Cliff Top Home With Breathtaking Sea Views From Almost Every Room In The House.

This five-star, award winning, unique and stylish home combines elegance, taste and comfort, to provide a home from home. Facing west means the most amazingly romantic and dramatic sunsets like those featured in the Poldark TV adaptation, many scenes of which were filmed at nearby Dollar Cove, minutes from the house. With high speed internet access even in the Summer House, and great attention to detail the emphasis is on making guests feel special. This is truly a comfortable family home. The location of the house and layout of the garden makes it an ideal spot to entertain or host that special occasion.

Please note that as we consider we are no longer in the grip of a Covid pandemic we will continue with our rigorous cleaning protocol but we have restored the full larder of essential cooking ingredients, books and games.

Stunning location

Wonderful hosts, wonderful home with everything you need and more. The views and the peace and quiet are magical. We had an amazing time, in easy reach of our favourite places to visit, st. Ives, Marazion, Coverack Porthleven and the Lizard peninsula.After a horrendous 2024 and wonderful place to heal and re charge.

Wonderful family experience on the Cornish coast

Lovely family home, extremely well-equipped. The host was most accommodating and readily answered any questions and offered suggestions to enhance our visit. And the view! Lovely coastal walks too.

Lovely stay right on the beach

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. You can’t get much closer to the sea and we really enjoyed the sound of the waves and far reaching views. The house is incredibly well equipped and all the beds comfortable etc. It is well located and easy to reach nearby villages. Would definitely recommend!

Great location for a lovely home

An amazing house situated on the beach. We stayed for a week in May and had a lovely week despite the mixed weather. The house is beautiful with a lovely feeling of home. Everything you could wish for to have a relaxing break away from it all.

An amazing place

We had a brilliant two weeks here. The location is amazing, right by the sea above Gunwalloe Beach - fabulous views, but at the same time secluded, with the sound of the sea as a constant soundtrack. The house is beautifully appointed and very comfortable, and the welcome wonderful. And the housekeeper is excellent. We would not hesitate to visit again.

Perfect!

Chydane is a beautiful house in a stunning location, the views are amazing, especially with the sunsets! It's a very welcoming house, with everything you need to make it a home from home, and the breakfast hamper and cake on arrival were a special touch. We can't recommend Chydane highly enough, would love to return one day!

Nice stay directly at the beach

A very nice stay at this spacious house. We were 3 couples. Sure the master bedroom is the highlight but the other rooms were nice as well. The room below the roof a little bit small maybe. The house was perfectly equipped and the views from the big window breathtaking. If you like to take a walk church cove is nearby and even Portleven is in walking distance (40 mins). A remote but really nice place to stay in Cornwall!

Amazing getaway

We loved the home and location. If you like to walk the trails along the ocean, this location can't be beat. The home is lovely and has a very warm homey atmosphere. Arriving to the scones and cakes was such a lovely gesture. There is one restaurant within walking difference that we enjoyed. We are Poldark fans and could not believe how close the filming locations are. It was a magical vacation to get away from our busy lives.

One week at Chydane

Simply the most idyllic, amazing and wonderful place to stay. We know this part of Cornwall very well having visited for the last 40 years on a regular basis. This property surpassed all our expectations in every way. The sea views and location are amazing and the house is so welcoming and comfortable. It is so well-equipped and ready for you on arrival that you feel that you are arriving at your own home with that something special in addition. I could not recommend this property more as a destination and place to stay. We did not want to leave and do hope to return in the not too distant future.

Ein wunderbar gemütliches Haus, in dem man sich sofort wie zu Hause fühlt. Fast alle Zimmer sowie der Garten haben einen herrlichen Meerblick. Direkt vor dem Haus führt der South West Coast Path vorbei, idyllische Orte wie Porthleven oder Mullion sind nur eine kurze Wanderung entfernt. Wer lieber daheim bleibt, kann im Liegestuhl den Garten geniessen, sich in der sehr gut ausgestatteten Küche etwas zubereiten, vom Fenster aus den Fischern zuschauen oder ein Spiel aus der umfangreichen Sammlung im Wohnzimmer spielen. Wir waren schon mehrmals dort und fanden es bei jedem Wetter einfach toll.

Traumhaus in Traumlage

Die Lage des Hauses sucht seines gleichen, unglaublich, direkt an der Küste. Wenn es was auszusetzen gibt, dann nur das das Bad im DG keine Toilette hat, und der Aufstieg zum Dachzimmer nur über eine sehr enge und steile Treppe möglich ist. Schön wäre es auch wenn die beiden Zimmer im 1.OG über je ein Bad verfügen würden, leider ist das 2 Bad im EG hinter der Küche ohne Fenster. Aber das ist Jammern auf hohem Niveau.

Wir genossen zum zweiten Mal dieses wunderschöne Haus in unvergleichlicher Lage. Es fühlt sich nicht wie ein Ferienhaus, sondern wirklich wie ein Heim an, und das größte Dilemma ist die Entscheidung, ob man den Tag einfach nur zuhause genießt oder die herrliche Gegend erkundet. Danke!

Fantastische Lage - tolles Landhaus

Das Haus liegt direkt am Strand mir einzigartigem Meerblick und einem fantastischen Sonnenuntergang, den man auch von innen aus bequemen Sesseln durch die großen Fenster verfolgen kann. Das Haus ist bestens mit allem ausgestattet und für 6 Personen groß genug.

Great Escape

What an amazing time we had in Gunwalloe staying at Chydane. Location can’t be beat if you are looking for a quiet retreat and getting back to life without distractions. We truly enjoyed our long walks along the beach and in the hills exploring the beautiful coastline. The home was perfect for us and a bonus that groceries could be delivered as we didn’t have a car. Train and local cab companies were very convenient and we had no trouble getting around. We found the house very comfortable and enjoyed the large kitchen for the nights when we ate in. Great experience and we are hoping to return again. We definitely recommend.

Amazing house and location

We loved everything about the property. So we’ll equipped it was definitely home from home. Patricia was so helpful during the booking process and on arrival at the house. We were welcomed by a beautiful hamper. Just loved this place and to wake up and watch the sea from bed so just wonderful. Didn’t want to leave! We’ll definitely be back.

We would live here if we could! Amazing location. Clean as a whistle. Best stocked kitchen we have ever seen. 100% recommended. This is a gorgeous holiday Cottage.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

We saw the house many years ago while walking along the coastal path and because of its truly stunning location it took our breathes away. Like many people before and after us, we dreamt of owning a home like this. We came back every year for afternoon tea(as at the time the owner provided cream teas) and became friendly with the owners who assured us that they would only ever leave the house in a box! We are happy to report that they are alive and well and living a few miles down the coast! We still pinch ourselves as we often cannot believe that this particular dream did indeed come true!
The Lizard Peninsular is steeped in history and with beautiful gardens and walks, museums, theatres, galleries, theme parks, maritime centres and wildlife reserves, there is something for everyone.

Peace, quiet and total relaxation. We can be as active or lazy as the fancy takes us. With miles of wonderful walks, golf, beaches with swimming or surfing, award winning restaurants, museums and gardens on the doorstep or a short drive away we are spoilt for choice. On the other hand if you just want to sit and contemplate, there are few places that can compete with this truly unique setting.
