This large studio space is on the bayou and offers plenty of options for your vacation or weekend get away, that is close to New Orleans. Build a campfire or get on your boat and take a sunset cruise. Located in a family-friendly neighborhood that is a short drive or paddle, and far walk from heritage city park (where there are seasonal live concerts and fire work shows). If you have a boat, feel free to bring her with you. There are slips you can use for the weekend or rent long term. We have room to park your trailer or outdoor space for games. Bring your family or significant other and enjoy your time at the Lighthouse.

Wonderful little place for the two of us to spend thanksgiving with family. Paulo was very accommodating with any issues we had and was always very quick to answer us for any needs. Highly recommend this for the perfect little getaway.

Long weekend stay

Stayed here with my adult son for a long weekend to celebrate his fiancĆ©ā€™s bridal shower. Very clean, perfect set up. He fished some & we enjoyed the frogs at night & the train going nearby. Loved it all! Perfect

The best stay ever!

I have been to Slidell a million times and stayed at families houses and then hotels as I got older. This was the first time staying in a VRBO and it was the best trip ever! The view was amazing. We got there at night and I was so excited when I opened the curtains in the morning and saw the beautiful yard and water. My boys had so much fun fishing and hanging out outside and the space was so clean. We will definitely stay here again!

Great Little Get Away

The property was great, all the basic neccessities, plus canoes and fishing poles. All right on the bayou, away from the city hustle.Worth noting for anyone interested, the listing mentions a club house pool that you have access too. This is not accurate and according to the host has been closed for a couple years.

Felt like home

My family stayed here with my small dog for a few days over Thanksgiving. The place was beautiful, right on the water, clean, and cozy. The host was so friendly and responded promptly. We had complete privacy and felt very safe in the neighborhood. This is about a 30 minute drive from New Orleans and worked great for us because we felt safe. We loved our stay so much that we plan to stay here again soon and maybe even move to the area. 10/10!

Perfect little lighthouse

My niece and I traveled down for the Taylor Swift concert. We couldnā€™t have asked for a better location. Not too far from the venue, but still safe and quiet. Paulo was very quick to respond to all of my messages. We didnā€™t really have enough time to just hang out around the space, but Iā€™d love to come back and just sit by the water.

A very relaxing and quiet place

The Guesthouse was wonderful and located in a very quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed the privacy of the backyard with the fire pit and deck, canoe and fishing poles. It was nice to stay outside of the New Orleans area but close enough to drive back and forth whenever we wanted. We enjoyed many of our meals at the Guesthouse and appreciated having a kitchen to cook. Beds were very comfortable and we had lots of pillows and blankets. It was very clean and the owners checked in on us a few times to be sure we didn't need anything. Our refundable security deposit was returned promptly. We would definitely stay at the Guesthouse again and highly recommend this property.

The lighthouse has changed my view on fishing

First, let me start by saying how amazing the lighthouse is. The way it is situated makes it very private and our dog ran around freely and the yard is so big she did not even try to leave. Secondly, I have never been an avid fisher, or fisher at all but we had so much fun and caught so many fish that on our last day while my husband was at work I was googling how to tie fishing knots! We loved this place!!

LOVED IT!!!

I came here with my family and we all loved this place! Itā€™s in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood and the host was so nice and was incredibly timely with responding when I had questions about the rental. The location is perfect and there was everything we needed! Thereā€™s also paddle boards/canoes you can use which I loved but be careful if you use them because there are some alligators!! I brought my dog as well and I am so glad I chose this place instead of a house in the city. This place was perfect for him! I hope to stay here again in the future!! :)

Beautiful setting, peaceful neighborhood. Unfortunately, there was no schedule left for trash/recycling pickup; the AC unit has an auto shut off feature that caused the house to be hot everytime we returned from being out all day.

Cozy cottage

This was the perfect place to stay for our small group. Itā€™s small but cozy. The outside made it totally worthwhile. The views. The wrap around porch. Even in the rain I had my coffee out there every morning. Just beautiful.

Magical Lighthouse

I want to say first my husband is from New Orleans and we have been visiting for years. We usually stay with family or hotels. This year we decided we needed a real vacation and see family too. The Lighthouse was a perfect home away from home. We have done the swamp tours, plantations, Mardi Gras, WW II museums and shopping. This time was for water, eating and visiting family. The Lighthouse was perfect. Our little chihuahua loved chasing a lizard around the deck. Everything we needed was inside and outside. My husband threw the crab net out and caught turtles. He fished and caught a gar fish and fed the turtles. He grew up on the bayous but they weren't as beautiful as Bayou Chamele. We visited with family in Slidell and some came to visit with us. They loved our place. The owner was available for any questions we had and promptly took care of everything. We definately look forward to returning to our Magical lighthouse. Thanks Polo for allowing us to visit in your special place.

Well needed getaway

Property was beautiful very peaceful.. Love the fact we got to go fishing.. Everything was provided or was in driving distance.. Inside could have been a little better.. One of the blinds was broken or could not close for privacy and I could not get the internet password to work Other then that.. It was a GREAT stay .. I would come back again.

Amazing!!!!

We had a great time at the Lighthouse! The location of the house is very private, and we love privacy and security! The house is very cozy and the space worked well for me my husband and our little Yorkie! The backyard is beautiful, it exceeded our expectations! We did lots of fishing, everyday! There are alligators around the property, we saw couple of them in the water so I had to keep my eyes open for our dog! We loved everything about our stay, but I only gave 4 stars not 5 just because thereā€™s multiple trains that goes by early in the morning, during the day and also at night and they are loud! We will definitely stay at this place again (despite the trains...lol ) because of the location and the backyard! If you donā€™t mind the trains, this is the place for you!!! The owner is amazing, helpful and kind!
