Couples Getaway In The Heart Of The Harbor

Peaceful, cozy, quaint, retreat, are all words that describe this vacation spot.
Our 880 square foot carriage house is just the place to enjoy all that York Harbor has to offer.
One bedroom with queen bed, full bath with walk in shower, family room with double recliner couch and recliner chair, dining area with table and four chairs and full kitchen with an sunny deck off the back of the house, makes this is a great place to vacation. Fully furnished and ready to move in. Just bring you bathing suits.
Walk to Long Sands beach, Fisherman's Walk, and the Wiggly Bridge as well as to the wonderful area restaurants. Located a short distance from world famous Nubble Lighthouse. We are very close to shopping at the Kittery Outlet shops as well as downtown Portsmouth, and sightseeing from Ogunquit to Kennebunk. Enjoy all that the Maine coast has to offer.
Booking are from Saturday to Saturday only and if you are bringing a pet, there is a $200 pet fee. Generally we will allow one pet per stay.
We look forward to hosting you at our place in the Harbor.

Joe and Marie were great friendly hosts. They greeted us at check in and provided a walk through of the Couples Getaway. We were so impressed with the cleanliness, spaciousness and decor of their rental. We have visited York for the past 7 years. This is the best place we have stayed at. Nice units for couples are hard to find.Thank you Joe and Marie for sharing the Getaway with us!

Peaceful Retreat In Nature Reserve

Our week in Boothbay was relaxing and made a good hub for traveling to Bath and surrounding area. The best part is the screened in back porch. Refer to the photos of our stay for photo of view at sunset and a picture of a visitor.A huge thank you to Katie for helping us out when we locked ourselves out.

Wonderful!!

We had a wonderful stay at Joe and Marie’s rental!! Joe and Marie are lovely hosts, and their dog Millie is so sweet. The location is fabulous and we enjoyed a week at the beach and beautiful coastal walks. We would love to return next year!!

Wonderful accommodations and friendly/helpful hosts

Joe and Marie were wonderful hosts who patiently answered all of my logistical questions about the facilities and check in process. They also had very helpful suggestions on dining options and places to see, not only in York, but in Portland, where we stayed a few days before moving on to York. The property was extremely well maintained and was perfect for two people - large kitchen/dining area, bathroom, etc. Nice to have a deck with grill outside. We have visited York 4-5 times before and this was our most enjoyable visit, thanks to the accommodations and our hosts. We look forward to returning.

Absolutely lovely in every way!

Just back after one-week stay with our old cat (we couldn't be more grateful to Joe & Marie for having welcomed her as well - cats are badly discriminated when it comes to 'pet-friendly' accommodation!) The apartment - the 'FROG' - is cozy and comfortable, and maintained impeccably, with everything you'll need (even beach chairs!) We love walking and the location is perfect, with two beaches within an easy walk - and a lot of beautiful places (plus restaurants and shops) not reachable by feet within a short drive. Joe & Marie, and their beautiful creamy Labrador retriever, Millie, are everything you could ask from a host: welcoming, responsive, helpful, discreet. In short, we look forward being back!

Great Place!

We just returned home from a weeks stay. It was definitely not long enough! Joe, Marie & Millie (dog) are great!! The Carriage House is the perfect spot. It is between two beaches but, not in the middle of the traffic or hustle and bustle. Anything you could want or need is not far and it is easy to get around. It is very clean and they have it equipped with anything you might need. Joe & Marie make you feel very welcome. It was hard to leave-was like leaving family. We will be back😎

Perfect for 2 Adults and a dog

Fantastic Apartment

Relaxing Vacation in York Harbor

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Our hosts, Joe and Marie, were kind and thoughtful. The space was absolutely perfect for two people, and our hosts anticipated any possible renter needs. It is meticulously maintained and is situated in a great location. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great place to stay! If you are looking for a, "quiet, clean, close to everthing, but not too close" kind of place , STAY HERE! Joe, Marie and Millie ( the lab) are great hosts. They were friendly, informative, and accommodating all while not being intrusive. Next time we are staying in York, we will happily look them up 1st!

Nice apartment

The accommodation is in a very nice area and walkable to the beach. Comfortable furnishings and a nice porch with grill. The only thing that was a slight issue for us was that the apt. Has a queen bed. Hubby is 6’4” so it was a bit short for him.

Terrific Place and Wonderful Hosts!

My dog and I were welcomed with open arms and have had a wonderful time staying in York with the hosts at this property for what I consider a long term stay (more than a few weeks). The apartment is clean, cozy and lovely, and I have been able to telework without a problem. Joe and Marie have been nothing but kind, warm and accommodating and it’s been great to touch base with such terrific people in New England. Coming from the DC area where it had been very hot this summer it was a real treat to be welcomed by gracious hosts. VRBO is extremely lucky to have people like Joe and Marie in their network.

Joe and Marie had us at Hello! Very sweet couple who live in the main house.

Relaxing comfortable and disconnected .Owners live on the property but are not at all intrusive. We are sensitive to that and and we left feeling like we hardly saw them at all and when we did it was more us with questions than anything. We have an aggressive dog and they have a dog as well. That made us nervous because their dog is off leash and in the agreement it states that your dog must be leashed. Joe couldn’t have been more accommodating- we set up signals via porch lights to communicate when we were going outside with our dog so the two dogs never saw each other. One thing we look for is a place that our dog enjoys. She is the equivalent to a pampered child. Sky (our dog) did not want to leave. It was maybe her best vacation yet. The little patio was her favorite spot. We would definitely come back!

Great Summer Vacation

My husband and I had a wonderful week away with our Golden Retriever. Close to beaches and restaurants. Nicely appointed apartment with everything we needed. Joe and Marie are wonderful hosts and had great local recommendations.

Perfect holiday in York

This was a lovely home, very near to beaches, good restaurants, and charming coastal towns in Maine. We traveled with our dog, and she was welcomed as warmly as we were. Highly recommended! There's a great bike shop in town—rent a bike, and you'll have an even better time on your Maine vacation.

Excellent vacation spot

My wife and I were looking for a property that was clean and well maintained and in a nice location and that we could bring our dog. This property met all of our needs and Joe and Marie were excellent hosts and a great couple to get to know. We certainly will keep it in mind for the future.

Cozy Carriage House

We enjoyed a weeks stay in this cozy apartment. It was the perfect size for 2 people and our dog Paddy. The location was quiet and peaceful. At night with the bedroom window open we could hear the ocean. I absolutely loved that. The location is great for visiting all the attractions in the area. Joe and Marie our hosts were very warm and welcoming. We were very lucky to have found this gem and hope to come back again. Thank you Joe and Marie for sharing the “FROG” with us. Kate and Joe

Peaceful Oasis

This is a spectacular home away from home. The hosts are wonderful and kind and the space is extraordinary. Our stress melted away the moment we entered. Millie was very patient with our 14 year old Rat Terrier and so sweet. Arguably the best greeter in Maine! We can't wait to return and see our new friends!

We built the FROG (Family Room over garage) to be our weekend and vacation cottage.
It served us well until we built our home adjacent to the FROG in 2015.
Myself, Marie and our older yellow lab, Millie love this area.
Beach, hiking, restaurants, we have it all here. We love walking the "Cliff Walk" and the "Fisherman's Walk".

I was born and raised in Portland Maine. My family moved to Connecticut when I was young.
I always wanted to get back to the Maine coast. Now I am here and love it.

Close walk to the beach, local fare, wonderful area to enjoy summers.
The sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks, the occasional gong of the bell buoy in the harbor, all typical of this area.
Lobsters right off the boat, is the best food option. You could get tired of eating so much lobster.
