The Yellow Desert Rose Getaway!

Welcome to Vista, California! The climate is considered to be temperate all year round.

This beautiful guest home is located in an established neighborhood of Vista and centrally located to a variety of attractions, such as Legoland, Seaworld, Disneyland, Wild-Animal Park, San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and more! Easy access to freeways (Hwy 78, 5, 15), shopping (Frazier Farms, Albertsons, Sprouts, Starbucks), dining and entertainment, and about 10 miles to the closest beaches in Carlsbad or Oceanside. Public transportation is also readily available via the Sprinter (North County Light Rail) and the Coaster/Amtrak train.

This guest house is approximately 600 square feet on private property in close proximity to the main house, which the owners (a married couple) live in. The guest home comfortably sleeps up to two people. It has a separate bedroom with a queen size bed, a bathroom with a full size shower but no tub, a functional kitchen with a gas range/oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, wi-fi internet, Roku, and indoor laundry facilities. It includes a private patio with two chairs. There is adequate parking for a maximum of 2 cars to park in the driveway directly in front of the guest house.

Wonderful Place!

This place was perfect. Great appliances, no clutter, quality linens & towels, fabulous private outdoor space and lots more. In a word, “thoughtful.” Chad & Rose were responsive and kind.

Clean, quiet, and conformable

This rental was perfect for our stay in Vista! Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood it was very quiet, but only a 5-15 minute drive to most activities. Everything about the rental was clean and well appointed. Highly recommended for couples or if traveling alone.

Family Birthday Celebration

We had a wonderful stay at the Yellow Desert Rose Getaway. Chad and Rose were very friendly and attentive hosts. The guest house was very clean, attractive and comfortable. We felt very at home there. The kitchen had updated appliances and was very well stocked. We had all we needed. We really enjoyed having the patio because we like to sit out and have our coffee in the morning (and we liked hearing the birds). The grill did a nice job on the prime steaks we cooked. It was nice to have access to secure Wi-Fi and we really enjoyed the variety of stations we could get on the TV. It was perfect for our needs since we were travelling north to San Clemente and south to San Diego. The house is located in a quiet and lovely neighborhood. We highly recommend this rental property and, with the expectation of more such trips on our part in the future, we hope to stay here again.

Beautiful!

Our son and daughter-in-law stayed at the VRBO. They loved it. I personally saw it and it was adorable. Updated home and very clean. They said the same and how it was stocked with everything you needed in the kitchen to make an amazing meal. Rose was very attentive and available with any questions we had at any time. :) Thanks!!

Great location, great amenities, very comfortable.

Enjoyed our stay so much. The lovely quiet neighborhood location was terrific for our needs, and the property was clean and just as described and perfect for the two of us. Comfy bed, washer and dryer, and coffee maker great for our coffee each morning. Thanks again for a great visit and we certainly hope to visit again.

Safe, relaxing and as pictured

Cozy and comfortable

Our stay at the Yellow Desert Rose was incredible from start to finish. Our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and to take care of whatever we might night. The location is perfect and the neighborhood is sweet. Everything about this VRBO made it an 11 out of 10!

nice stay in Vista

Wife and I stayed 10 days in Vista to spend time over Christmas with daughter, son-in-law and baby granddaughter. Wife and I stayed in Vista, which is about 15 minutes from our family. The place we stayed at was very nice - clean, updated, comfortable and quiet. We want to thank our hosts and we will definitely consider coming back to the same home!

All Boxes Checked!

I stayed at this wonderful property for 13 nights in September 2021. The location was great! The weather was awesome!! But best of all, the property was immaculate, stocked with things that I didn’t know I needed (until I needed them), wonderful decor, oh and the bed was sooo comfy, I could go on and on but the icing on the cake was Rose and Chad even had the television prepped for all of the apps that I like to watch. I stayed there alone so I really appreciated being able to catch up on my shows. The WiFi was also great, as I worked while I was there with no interruptions. Check, check, check, check, check!!! :) If you’re looking for a great place with awesome hosts, look no further! Thank you Rose and Chad!!!!

Great stay

We lived in this charming apt. for 6 months while our new house was completed and we enjoyed it thoroughly. The cottage is very well maintained and the landlords friendly and accommoding. We would recommend this well-appointed get-a-way spot without reservation.

Fantastic property

Love this place! It is close to my daughter, private, even a small fenced patio to enjoy sitting out in the evening. The place is immaculately clean, and has all the amenities. It is in an upscale neighborhood and I really enjoy being able to take a stroll and feel safe. The bed, like none other. We have reached out to Chad and Rose, the hosts, to see if we can't buy the same matress for our house. The best bed ever, and I have traveled extensively, lots of 5 star hotels, nothing beats this! We will be back, great place, great value.

My best experience ever! Amazing!

It honestly is hard to make sure I hit all the high points, there are just so many great things I want to mention. Let's start with clean. I think I am a very picky housekeeper, so much so I never expect to be wowed by the cleanliness of a rental. Well, now the bar has been set, the place was immaculate. Location, again, I couldn't have asked for more. Private entrance, you park feet from the door, easy. Loved the neighborhood, the gentle hills of Vista, yards and homes well kept, pride of ownership was evident throughout the neighborhood. Safe, clean, beautiful. My husband and I took a long walk every morning before heading out to be with our daughter and granddaughters. Furnishings, impressive. I love to cook, while I knew this Christmas visit would not be the time for me to cook, other times would. I could cook anything in that well appointed kitchen. I should have such a nice range at home! The dishwasher was a new Bosch, so quiet, run it anytime! Refrigerator was a new Whirlpool, again looked like it had never been used it was so clean. Linens, the bed, wow. Both my husband and I wear sports watches, and we had all time high scores for sleep, when does that happen on a trip? The mattress was fantastic, we took a picture of the brand, and are planning on buying one. Sheets, towels, all top quality. We have been searching for a place to come when visiting our daughter and family. We have tried more than a few by owner rentals and hotels, none really wanted to repeat. Now we have found "our" place. Selfishly, I might want to keep this a secret, but, I can't do that to my fellow travelers nor these fantastic owners. Happy travels to all, and this place is a traveler's dream come true!!!

Just about everything you need and well appointed

Very updated with many amenities. The unit is an extension of a primary residence and in a neighborhood where homes are very close together yet, I never heard anyone. It was very private and I felt safe. I would recommend this for someone staying in the area for sure...

Beautiful and simple retreat

We stayed here while visiting our son who is a Marine and deploying soon. It was a peaceful nights rest when our hearts needed it and super clean and designed simply. We would highly recommend this get away.

Very clean, tidy, cozy.

Great place to stay for some solitude, privacy, and quiet time. Also very easy freeway access for daytime excursions further south. I would recommend to friends and family in the future.

Wonderful home away from home!

This property was absolutely perfect for my daughter and I. We were in town for a soccer tournament, and we absolutely loved staying here. The unit was really done well, with everything we needed. The decor and furnishings really create a relaxing, comfy, and cozy vibe. I loved the back patio to enjoy my morning coffee! I have stayed in many VRBO's, and this is one of my favorites! I am looking forward to our next stay here as it looks like we'll be back for soccer several times a year ;-) Thank you Chad and Rose for your attention to detail, and creating a really amazing home away from home!

Beautiful property!!

This is a wonderfully quiet and relaxing guest house...newly remodeled with an eye for good quality workmanship and furnishings...and absolutely darling!! We couldn't have been happier with one exception...it's doesn't as yet have air conditioning...we solved that by renting one at a nearby business...sounds like they may install air conditioning! The appliances are shiny bright and clean, as was the entire property. Everything functioned beautifully! The living room was very comfortable for two! Lots of gorgeous towels, wash clothes, hand towels...The king sized bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in...complete with feather pillows and lovely soft linens! We used the washer and dryer and were pleasantly surprised at how well they worked! We did take out at a Mexican restaurant listed and enjoyed it!! This is a keeper! I would certainly recommend this property to friends and relatives. I would stay here again at the drop of a hat!! Thanks for a great week!!!

Lovely property with gracious hosts.

My daughter and I stayed at the Yellow Desert Rose and used it as our home base while exploring San Diego. As everyone else has stated the "attached addition" is lovely. Rose is an interior decorator and this beautifully appointed home clearly shows off her talent. The only complaint I have is that it was not air-conditioned. Being from Florida, where you cannot live without air, I wrongly assumed that all properties come with AC and did not look for that specifically in the writeup of the property.. My daughter and I managed by sleeping with the sliding glass door open and the fan running. California is a much dryer climate and perhaps many residents choose not to have AC. Other than that, we had a lovely stay. Rose and Chad went above and beyond by sharing specific places we could view fireworks for the 4th of July and extending our checkout time on our last day so I could get our car serviced. This was our first VRBO experience and I am thankful it was with such a friendly couple.

Excellent and accommodating!

Our stay at the yellow Desert Rose cottage could not have been better! The quality and craftsmanship of the cottage is outstanding and very well laid out. The cottage is private, quiet, comfy and cozy. Being centrally located made it easy to get out and about. Especially enjoyed walking to breakfast at the curbside Café. Rose and Chad were welcoming and accommodating hosts. We were here to attend a family gathering to celebrate mom's 90th birthday. All was outstandingly wonderful and the yellow Desert Rose cottage added to it! Highly recommend staying here! We will be back!

We are a husband and wife who have owned several homes over the years in the San Francisco Bay Area and raised 3 beautiful children in them. We moved to North San Diego County in late 2010 and continue to enjoy all that sunny California has to offer.

Now that our children are grown and moving on to adult pursuits, and we have moved way from their native San Francisco Bay Area, we wanted to make sure there will always be a place where we can still get together. So the Yellow Desert Rose was born - we can have the room for our friends and family to visit, and we can earn the operating dollars by inviting guests to enjoy the cottage.
