was very accommodating to work with. We always have so much fun when we go down to the keys and this trip was no different. Very nice to have a place on a canal especially since we like to rent a boat for a few days. Would like to of seen better cookware and sharp knives as we do like to cook or ourselves. Overall I would recommend this house for your extended stay.

Wonderful place!

The property was exactly as described. It was very roomy and comfortable, and the deck was great for relaxing and watching the activity on the canal. The convenience of the public boat launch was fantastic. We had a great, relaxed vacation and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay. The property had better views than the post showed. The inside was dated but clean and had plenty of towels, blankets, pillows and cooking utensils. Everything was comfortable and the place was so convenient. We made use of the beach club multiple times. It was very nice to have that ability. We also really appreciated the list of restaurants with highlights and comments. We used it often and it didn’t steer us wrong once. Relaxing in the evening was awesome in the spacious living room. Plenty of comfy seating for all. Coffee in the mornings was fantastic on the porch. Beautiful view and plenty of seating again. There were neighbors on the other side for part of our stay and we couldn’t hear anything through the walls. That was a nice surprise. Our only complaints would be the fact that the sheets wouldn’t stay on the beds. The fitted sheets are stretched out too much. Sheet clips or new sheets would go along way. The sheets were nice feeling but too stretched to stay on the beds. And finally the lack of toilet paper and garbage bags, and hand soap. There were only two rolls of toilet paper and 2 garbage bags for an 8 day stay with a family of 4. And the liquid soap in the guest bath was empty when we got there and the master bath hand soap clearly had water added to it. In a pandemic I really appreciate ample hand soap. The last issue was they mention starting the wash before leaving but there was no laundry detergent to do so. These complaints are minor in my opinion. Easily taken care of with a quick trip to the store. I would absolutely stay again. I just figure with the mention of these inconveniences perhaps when I do stay again they won’t be an issue.

Stay at 9th street Key Colony Beach.

The property was spotless. The neighborhood was very quiet. The bed linens were clean. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of cookware, plates, cups and utensils. We would stay there again.

Wonderful stay. The property is in a great location, clean, quiet, convenient and well appointed. Highly recommend for someone wanting to keep a boat and trailer at the house. Free ramp immediately outside of the entrance of KCB.

Have owned and been renting this duplex since 1989. Our family and friends spent many vacations at Sunkeys, thoroughly enjoying many days there. Husband and I are now full time residents in Key Colony Beach.
