Stone Cottage with Pool & EV charger - heart of Burgundy/Champagne countryside

I am really disappointed the cottage did not live up to your expectations. The cottage is our second home, we have spent many years renovating it and it saddens me greatly that it was not up to your standards. As soon as I received your email the morning after your arrival requesting a call, I called you. When you explained you were not happy, I immediately and without hesitation offered you a full refund of the rental. I did not know until later that you arrived 3 hours early at 1 pm. Check-in time as you know is 4 pm. There is no doubt in my mind that the pressure put on the change-over lady by your early arrival to do a quick change and vacate as quickly as possible was not helpful. I was surprised at the comments regarding cleanliness. The guest feedback we have received this year has been positive and complementary. The guests that left that same morning provided an independent review on a competitor website describing the cottage as “…clean and comfortable and very well located… We could easily have stayed on for another week!” They gave 5 stars for cleanliness. The week before that the guests review described the cottage as a “Super offering, clean, very good communication. Our holiday was super!” The cottage is in rural French countryside. At harvest time (normally early July) the local wildlife are disturbed from their natural habit and head towards the village. If the doors are left open it is inevitable that there will be the occasional opportunity to venture into the house. We try our best to keep the wildlife out and catch and rehome if they do, but when we are not there ourselves this relies on guests noticing and reporting to us. That is a matter of life in the countryside. The Home Away description accurately emphasises the cottage location. At any time of the year, but harvest time especially, wildlife is in abundance. We have had sight of deers, fox cubs, field mice in the garden and wild boar in the surrounding fields. In spring we had nesting red tails in the garage: 4 gorgeous chicks chirped as we went in and out. Our June guests were as delighted as we were. That is what makes the location so wonderful. We try to make it as clear as possible in the property description that if you like nature, the countryside and appreciate interaction with wildlife then you will love the cottage. I am also disappointed to learn that you were not happy with the fences and stone walls that surround the plot. There were photographs on the website and in addition before you booked you were provided with more photos (uploaded to the website and by email) and a full description: country style post and rail with a wire up to about 0.5m. The wire is only there to stop my 3 Lhasa Apsos (as you can see in the website photos) from venturing across the fields. We do allow well-behaved dogs but they must be supervised by their owners. They are not to be left in the garden alone. You told me you had two little dogs but not of the need to have them securely confined/restricted.
