Holly Cottage comprises a former cattleman's cottage which has been transformed into a luxury holiday cottage. Situated on a working farm, the cottage overlooks a valley and has immediate access to over 2,000 acres of common land. Perfect for mountain biking, hiking or simply a rural retreat, yet only one hour from central London.
The house combines a mix of modern and rustic charm with features that include panoramic bifold doors, underfloor heating, smart TV, fast fibre broadband and a wood burning stove.

Holly Cottage was a terrific place to stay. It was so quiet and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided and the internet was amazingly fast if you need to work while traveling. Tim was very responsive but gave us our privacy. The Peaslake Store was just down the road for anything we needed and even carried products from the Coverwood Farm, where Holly Cottage is located. One of my fav places I’ve stayed in. Would highly recommend!

Slice of Heaven

Our stay at the property was genuinely delightful. Everything was exactly as advertised, and we felt as though we had found a little slice of paradise. Each morning, we woke up early to the calming sight of horses grazing in the nearby fields and cows lazily roaming about—what a wonderful way to start the day! The convenience of being able to walk directly from the property into the scenic surroundings was a huge plus and allowed us to really immerse ourselves in nature.The owners, the Metson family, were incredibly kind and welcoming. They greeted us with a lovely welcome basket filled with fresh milk and an assortment of delicious baked goods that truly made us feel at home. Their thoughtfulness and hospitality added a personal touch to our experience that we greatly appreciated.Without a doubt, we will return to this charming getaway in the future, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and picturesque retreat.

Such a Relaxing Setting

This is the place to go if you're looking for a peaceful stay in nature. The cottage is close to hiking trails and all you hear are birds singing.We arrived to a basket of generous snacks, and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need for a family get together.Tim and his family were super helpful and made us feel welcome and at home.A weekend was simply not enough! We wanted to stay longer.. Highly recommended!

Amazing farm stay

It was great to stay on a working farm and enjoy views of the fields. The house was lovely just as described and Tim was on hand to help if we needed anything. We would definitely go back.

Lovely relaxing stay

Coverwood farms is a lovely farm in the Surrey Hills. It’s an active place with cows and sheep and horses roaming the fields in front of the cottage. The house was spotless and stocked with pizzas, bread, butter, and eggs “from the farm“. We felt very well looked after. The house is bright and airy, and we marveled at the place while driving in an out through the working farm. The beds were comfortable and the grounds backed up to trails for walking. I give Tim an A+ rating for creating such a lovely, restive retreat

Perfect cottage in the Surrey Hills

Holly Cottage is beautiful with a great location just a few minutes drive from Peaslake. The views from the cottage are stunning, which makes it even harder to leave to enjoy the stunning surrounding countryside. There are several walks directly from the cottage and many country pubs in the area. To top it off, the Mentons were fabulous hosts. We certainly want to come back!

Gorgeous location

A perfect retreat in spectacular countryside. The Cottage is clean and well equipped and is a good base to explore the Surrey Hills . Thank you to Tim and your family for making us feel very much at home .

Beautiful property in an amazing location

Tim and his family made us feel welcomed in their lovely cottage. They were more than happy to chat and tell us about the farm if you wanted to know more about it. The property looked out over the working farm fields with cattle, horses and sheep. We spent the evenings sitting outside the cottage watching the animals graze in the sunshine. Our toddler enjoyed going to see the horses in the stables especially, Jack and playing in the cottage gardens. The cottage has everything you need, including coffee machine, dishwasher etc. And the owners kindly left things like coffee pods and dishwasher tablets which really help. Tim and his family left us meat from their farm which is an awesome welcome gesture! The cottage was spotlessly clean and modern with everything you need to cook meals for the family to entertaining. Local walking routes are accessible straight from the cottage too. Very relaxed, enjoyable and private stay. Would definitely return

Amazing rural retreat!

Brilliant week away at a lovely house in a beautiful part of the country. Kids loved living on a farm and seeing the lambs, cows, deer and horses and view of the countryside from the house was stunning. Perfect location for walks in the Surrey Hills and managed to sample numerous great pub beer gardens in the first week of opening. Would highly recommend staying here for a walking, biking or just a quiet family holiday. Thanks to Tim and all his family on the farm for a great holiday!

A rural idyll

The house was just perfect. Extremely well appointed, clean and cosy. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside and you can walk on pathways straight from the house. We all felt immediately relaxed and our only regret was that we could not stay longer. One of our party had to get an early morning taxi in order to get a flight from Gatwick and Tim said she should phone him if the taxi did not arrive - and this would have been at 5 am! Perfect house, perfect host.

Beautiful relaxing location - we never want to leave!

Lovely cottage with simple, clean decor offering space and light but by far the best bit is the gorgeous country views framed by woodland. The welcome is always warm and Tim and family balance beautifully attentiveness with privacy and the feeling that this is our home. We find it hard to believe that others also stayi in ‘our’ holiday home as we are made to feel so special as i’m sure every guest is.

If you’re looking for a relaxing farm stay Holly Cottage is ideal. Located on a working cattle farm. Our grandchildren enjoyed watching the horses and talking with their careers. Fantastic views and good access to local walking trails.

A rural paradise within an hour of Waterloo Station!

Holly Cottage is exactly what it says on the tin - it's an 'away from it all' cottage, and part of a working farm with breathtaking panoramic views. Tim and his tireless family are super hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. The welcome flowers and preloaded fridge are a superb touch that we just loved. The cottage is spacious and very homely, and you'll be able to share your morning coffee with free range cows and horses who exist very gently right next to the cottage. It's one of those places that you can just move into, unpack your suitcases, and exist in. We loved the fact that, despite the seclusion, Guildford is a 20 minute drive away, and getting to Waterloo Station in London only takes about an hour. The surrounding villages and areas are quaint and fun to visit, especially in the summer, and there are almost endless little roads and lanes to explore. You will not regret a few days at Holly Cottage.

Cosy, modern farm house in the heart of beautiful Surrey. Tim and the entire family were amazing hosts and this is one of the best holidays we have had! We will be dreaming about Holly’s cottage when we get back home!

Stunning country UK retreat

Holly Cottage, Peaslake was everything we hoped for and more - the photos on the website represent it perfectly. It was a perfect retreat, in spectacular countryside, to recover from a long flight from Australia. We were greeted by beautiful roses and a generous food hamper which was lovely. The cottage was so well resourced we couldn't think of anything else we would have needed. The Metson's were fantastic hosts and even jump started our car on our last day and saved us from missing our train to Paris (thanks again!!) - thanks for a wonderful stay - we hope to return one day!!! The Croll family

Gorgeous location and perfect cottage for us

Wonderful welcome pack awaited us. Tim was around/available if we needed him but also gave us our own space. We felt almost part of the little community and really felt that we had moved in. Loved the proximity to Peaslake - lovely stroll through the woods or short drive down the lane. Beauriful sun trap with great outdoor seating. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had amazing views. Mattresses could have been a little thicker but everything else was perfect for us. We will be back!

Beautiful, well equipped, quiet cottage.

My husband and I had a great stay in Holly cottage. Thank you Metson family for a warm welcome combined with privacy, for comfort in a beautiful rural surrounding. The air is pure, the silence of nature, the outdoor walks of Surrey. We liked the cottage. beds, kitchen, shower, wifi was all perfect. We loved being here. Moniek van Sandick (the Netherlands)

Beautiful, well equipped and peaceful.

Our third stay at Holly Cottage was excellent as usual. The cottage is clean, in a beautiful location, and extremely well equipped. Tim and family are friendly and our two boys loved watching the cows and horses come and go. A great location to get around the south of England, we will definitely be staying again.

Holly Cottage is situated in the most delightful peaceful rural location, our stay was bliss!

Arriving at Coverwood, we immediately realised we have made a perfect choice. Holly Cottage had everything and more to offer. For those who enjoy the countryside and what the countryside has to offer it was there on the doorstep! Beautiful woodland walks, birdsong and the view from the property were all complementary to making our stay so enjoyable. The Metson family and their farming enterprise in particular their Hereford Cattle, provided us with much pleasure. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Holly Cottage!

Perfect for us. Peace and quiet in absolute comfort with a priceless view

This is perfect if you like to be slightly remote, surrounded by beautiful countryside and on a working farm. This lovingly renovated cottage has all the mod cons you need, lovely nice little thoughtful touches, the added bonus of two bathrooms, one upstairs and one on the ground floor, open plan living areas, yet with enough room to be alone or together. The cottage is kept spotlessly clean with luxury linen, towels and toiletries. We were greeted by gorgeous flowers, a surprise gift of some of their own farm meat in the freezer and immediate supplies in the fridge and everywhere you need them. Tim and his family really look after this cottage as they work hard on the farm and take care to make sure you are also looked after. Take your time as you drive through the farm - no point in rushing as animals and associated farm machinery quite rightly come first. We are very pleased to have found this rental cottage and will come back in a heartbeat. It IS worth every penny and has been perfect for us. We have already recommended it to friends and will continue to do so.

Gorgeous countryside hideaway

Fairytale cottage, with hotel style service from lovely family run farm. We arrived to a very well stocked kitchen including delicious coverwood artisan meats from animals that are visibly very well cared for. The cottage is delightful modern and clean whilst still retaining plenty of charm. The practicalities of the house have been carefully considered so it was very easy for us as a family to settle in. The house has two bedrooms but the layout works that the second lounge works perfectly as a third bedroom with its own showeroom. The horses and cows on the farm were a joy to see as you drove through the farm to get to the house. The views were wonderful and enjoyed some beautiful Autumn walks. We were lucky enough to stay during an open day at coverwood and loved the magical gardens and lakes. Peaslake has good pub and village shop. And cranleigh is a lovely town with some lovely shops. Highly reccomended for an escape to the country. Quite hard to leave...

Great views, accommodation and setting

We had a delightful week at Holly Cottage. We were greeted with many quality eats, treats and drinks which we enjoyed during our stay. The views are beautiful and the farm activities were of interest too. As no light pollution on a clear night you can see the full glory of the stars. High spec modern accommodation in a peaceful relaxed setting and a good base to explore the beauty of Surrey. We wish to return.

Splendidly perfect

It's not often you find a cottage offering a 5-star experience at a 3-star price. Coverwood Farm is a bucolic retreat, perfect for anyone wanting either to get away and rest, or see the outstanding beauty of the Surrey Hills. What made this an instant hit for my two kids (11 and 13) and I was arriving after a long flight to find a fridge full of organic farm goods: eggs, butter, cheese, beef, ice cream. There were cookies and coffee. The internet behaved fast and flawlessly the entire week. The TV had no problems, the washer and dryer were great. The place is clean, airy, bright. It has fantastic views, horses, sheep, cows the kids will be delighted to see. Out the back you can walk up to Holmbury Hill, or further to Leith Hill. The location is ideal for biking, for running, for ambling in the countryside. Guildford was 20 minute drive away, Gomshall with its wonderful pub - the Mill - 8 minutes. To top it off...Tim, the owner, is an affable rural entrepreneur who understands that extroverts want to chat, introverts want to be left alone. A landlord who...gets it. Of all the cottages in England I've stayed at...and there have been a few...this is the only one I'd go back to. It is awesome.

We are a 3rd generation farming family. The grassland farm consists of a pedigree herd of Hereford cattle, sheep and horses at livery. Totalling approximately 200 acres we are situated in a popular but peaceful tucked away position in the central Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
