Large house is available for holiday rental in Saula with views across the tidal waters of Saula Bay to Achill Sound village.
Recently refurbished to a very high standard, with hardwood floors and leather lounge suite, this detached house stands in its own grounds with ample off street parking. It sleeps up to ten, in four bedrooms; one master en-suite, two triples (one double bed and one single bed in each) and one bedroom with bunk beds. There is a family bathroom as well as a downstairs cloakroom. The property includes a large fully-fitted kitchen with all modern conveniences, plus a separate utility, and a large comfortable lounge with TV and wifi.
Located adjacent to the Great Western Greenway extension with easy cycling access to Achill Sound and beyond.

Short drive to all beaches on the island!

Wonderful stay

We loved staying at this house, it had everything we needed and we were less than 20 minutes from everything on the entire island. Will definitely come here again

Perfect getaway

House was perfect for both adults and children, very comfortable beds and very clean on arrival. Beautiful views both day and night.we were lucky to have great weather too. A perfect base to explore achill.

Saula Bay House

Our family had a wonderful time in Saula Bay House. Quite neighbourhood and accessible to shop and beaches. Amazing location for walking with great views. Peter and Martina was easy to deal with and very helpful.

Great spacious family home

Home decor was lovely , lovely linen, lots of space . Felt very comfortable staying there. Location superb - short car drive from everywhere. Few minor issues which have been feed back to owner - grubby laundry and main bathroom - ensuite was lovely , bins full.

Host's mail ID and phone number provided on the booking page were invalid and we couldn't contact the host beforehand reaching the property. No details about check-in were shared and we ended up waiting outside the property until a caretaker showed up with the keys to the property. House was in decent condition. Faced few issues like the tumble dryer not working, broken bed frames etc. Shower tap got stuck few times but worked ok. House have a decent enough parking space with a good location to major attractions.

Here for the Achill Half Marathon

The home was nice, a little rough around the edges. Location was so-so. Property manager had a car break down so unable to meet with us to review the property, we did fine on our own though. The house was clean, beds comfortable.

No eircode so had to stop at house to get directions. When we pulled up no gardens all wild but house inside was fab everything was spotless all new furniture,beds and bed linen could not fault the house once we got there very near achill sound and lovely drives all around

Very enjoyable once we were able to get access to the property. We were told to contact Karen but no phone number left asking local neighbours did they now any phone numbers and one neighbour new the cleaner and she gave us the code to access the property. For the 4 days we were there nobody contacted us or check if we were even there So check in procedure very poor when you’ve been travelling 13hours

Big property, good location - cleaning to be improved

Location and property size was great. However the cleanliness of the house was not under minimum standards. Kitchen accessories, appliances, etc. Then the floor, dust in the rooms. And also outside, big space for the kids to explore, but we had to explore first because there were litter outside. We talked with the owner and she was not fully aware of the condition of the house and ensure to take care of it for next visits. (Also the heater will be checked as it was doing strange sounds). The overall score drops mainly for the cleaning and kitchen usage.

bitter and sweet

I believe that the landlord must put himself in the tourist's shoes and that s/he should make them feel like home. Tourists arrive tired on holiday, and the onliy thing they wants to do, after arriving in a welcoming and clean house, having unpacked their bags and tidied up, is to relax. Unfortunately, i did not find all this in this house. The hosts were on Holiday and gave us a telephone number to contact. This person was also away and after we needed him, he gave us a new contact number. 1: the house is not where it shows on the Google map,in the GPS coordinates. That point is on Mount MWEELIN. If you really want to know the exact point where you are renting and reach the house without getting lost for 3 hours, you have to look for the house in Salia. 2: the house has been vacant for 6 months the walls were cold & damp, found pillow with signs of mold. 3. The house was very dirty. We had to thoroughly clean ourselves. With umand dirt (fake nails on the floor, hair,..) there was that of the building cement dust was still there and could smell it. The kitchen was dirty too. 4.WC and shower in the bathroom were broken. The washer and dryer had not been cleanded, there were monsters in the filters. 5:We could onl obtain Wifi access after two days. Thank you Eileen fo providing this. We are heartbroken because that house is beautiful but it wasn't ready to be rented. What seems to matter to the landlord is just getting rental money and that's really sad.

Urlaub auf Achill Island

Der Urlaub auf der Insel war traumhaft, angenehm milde Temperaturen genau richtig für Unternehmungen und zum Wandern. Die Unterkunft war mit Navi gut zu finden. Der Kontakt zu den Eigentümern für eine genaue Adresse, naja lies aber auf sich warten. Der erste Eindruck des Hauses war ordentlich. Wir hatten viel Platz. Es gab viele helle Räume zum Verweilen. Aber: gleich am ersten Tag funktionierte weder Heizung noch Trockner. Am selben Abend kam ein plumber um sich die Heizung anzusehen. In den darauffolgenden Tagen bemerkten wir immer mehr Mängel im Haus: die Toiletten waren nicht abschließbar. Einige Fenster ließen sich nicht öffnen, andere wiederum konnte man gar nicht schließen, da kein Griff vorhanden war und so das Haus schlechten Gewissens immer offenstand. Einen Besen haben wir nicht gefunden, lediglich einen Staubsauger, der schon die besten Tage hinter sich hatte. Das Geschirr war nicht wirklich sauber. ALLE Tassen hatten eklige Kaffeeränder! Der "Garten" ist Ödland. Hochgewachsenes Gestrüpp, zwischen dem sich viel Müll verheddert hatte. Auch große Regentonnen lagen wild herum. Am letzten Tag bekamen wir alle noch eine Überraschung beim Abziehen der Betten. Die Hälfte aller unserer Kopfkissen waren verschimmelt. Das war sooooo eklig! Dementsprechend gabs auch eine Grußkarte von uns. Sowas darf nicht passieren!!!! Bei so viel Miete müssen Bettzeug, Handtücher, Matratzen, Geschirr und sonstiges doch viel häufiger erneuert werden!!!!

No hot water or heating

While the property was well situated, spacious, well equipped, for the most part newly refurbished and well laid out our biggest disappointment was no hot water for kitchen taps or shower/bath is the main bathroom. 1 electric shower in en suite room to serve all the guests. When I brought this to the attention of the property manager (on the 1st evening of our stay) I was told a "delivery of oil" would be arranged. It did not happen in the duration of our visit. No oil also meant no central heating and no fire in the sitting room. There was no means of heating the house during a week that was very wet and windy and temperatures dropped considerably. This is such a shame. I would have scored the property much more generously if we had not encountered these issues.

Overall, a good experience. Some negatives. Front door lock difficult to open. Fridge quite small for a 4 bed house. trash and broken glass in back yard. Mold in coffee maker. Not enough sheet bedding. Needed to buy dishwasher tablets and paper towels.

Worth it

House was clean and comfortable and in a good location in Achill. No faults at all with house but our group struggled a bit with just two showers/baths as only the en suite was electric and second one was tempermental. Normally there is tea/coffee etc as welcome hospitality but nothing on arrival (not even toilet roll!). Outside could do with a little tidy up. Don't let these comments put anyone off as we would definitely go back and stay again, it's just constructive comments.

Achill Stay

House nice and clean. Freezer in kitchen was not working and needs to be sorted out. There was a room called the sun room which had a patio door which was locked. It would have been nice to be able to open that door and sit outside. There was a bit of rubbish strewn about which made the area look grubby. That would need to be kept cleaner. It was really easy to deal with the manager, he was very helpful.

Great location

The house was perfect, lots of space as advertised. Very clean and lots of delph, cookware, spare bed linen. Only down side only one shower for 8 people and no lids on outside bins so the birds pulled stuff out. Apart from that it was excellent and caretaker was very helpful

Brilliant property, good location

Lovely house, great hosts came down and found us on the island when we arrived, you will need a car staying at this property but a car is essential anywhere on the island as the attractions are quite far away from each other, the only thing I could fault the property on was there was no blackout blinds in the bedrooms but would definitely stay here again
