Stunning Ocean Views, Peaceful Setting And A Short Walk To The Beach

RNTL_007252-2017.....Cardiff by the Sea is a classic Southern California beach town that boasts perfect weather, breathtaking views and two miles of Pacific coastline, a 900 acre ecological reserve and world class surfing. Locals and tourists enjoy this friendly beach town with quaint shops, delicious cuisine, yoga studios, ocean sports, parks, a walkable downtown area and plenty of biking opportunities year round. Its not unusual to sun bathe on the beach in January.

Our home is centrally located in the Composer district in Cardiff by the Sea. We pride ourselves on this as being one of the best locations in Cardiff. We have excellent views, we have the walkability and we have a quiet setting which all makes for a perfect vacation. Whether you are headed to the San Elijo state beaches, Seaside Market, VGs donuts, Starbucks, Pipes Cafe, Waverly, The Lost Abbey brewery, Fish 101 or the new Encinitas community park it is all only a few minutes walk away. If you do need to hop in the car and go to the Del Mar Racetrack, San Diego Zoo, Padres game, Chargers game, Encinitas Ranch golf course, Legoland or Disneyland the freeway is just a few minutes away. New to the area is the Encinitas Community Park which features several ball fields, playground, dog park and skate park. I urge you to check the map below and see exactly where the house is located in relation to the beach, shopping and parks. We have an excellent location!

As you enter through the front gate you will walk into our private courtyard filled with succulents and palm trees, now go ahead and relax it only gets better. From the front door you step into the airy living room filled with natural light and ten foot high ceilings. This is a great central area for families, where you can play games, movies or watch football while the chefs make dinner. Our home consists of 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths a gorgeous siting room to relax and enjoy the views or practice yoga, we also have a small kids room or nursery. This room is ideal if you have small children and need a place to do homework or just play. The kitchen was remodeled this summer (2015) and is ready for your gourmet meals or prepping your beach snacks, compete with Bosch and Sub Zero appliances. Enjoy the ocean view at the dinning table which seats 6 and the kids are always happy to sit at the bar (3 stools). In the spring, summer and fall we tend to eat on the ocean view deck and watch the sunsets or waves.. The laundry room sits off the kitchen as well. There is an office area/desk if heaven forbid you need to do a little work yet there is a great view to distract you. The downstairs is complete with 1 bedroom with ensuite full bath sitting room with stunning views and small kids room and powder room There is a bedroom with a full bath and King bed and filtered ocean views. The 2nd bedroom downstairs is truly amazing where you will be surrounded in white water ocean and coastline views to La Jolla. The french doors lead out on to the deck where the stunning views continue. If you can't get the master this is the next best thing. The final bedroom is the master bedroom which is located upstairs. We feel our master has some of the best views in Cardiff. Its the views to the South that I truly love where you see the coastline wrapping around all the way to La Jolla and the majestic Pacific ocean. Wake up and walk out on the large private deck, have a cup of coffer or tea and just breathe in the fresh ocean air. The master is complete with a shower and ocean view tub.

Last but not least is our yard and if you have kids you know they need room to run. There is plenty of room to kick the ball or play tag in the grassy yard while you sip cocktails or wine on the deck and barbecue. We also have a small sandbox for the little ones by the deck and a side yard with a dirt area we call "the workshop". We use this area a lot, with 2 boys under the age of 4 who love dirt.

This is a kid friendly home and we can suggest a ton of local activities for you and your family.

We do have an onsite property manager who occupies unshared space. She is there to help, but will remain invisible if you don't need anything. There is no shared space with her.

BEACH ROUTINE
Our beach routine usually consists of going to Seaside market to prepare proper beach snacks. Our snacks of choice are baguette sandwiches, chips, cookies, salami, cheese and crackers, fruit usually apples or grapes and plenty of water. If you don't want to pack a lunch you can always walk down the beach and up the stairs to the main entrance of the campground for some tasty tacos or burritos at Bull taco. Great menu and you eat right on the cliff. There is also a camp store with some cool souvenirs, drinks and dessert. Once we have our snacks and beach gear ready we drive or walk down directly from the house and post up at Pipes or Barneys beach. Depending on how much stuff we are taking to the beach we either walk or drive. With 4 kids, surfboards, towels, chairs, small cooler, beach toys and food it can be a lot. Driving takes a few minutes and you can purchase daily parking pass for the lots or park street side. Walking can take anywhere from 5 minutes at a fast pace or 20 minutes if the kids are slow. One of the great things about the beaches directly below our home is that in the summer you can almost always find a spot that is not to crowded especially on the weekdays. If you want a crowded beach or have teens looking for teens and action Moonlight beach in Encinitas is the place to be. Surfing, bodysurfing, soccer, swimming, paddle ball, SUP and sandcastles are our go to activities and after a few hours or more we head home. Showering the sand off and then sitting down for a cold drink, watching sports or barbecuing on the deck is the next step in a great beach day.
