The stylish apartment is reached by a short flight of steps to the front door. Formerly a military barracks, this grade II listed building has been converted into a gated residential community. The property is laid out on two floors, the entrance floor: boasts a large open plan living space with kitchen, dining and lounge, stylishly furnished with huge Georgian windows and high ceilings. The floor below comprising of 3 double bedrooms 1 with ensuite and a family 4 piece bathroom. The apartment is a 5 minute walk to the Gosport ferry which takes you to Portsmouth and Gunwharf Quays. Approx 5 minute journey which runs 24 hrs. The beach is a 20 minute walk away. There is one car parking space provided. No vans are allowed.

Kitchen fully equipped but old and in dire need of a good clean. Not a lot of storage space. A lot of the utensils just fell to pieces when you touched them. Potato peeler,cheese grater,bread board.The bathroom walls had paint peeling of the walls and ceilings.Showers kitchen sinks,gas hob and oven although tried cleaning them it was impossible. On a good note the apartment was roomy and warm and the children enjoyed the space. Main bedroom mattress was stained. No change of bedding or towels and we were there for 4 weeks. Apparment handy if you want to explore Gosport area but a traffic nightmare if you want to travel elsewhere.

Great location!

The apartment is spacious, clean and pretty. It was perfect for our large family. We loved riding the ferry to Portsmouth!

A stunning building, great location but a little underwhelming

Great place, which suited our family needs well. Overall though the apartment - decor, fittings, kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery - felt rather tired & worn.

Easter Break in Gosport

Lovely apartment, very spacious with everything we needed. The apartment was very clean. Good amenities close by and within easy reach of the New Forest, the beach and Portsmouth. We had a lovely break.

Visiting for a family party

For us it was an ideal situation for the party and for the experiences offered for the Dockyard experience. There are many supermarkets nearby and easy walking distance to the ferry and busses.The property was clean and provided all that we needed for a short stay. Paintwork need attention but can understand that if selling. Overall it was a good choice for us.

Disappointed

The property needs a good thorough clean. Our 3 year old was on floor the first morning along with his Uncle and when they got up they were covered in dust. The beading around kitchen floor was unsafe by the fridge freezer and my son ripped his foot on it. The utensils weren’t really clean so we avoided cooking in the place. We thought the bathrooms needed sorting the skirting paint was all flaking and broken. The headboard in first bedroom was all ripped too. If it was my property I think I would bring it up to date with the decoration ie painting and furnishings. The parking especially for us where we required 2 cars wasn’t suitable as one car had to be parked outside the complex when so many spaces inside weren’t used inside.Luckily I have family living near by that was able to collect keys as we wouldn’t be arriving until late at night but for any families that didn’t would have struggled as my sister collected the day before as the they were away the Saturday of arrival.

Luxury Duplex Apartment - "Not"

As suggested on FAQ's, I attempted to contact the property manager before writing the review but was unable to. Booked the accommodation based on reviews, did wonder why there are none listed after March 2022?? Pros - Spacious, parking, location, quite neighborhood. Property manager did fix basin plug and offered to request repair of bath tap. Also provided a firmer pillow. As a listing advertised as "Luxury", we believe it is misleading, may have been some years ago. Cons - Inaccurate description, not luxury (general condition of apartment very tired) No dryer as listed (only rack available), was one of the reasons for booking as we were booked for 3 weeks. Fridge, wash machine, pots/pans not clean. None of the extraction fans work (bathrooms/kitchen, mentioned in other reviews) Under counter lights don't work, a 25 pound fix, will make food preparation easier. Smoke detectors needed replacement in 2016, fire blanket would be handy located close to gas hob. Fitted sheet and pillows need replacing, clean but worn. No toilet roll holders, very inconvenient when toilet tissue is needed and it is out of reach.

Family sight-seeing trip

Super stay! Paige personally greeting us and showing us around was a nice touch! Loved having ample room for our family of 5 to relax, and cooking meals was a breeze in the well-supplied kitchen. Reserved parking spot for our vehicle rental was fanastic. Only thing we needed but didn't have were paper towels! Highly recommened!

Great location

Great weekend

I cannot fault this apartment, just perfect for a group of friends, clean and roomy and perfectly located for the ferry to and from Portsmouth. Aldi close by for supplies and host was very helpful 10/10

Lots of history in this building and surrounding area - a brief summary of it and Gosport would have been nice ! We enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic holiday in fabulous accommodation

We booked this accommodation as I had to recently cancel a holiday in France and it looked perfect on the website.We did not know much about Gosport but staying in an old army barrack was a fascinating prospect. We were due to arrive in Gosport at 2 and check in was at 4 so we would spend some time exploring.. At around 12 I got a message from Simone asking our arrival time and she informed us we were welcome from 2 pm... That was a perfect start to our trip. Simone was easily contactable throughout our stay which was a comforting thought incase we needed When we got there the housekeeper let us in and it was all exactly as described on the website.. even better as the kitchen for example was more than fully equipped and we were all given large fluffy towels to use.. As we stayed in a really hot week the bedrooms downstairs were simply perfect as they always stayed cool.. The building is really special and it’s history and that of all the surrounding buildings is very interesting.. Gosport is a lovely town and the accommodation is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the pedestrian ferry which takes you straight into Portsmouth. During our stay sadly most museums etc were still closed due to Covid-19 but we still managed to have a great time.. If anything it made us relax even more and really enjoy lazy mornings at home.. Our favourite place was Gosport beach.. It was easy to social distance yet it felt vibrant and busy. All of us went swimming in the sea nearly every day which was amazing.. I am so glad we cancelled France to come to Gosport and to this lovely home.. cause that is what it felt like.. a home away from home.. cosy yet spacious, warm yet cool.. I would definitely recommend this and am already thinking about returning next year.

The property was lovely. Nice and clean and well maintained. Nice location too. Ferry to Portsmouth is close. Local ALDI is very close if you need supplies. Highly recommended.

Trip to Portsmouth

Lovely stay. Property as per listing- airy, clean and well equipped. Short walk to the harbour ferry from Gosport to Portsmouth, which takes 3 mins and runs frequently. Really convenient and away from the bustle of Portsmouth itself. We found a nice little Italian 10 mins walk away, but shops were also close by if you needed anything. Would stay again.

Stairs where an issue

The property was good size and clean, the stairs where a issue as really steep and didn't say in advert and didn't show pictures of the amount of stairs but overall was a great place to stay

Absolutely stunning place - great location

We stayed in Sarah’s place for 2 nights as we were filming in Gosport and Portsmouth. We wanted somewhere quiet and spacious as we had a lot of equipment with us and somewhere we could cook! We absolutely loved it, lovely high ceilings, everywhere felt really spacious, we could have the beds made up into singles or kept doubles which was really handy! The sofa bed I was told was very comfortable. If we ever find ourselves down here again for work I would love to stay here again. Highly recommend!!

I live in Gosport with my husband and young son. We have all travelled extensively and have often rented houses ourself so we know that it's the little details that can really make a holiday or weekend away. We bought our property in 2005. I spend my time looking after our little boy and looking after both properties - Bury Tower and St Georges Walk, along with a team of fantastic cleaners. Gosport is a great area for a short break. Our property is less than a mile from the beach, the fabulous Gunwharf Quays shopping and entertainment complex is just 5 minutes away by ferry. Less than 2 hours from London and only 30 mins from Southampton Airport.

We love this area, with the convenience of the Gosport Ferry 5 mins walk away, get 5 minutes by car and we can enjoy a wonderful walk on the beach. Just 30 minutes to Southampton Airport and 1 hours ferry journey to the Isle of Wight. We really feel lucky to live somewhere so accessible.
