Located on the hills that divide the Casentino valley from Chianti, the Villa is ideally positioned for those wishing to visit cities such as Florence, Arezzo or Siena. It is also the perfect base to experience and explore the Tuscan countryside. Now restored to perfection, the villa was a traditional 19th century Tuscan farmhouse, completely surrounded by a fenced and beautiful park. The building offers a lot of space to guests and their children to enjoy themselves and relax in peace and tranquillity. The heated pool offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, it can be used for a romantic after dinner swim or an out of season dip. From spring 2017 the pool area in completely fenced for the safety of the kids. The wellness area, created inside of a bright and panoramic structure, awaits for you to give you moments of relax after a day full of emotions. The wellness zone is equipped with a lounge area, Jacuzzi tubs, emotional shower, Hamam and fitness area Technogym. In the private wine cellar there is a selection of Tuscan wines available for guest.

We were 8 adults and 2 children. The villa was impressive and the pool was perfect in 34 degree temperatures. Each room had an en-suite and they were immaculate. The grounds were beautiful.

An amazing house in an amazing location if you are looking for peace and quiet and the perfect family property. Andrea was very helpful and communication was easy. The meal that we had cooked for us by Francesca was delicious. I would highly recommend Villa Carda.

Fantastic holiday and dinners at Villa Carda

We enjoyed every minute of our stay! The house is beautiful, as well as the garden and the swimming pool. Andrea and Francesca are excellent hosts and amazing cooks. We have had the best dinners, no restaurants needed! We really recommend staying at Villa Carda for a fantastic holiday!

The owner clearly takes great pride in the house and providing his guests with a wonderful experience. The beauty of the grounds surrounding the house cannot be overstated. The house has everything you need to make it your home- comfortable living room and outdoor seating, a well stocked kitchen, and a sun porch that will forever be one of my favorite places to enjoy a stunning view, friends, family, and a good meal. I consider myself lucky to stay there.

Its so hard to condense how amazing this place is into a short paragraph. We were booked to stay here July 4th to July 11th but due to flight delays we ended up getting there July 5th. The host was available and flexible about our change of plans and kept in regular contact. Our group was a party of 11 people and there was ample space for us to gather together in the evenings as well as have our alone time without disturbing each other. The house is decorated in a beautiful traditional Tuscan style but with a very modern kitchen, pool area and wellness centre. The grounds are spectacular, well maintained, private and safe to let the children play without the need for constant supervision. The trees, plants and flowers set the scene for a beautiful, family oriented, trip of a lifetime. The rooms are spacious with plenty of storage available and every room has an en suite of some nature. The house was spotlessly clean. We booked Francesca for a chef-made meal for one of our nights which was a luxurious treat for everyone. We were very impressed! We also booked Francesca’s pasta making class which was great fun and a memory for the whole family to last a lifetime (even though i was not naturally skilled in making pasta!). The pool is about 120cm at its deepest so our 7 and 8 year olds could comfortably stand up in the pool with head and shoulders out of the water. The pool was very clean and there was plenty of furniture to sit or lie in the sun or the shade.

Villa Carda was an amazing experience... We will very happily return one day soon. The host, Andrea, was attentive in every way possible; his ability to communicate is brilliant. Our week at the villa was exceptional... the heated pool, hot tub, steam room and outdoor games, table tennis, indoor facilities and well-furnished kitchen... I can't begin to say how much we enjoyed all the amenities that were provided. The views of the valley and mountains, the sunrises and sunsets, the amazing number of birdsongs - it was all spectacular! We thoroughly appreciated the proximity to the towns not far away and the opportunities to experience different cultures, friendliness from everyone we met, wonderful restaurants and cafés, and interesting sites.A highlight were the two dinners prepared by Andrea's wife, Francesca, finding them delicious and fun in every possible way. This experience of eating excellent meals at the villa, surrounded by beautiful views, will always be a favorite memory. We cannot speak highly enough of these events. We are very excited at the prospect of returning.Many thanks to Andrea and Francesca for a perfect week!

There were 11 of us staying at Andrea's villa – and it was just perfect!The house offers an incredible amount of space, complete privacy, a fantastic view, and beautiful surroundings. The hot tub and pool were a highlight and were used a lot by everyone. The house was excellently equipped and we longed for nothing. Andrea's warm hospitality is also particularly noteworthy: he was always available, gave us great restaurant recommendations, and even reserved tables for us. The cute resident cat Luna stole our hearts and quickly became part of our holiday experience.All in all, it was an unforgettable stay that we can wholeheartedly recommend. Many thanks to Andrea—we would love to come back!

A little piece of heaven!

My family of 12 stayed here for two weeks. We were supposed to come in May 2020, but the trip was cancelled due to covid. So we were ecstatic to finally be able to make the trip work in 2023. The property is stunning and the house is amazing with so many amenities to enjoy. Everyone (kids, spouses) had their own bedroom to enjoy along with private bath. We never felt crowded or on top of each other. We loved the separate spa/exercise room, the pool, and the wine cellar! Andrea was a great host and very responsive to all our questions and needs. He and his wife even cooked a fabulous Italian meal for us at the home to celebrate my niece's 16th birthday. The location was great and we were able to visit many wonderful towns and cities, as well as enjoy many relaxing days at the villa. Andrea, thank you for sharing your family home with us and your little piece of heaven in ITALY, it will be a trip we never forget!

2 weeks in Paradise

We were a group of 12 family members in an age range from 1 to 71… We were all in heaven for the 14 days of our stay. The villa is simply magnificent and the pictures posted don’t do justice to the reality of the place. We were all able to have private moments or be all together without feeling that there was a lack of privacy… We all enjoyed immensely this villa. My older grandsons could play soccer in the park as much as they wanted while the 3 year old could try to play with the ball. As for the 1 year old, she was able to see her brother and cousins playing together in a safe way ! Andrea was an extremely attentive host always able to answer all our questions and arrange for reservations for dinner at a restaurant or to visit local winery. He was always very discreet and would come on a daily basis to make sure that everything was going well. He was never intrusive and always respectful of us. If you rent this villa, make sure to reserve in advance for the wonderful meals that are catered by Andrea and his lovely wife, Francesca. We had them for 3 nights and we enjoyed 3 very different menus…they were all so extremely good and well prepared. When they leave, the kitchen is immaculate ! The villa is extremely clean and lovingly tended…you can feel that a lot of love went into its changes over the years. All the beds are extremely confortable and the linens and towels are very high quality as well ! If you need anything, you can always ask Andrea. I wish to be back!

Tuscany Dream Vacation

Tuscany has been on our bucket list for a long time. Similar to a previous review, we had planned to visit Tuscany in May of 2020 and this was our make up trip. It was worth the wait. The property was ideal. We stayed three weeks and had family and friends visiting over different periods. Andrea is a great host. We enjoyed the property immensely. Our three grandkids played and frolicked in the yard. We had massive hide and seek games. The property is so immense that my granddaughter remarked,” I have never seen so much earth”. We also enjoyed the pool and spa. Andrea’s wife, Francesca, provided two pasta making and dinner classes for different guests. The tiramisu and molten chocolate cakes were a huge hit. Her ragu sauce was delicious and she made a vegetable and tomato sauce for our friends that are pescatarians. Everyone had a great time making fresh pasta. Francesca is an outstanding and credentialed chef. We also did pizza making in the pizza oven. 9 of us almost devoured 14 pizzas. They were outstanding. We visited Florence and Lucca by train through Arezzo. By car we visited Cortona, Gubbio, Poppi, the monestary at La Verna, San Gimignano, Siena, and Lake Trasimeno. There are several very good restaurants in Rassina, about 8 minutees away by car and a wonderful local restaurant in Castel Focognano called Nonna Giuditta. It was only open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.We walked there and back from the villa. it is about 2 kilometers. Andrea is a great host.

• Villa Carda é especial. Não só por suas lindas e excelente acomodações mas pelo calor humano que nela existe. A família Franceschini oferece ao hospede um local onde nos sentimos parte da família. O acolhimento é tão caloroso que nos sentimos como em nossas casas. Como está escrito: La famiglia accoglie i propri ospiti com reffinatezza, disponibilià ed amicizia. • A beleza arquitetônica de Villa Carda, seus campos verdes – mesmo quando recepcionista do inverno gelado – nos faz sentir como nativos. Cada pedaço da propriedade nos oferece um detalhe e vai ser difícil esquecer tudo que passou por aqui aliás, nem queremos que o esquecimento venha pois queremos manter vivo em nossa memória e em nosso coração, todos os momentos vividos, disfrutados e amados em Villa Carda. • Saudade será o sentimento que mais aflorará quando amanhã deixarmos este paraíso toscano. Talvez as lágrimas virão aos nossos olhos mas serão lágrimas de felicidade, de alegria e de amor pois aprendemos a amar este pedaço bonito e especial do mundo. E o gostinho do queremos voltar vai permanecer conosco.

Wunderbares, weitläufiges Anwesen, fernab von Trubel. Unglaubliche Ruhe und Stille.Auch wenn man mit einer größeren Gruppe reist, gibt es genug Ecken um sich zurückzuziehen. Durch die Höhenlage folgte den heißen Tagen (meist am oder im Pool verbracht), immer eine kühle Nacht mit spektakulären Sonnen aufgängen. Andrea, der Host, ist sehr hilfsbereit und spricht sehr gut Englisch.

Truly exceptional house. We visited as a group of 10 aged 17-79 in early August, the house was the perfect getaway for a quiet & relaxing holiday. The variety of recreational areas (pool, wellness area, table tennis, terrace, lounge together with private sitting areas in two of the six bedrooms) meant everyone could find the space they needed, as well as places to come together. The views of unbroken Tuscan hillsides are nothing short of spectacular, Andrea is a super friendly & helpful host, and through him we arranged to have a chef visit and cook for us on one evening - the meal was delicious, thank you!

Villa Carda surpassed our expectations in every way! The pictures are beautiful, but it is is hard to capture the full scope of it's beauty and serenity in pictures. We stayed for two weeks in June. We relaxed into our Italian countryside rhythm varying easy lounging days with adventurous days exploring Tuscany as well as Rome and Florence. Andrea was such a gracious and attentive host. Francesca and Elena are absolutely lovely. They cooked for us as well as taught us how to cook pasta- unforgettable and a must do! This was a vacation full of joy, connection, peace, and a much needed respite. We have already booked another stay!

Wir haben diesen wundervollen, idyllischen Ort als Reisegruppe besucht. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt, der Service des Vermieters war exzellent und alles lief reibungslos. Die Küche war optimal für eine größere Reisegruppe ausgestattet. Einen extra Pluspunkt gibt es für den exklusiven Wellnessbereich, der uns einfach aus den Socken gehauen hat.

Tolle Villa mit perfektem Gastgeber

Ein grandioser Ort für Urlaub mit Freunden. Andrea ist ein perfekter Gastgeber. Schaut jeden Tag vorbei wegen Pool und Whirlpool, dabei aber immer im Hintergrund; bei Fragen jedoch sofort zur Stelle. Die Villa steht auf einem riesigen Grundstück und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Gerade auch für Leute die gerne länger aufbleiben sehr gut, da man niemanden stört. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

A slice of heaven

Property and the owners greatly exceeded out expectations. It is up in the hills and way from the small town by about 1 mile, but the property is like being in your own park. Set on about 6 acres with property and the pool on the top of a hill is was an incredibly beautiful setting. For us it was a base camp, as we took side trips to Rome, Venice, Pisa and Florence. But we always came back to peace and quiet, to recharge our batteries. With having 4 different families the sleeping quarters were great. We each had our own sleeping quarters, close but separate. And the indoor/outdoor dining, where we gathered to eat was wonderful. We had 2 evening meals catered by Andrea and his wife Francesca, that were outstanding. It was the celebration of 50 years of marriage and to have our whole family with us, was wonderful. For us, it was the perfect setting and the place was adorable. We have traveled all over the world, but this villa will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Fabulous stay at this lovely property. Recommend Francesca and Andrea's catering-fantastic. Given the situation in 2020 was delight to manage to get away for 2 weeks. Thoroughly recommend this property.

Great property and very helpful host

We spent 1 week at the property in August 2020 with a large family group. The villa, pool and spa areas were in very good state, comfortable, well appointed and clean. The property has ample green space and beautiful views to the surrounding hills. Quiet and peaceful. The host, Andrea, made sure to answer all of our questions before the trip, helped to arrange everything we needed on site and was always there to help with any issues with pool temperature, jacuzzi, etc We also enjoyed a meal cooked by the hosts at the property that was excellent. It is clear they look after the property with care and experience. Overall, can’t recommend this enough. Top choice

Lovely place in the hills of Tuscany

We were travelling as a group of ten young people and the villa was just perfect for four couples and two singles. There was a nice pool area with a beautiful panorma view. Once we booked a privat cooking from Andrea and his wife - the food was very very delicious! This villa and it‘s quiet area is definitely a visit worth!

I live here in Casentino Valley with my wife Francesca (owner of another holiday villa). I spent ten years in Venice where i studied (economy) and i worked in a contemporary art gallery. Four years ago me and Francesca decided together to came back in Tuscany, the place we were born, and our lifes are changed again. Now we are very happy to live in this peacefull valley and i'm proud to give you hospitality in my villa.

My father bought the property in 1978 when it was a little more than a ruin. He restored Villa Carda with a lot of passion and love and, during my childhood, i spent with my family all summers there. It was a magic place for me!
During my university years (the villa was hardly ever occupied) so we decided to do something.
From 2001 Villa Carda is a holiday villa and it gived hospitality to a lot of happy and satisfied guests from all over the world.
Why i love this area? Because i born here, of course, but not only! This area is very characteristic of Tuscany but is also far away from the crowd of other touristic place of the region. Casentino valley preserve the genuine aspect and way of life of Tuscany. And it's also less expensive then the rest of Tuscany.
