The extensive gardens gently slope down towards a river which borders the property. Visitors have close access to developed paths for walks, cycling and many adventures!

After a busy day, relax on the patio, sip a glass of wine and take in the beauty and unwind from the hectic life that we all seem to lead. For the less energetic, try the comfy sunloungers and light up the bbq for a long leisurely lunch.

There is plenty to occupy the children. We have a games room with bar football, pool, table tennis, snooker, a darts board and many other games, this allows the grown ups some much needed peace and quiet.

Early or late in the season the cosy, comfortable lounge is the perfect place to be, with a roaring log fire, satellite tv or just listen to some music, the choice is yours, it is your holiday!

Here you will find many restaurants and bars in Carhaix and again for the children, there is an amazing swimming pool with a flume and jacuzzi. There are 5 adult bicycles available at the property for guests to use.

Wonderful stay in clean and nice house

The house was in a nice environment and had all facilities we needed, all clean and in good condition. Excellent beds, nice bathroom, clean toilets and a great kitchen with all required equipment. The host, whom we did not meet in person, always promptly and kindly responded to our Email, making our stay go smoothly.

Our stay

It had lots of room and very private. Beds were comfortable. It was a little musty when arriving but after opening windows it was better. The kitchen was well stocked but we would have needed a coffee maker. Pulling out of the driveway was tricky as the hedges block the view.

Great base for western Brittany.

We spent a wonderful week at the house near Carhaix and were very comfortable. The house has all the conveniences of home for a relaxed stay. The location is a great base because of the closeness to the highway East and West. We were able to get to beaches near Douarnenez in and hour and the same with Quimper. The megalithic sites of Carnac, Locmariaquer and near Lannion were also a good day out. We would also recommend La Vallee des Saintes. Although some of the guides made it would a bit strange or baffling it really was impressive, beautiful and worth the visit. Thanks Liz for a great home for our stay.

Rural Brittany

This is a large and comfortable detached house, set in a large plot of land, mainly laid out to grass. It is in a rural part of Brittany and is roughly equidistant from the north, south and west coasts, all of which are within reasonable travelling distance. We felt very comfortable there, and enjoyed just relaxing at the property, and also car trips to the many places of interest in that part of Brittany. For those who enjoy walking and more active pursuits there are plenty of opportunities, and there are bikes at the property which the owners allow guests staying there to use. Being of more mature years we did not avail ourselves of this, but it added to the homely atmosphere. We had occasion to communicate with the owners during the long period of the Covid disruptions and were grateful for their very friendly help and guidance.

A fine home

This is a fine home that is large, comfortable and well equipped. There are three good sized bedrooms and an excellent upstairs bathroom, with a large bath. The rooms are well furnished. The ground floor has a toliet, dining room, well speced kitchen and long living room. The latter has space for two groups, reading or watching TV. Downstairs is a utility room with sink, washer, drier, and an additional fridge and freezer. The games room has darts, fuzzball, mini tabble tennis and a lot more activities. The garage has for adult bikes and a top of the range Weber. There a few excellent lunch set restaurants a short bike ride away and Carhaix is only five minutes by car. It is an excellent location for exploring with lots of activities (canal kayaking was excellent), locations (a wonedrful lake and many, many beaches) as well as historical towns to visit within a 60(ish) minute car ride. There was an issue with internet, and the house is in a data and signal black spot, but the owner did all they could to resolve this.

Beautiful large cottage in the woods. Decor is excellent, bed and linen are perfect. Host provided bikes were excellent for riding along the Brest/Nantes canal. Ideally located between the pink granite coast and the Atlantic to the south.

Parfait pour apprendre à connaître la région.

Nous avons loué pour visiter Carhaix en vue d'une future installation. C'était donc la situation idéale pour bien rayonner. Et aussi la maison idéale pour se reposer en pleine nature. Nos hôtes étaient pleins d'attentions et charmants. Je recommande à 100 %.

Traditionelles Haus mit großem Grundstück in der Bretagne

Ein schönes Haus, mit gut ausgestatteter Küche und großem Bad. Das schöne Grundstück war leider ungepflegt, die Bettwäsche teilweise nicht richtig sauber und der Abfluss der Dusche verstopft und schmutzig. Die alten Gartenstühle waren aus Plastik und teilweise kaputt. Die Umgebung war aber wunderbar geeignet um Ausflüge zumachen.

Pulizia pessima, tutta la cucina sporca, frigo indecente, marmellata aperta lasciata fuori frigo. Non c'era una pentola per cucinare per 6 persone, l'abbiamo richiesta e ci hanno detto di fare con quello che c'era. La stanza dei giochi era in un sottoscala buio vicono a pattumi e legnaia, mai varcata la soglia. In generale ambiente pieno di umidità. Molto scontenti

Lieu agréable, central pour visiter la Bretagne du nord au sud

Nous avons apprécié le séjour, le temps était propice, nous avons mangé matin et soir dehors. Nous avons regretté que l'information 3 salles de bain étaient erronée, d'autant plus qu'il n'y avait pas de lumière dans les WC du garage et que la chasse d'eau des WC de la salle de bain n'était pas suffisamment puissante. Nous aurions aimé avoir un change de serviettes de toilette et que l'odeur des serviettes de toilette soient plus agréables. Sinon nous avons parfaitement dormi, les lits sont confortables, la vaisselle est agréable, l'équipement de la cuisine est très bien Il y a une ligne de chemin de fer devant la maison , mais ce n'est pas gênant peu de passages de TER et pas la nuit

Maison propre avec tout le confort nécessaire. Chambres spacieuses. Literies parfaites. Proche chemins de randonnées. Supermarché à proximité. Visites vallée des Saints à 15min. Quimper, Benodet, Concarneau à moins d'1h30 Agence disponible par messagerie Abritel très facilement. Réponse rapide si problème. Great location

The property had everything we needed for a lovely stay. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of space for everyone. Unfortunately we were not able to make use of the games room as the smell from the damp in the basement was just too overpowering. Carhaix is just a 5min drive and has all the supermarkets and a nice market on Saturday morning. We found plenty to do within an hour's drive and there's lots more places we'd like to have visited but ran out of time. We were a little disappointed to find the garden wasn't quite as tended to as it is in the pictures meaning we couldn't get down to the river due to brambles but the gardener did come and mow the lawns on our first day which meant we could make use of the lawns for badminton. Although it would have made a better impression if this had been done before we arrived as it was a big job taking most of the day and meant we had to change our plans of a lazy day in the garden to recover from our trip down. Good communication from Liz meant we had no problems checking in.

Sehr schönes Haus - toll ausgestattet

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus war sauber und gut ausgestattet. Im Keller befand sich ein toller Spielraum mit Kicker und Dartscheibe. Die Terrasse ist toll und alles war spitze. Da wir viel unternommen haben, konnten wir gar nicht alle tollen Dinge nutzen.

Klasse Haus für Bretagne-Entdecker

Es lief alles sehr unkompliziert. Schönes Haus, alles sehr sauber. Die zentrale Lage in der Bretagne erlaubt es, schöne Orte und Sehenswürdigkeiten in einer Zeit von 1 - 2 Autostunden zu erreichen. Angeln am Fluss vom Hausgrundstück aus war nicht möglich. Es gab keinen geeigneten Zugang zum Wasser. Mobilfunkempfang war problematisch, kein Internetanschluss. Fazit: klare Empfehlung für alle, die mit Fahrzeugen mobil sind und auf einen Internetanschluss verzichten können oder wollen.

Dave has been traveling to Brittany over a number of years, he works in the building industry and has done a number of improvements to the house.
Liz studied hospitality management and has had a long career in the sector.
