Paradise! Luxury 50-acre lakefront retreat. Swim, fish, kayak

45 minutes from Milwaukee or Madison, and just over an hour from Chicago, our beautiful, recently rebuilt 3-story lakefront home sits on a secluded 50 acres, enjoyed by walking the trails in the summer and snowshoeing in winter. The 8-acre lake is completely private and is fantastic for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing! Two screened decks offer a perfect place to read the morning paper and drink coffee, play games, and watch Wisconsin's incredible bird life or summer storms.

Featured in Rue Magazine, our home has all of the modern amenities, including:

• A gourmet kitchen with a prep island, all of the cooking equipment you could want, and a grill deck off to the side.

• A lake-view dining room with seating for 8-10. Larger families can open the door between the dining room and the deck to seat an additional 6 people.

• A living room featuring a beautiful stone fireplace and lake channel view. Sliding glass doors separate it from the screened-in, lake view deck which, when open, creates a wonderful flow between interior and exterior space.

• A second, lake-view screened deck on the top floor.

• Five bedrooms that comfortably sleep 10. Additional people can sleep on the bunk beds in the loft.

• A beach-level recreation room with direct access to the beach includes a pool table, ping pong, dart board, television, outdoor sauna, and outdoor shower.

• Five bathrooms, including a 6’ soaking tub, double vanities, and numerous walk-in showers.

Our home and land are a great place for a family reunion, or to use as a base for a summer vacation that includes side trips to the Wisconsin Dells, the Saturday Farmer's Market in Madison, the beautiful Kettle Moraine, or the world-class music at the renowned SummerFest in Milwaukee.

Love winter activities? You can't go wrong on 50 acres of land that can be explored with snowshoes or cross-country skis!

We are only 15-minutes to town, where you will be able to find all of the essentials. Don't forget to try Wisconsin's famous custard! This is "lake country," and there are numerous public lakes for fishing, boating, and dining, all within a short driving distance. In addition to local golfing, the famed golf courses of Erin, WI are only a 45-minute drive away.

Family Reunion Trip

What an amazing house for our family to gather for our annual family reunion close by. Five couples all had their own space, and our one adult child, who stayed in the bunk bed, was happy. The kitchen was the best-stocked rental kitchen we've ever seen. I wish we had more time to spend at the house. Next time!

Stunning home and property

We had a wonderful family weekend in this beautiful home. Loved all the outdoor activities as well as relaxing and enjoying the beautiful views. Everything was clean and new and the home was very well equipped with everything we needed.

We found this house a perfect match! The property was amazing-swimming, fishing, catching turtles, kayak rides, We did it all and never wanted to leave. House was spacious with lots to do and all were comfortable.

Great property

What a wonderful place for a vacation. Property was clean, gorgeous and a great place to get away for fishing, swimming and boating. Beautiful lake view, quiet and secluded. Lynn was great answering our questions and keeping us informed. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and coffee on the screened in decks. Highly recommended as one of the best places I have rented.

Annual Multi Family Trip

We have three families with 5 kids aged 6-11 that do an annual WI rental each summer to relax, catch up and be outside on the water. Of our four properties to date, this was by far our favorite! The home was well equipped with everything we needed, but the highlight was the beach and outside. The photos don’t do it justice - beautiful sandy beach, clean water & excellent fishing! Thank you!

You'll never want to leave

My family loved this home and everything it has to offer!! We really enjoyed fishing the private lake and taking the kayaks out. Everything is first class, from the land to the home to the amenities! Lynn was very communicative and responsive. You should have no doubts about booking this place!

Luxury in the wilderness!

We adored this beautiful home on a large private lot. Communication up to and including our trip was wonderful, Lynn is incredibly responsive and the info she gave us before our trip was such a help. The house has so many awesome updates inside. We loved sitting on the screened in patio at night when we weren't down by the bonfire, and the sauna was an amazing relaxing touch. The favorite part for our group was the lake - we spent all of our days kayaking, floating, and some brave ladies even jumped in a few times! A perfect place to get away and relax in nature. We loved our time at Looney Lake!

excellence....... wrapped into one bundle

house and property were amazing clean, beautiful, construction was phenomenal, yurt was great, fishing and lake were great, had EVERYTHING you would ever want. it is one of those rentals that you only need your clothes and personal items! we all appreciate the stay & thank our hosts. this was a 'healing' trip for us. just lost my husband, I am devasted & heart broken so daughter, grandkids, my son, my brother, my nephew & wife & 4 girls - all got together to heal, and ended up having an absolute blast amongst a few tears!!! can't say enough about how perfect it was.

Fantastic

Our family had a great time. The home was lovely and loved the property. The home was well stocked with whatever a family would need inside and out. The kitchen was very well equipped with all all the pots, pans, utensils etc. We had fun playing pool, ping pong and games at night. The outside had plenty of kayaks, canoes, and a paddle board that we used for enjoyment. The little ones loved the sandy beach and swimming in the shallow water. There also was bean bag toss, floats for enjoyment. We were so busy we never used the sauna. The screened in porches were a delight to sit and have coffee and happy hour in. The owner Lynn was quick to respond to questions as was Tim her on-site support person. Would highly recommend and would rent again. Thank you

Everything as listed and more!

Wow, our group of 9 friends were blown away by Lynn's property. The half mile drive down the long driveway makes this property super secluded. It's like you have your own private retreat with multiple smaller lakes and various wildlife here and there. the house itself is the highlight as no detail has been missed. The screened in porch on both the first and second floors allowed us to have a bug free experience while enjoying the scenery. The kitchen was more than adequately stocked with almost every spice imaginable and plenty of plates, silverware, serving utensils and cookware for large parties. The house has obviously been built or remodeled recently as the amenties are all higher end with Kohler bath fixtures everywhere. The basement ping pong and pool table were a hit. And even though we didn't use it, there was a dry/wet sauna. Also, plenty of lake kayaks, canoes, SUPs and life jackets. The property is only 20 minutes from restaurants, grocery shopping and other offerings in Oconomowoc yet you feel alone in your own world. We've all stayed in many VRBO properties across the country and this one was by far near the top of the list. Thanks for a great stay!

Incredible Cabin - Pictures don't do it justice!

We knew the second we turned onto the Looney Lake "driveway" that we were on to something great! The pathway seemed to last forever...but in the best way possible. The trail was surrounded on both sides by trees and water. We couldn't believe how big the lake actually was. Only a few of us were able to make it up for the first night which was relaxing. When we arrived we couldn't help but instantly jump into the kayaks and canoes and explored the property. The lake seemed to continue further and further around the property. We unfortunately weren't able to stay out on the lake for too long as a large storm was rolling in. The rest of the night we relaxed while playing poker in the screened-in porch on the 2nd floor. The rest of the stay was just as enjoyable. Each morning we went out golfing at a new golf course. Luckily there were several within a 20 minute drive from the cabin. Besides golf we never found a reason to leave the cabin for any activities. They have everything you need plus more for a great weekend away. Thank you for sharing your amazing cabin with us and we are already planning a yearly trip back!

Spectacular! Stunning! Perfect!

After a year + of lockdown, we could not have asked for a better vacation/reunion. I took my 5 children ages 8 to 17 along with my brother and his wife to Wisconsin to visit my large family in Milwaukee. We have rented lake houses before but none of the properties allowed dogs, and this year we have a dog (and my brother and his wife have 2 small dogs) which is how I came upon finding this incredible property. Lynn, the owner, treated us like family, and Randy the caretalker and his wife Vicky are amazing people and took care of us incredibly well. The beach is right outside the door, and the lake is beautiful and clean. Everything you need for a wonderful stay is provided: Boats, fishing poles, towels, chairs, little tables with umbrellas, etc. My son celebrated his 10th birthday roasting hot dogs and marshmallows around the firepit, and there was plenty of room for all the visitors to sit and enjoy dinners cooked on the spotless grill. There are bike & hiking trails around the property and you feel totally secluded and peaceful. There is a great rec room with a gorgeous pool table, ping pong, and large screen TV for family movie nights. The steam/sauna was clean and luxurious. The home itself is chic with an elegant design while still being rustic, homey and comfortable. The attention to detail is outstanding. There is a Yurt on the property that you can rent for overnight guests and it is breathtaking. I cannot say enough about how perfect this experience was and how well we were treated by the family that owns the property. I highly recommend this stay and plan on returning next year! Thank you Lynn for sharing your amazing home with us. It is a little piece of paradise.

Wonderful lake house stay

This is such an amazing property and very peaceful. Extremely clean and well made house. The host was very easy to get in touch with and very responsive. We had a wonderful long weekend and will definitely stay again if in the area in the future.

Beautiful property!

Great long weekend spend in paradise. The house is very clean and fully stocked with everything you might need. Very comfortable beds. The property and lake are just beautiful, kids despite the rain spent the whole time canoeing and paddle boarding and swimming. We would love to return.

It is extremely private and beautiful, a lake to yourself with lots of wonderful rods/kayaks!

The house is also very nice and spacious. You won't regret booking this place for a big group getaway! Lynn was very attentive as we set up our trip and made sure we would have the best possible time.

Amazing Cabin

This cabin is an ideal place for a larger group of friends or a couple of close families to spend a weekend. The sprawling wooded property provided plenty of space for activities. The space also provided privacy, so we were not bothered by other people like you would be at a campground. The lake was picturesque. The cabin itself was big enough to fit our large group, but it still maintained the cozy rustic feel. The owners were accommodating and professional. We were all thankful that they welcomed us into their home and provided everything we needed for a great weekend. I highly recommend this rental.

Our home and land have been in the family for more than 30 years. Although mid-way between Milwaukee and Madison, and only an hour + from Chicago, as soon as we enter the gate we feel as if we are in the secluded north woods. It is the perfect place for family reunions, for being together with sufficient indoor and outdoor space to also have privacy. It is a truly unique property.
