Sobre esta propriedade
Large garden, dogs welcome,10 Minutes to Beach, EV charger, solar power, wifi.
Corbiere really is in a central position so you can enjoy the peace of the countryside and the views for miles across the fields to the back of the property. Sometimes the barn owl and weasels can be seen at dusk hunting along the field boundaries.
Corbiere has three bedrooms and offers home comforts such as a Smart TV, two sofas, microwave and washing machine. For guests with mobility needs please be aware that there is a step up into the shower and the drive is rather uneven. It is a compact bungalow and the bathroom is not large. The bedroom have hooks for hanging clothes on and hangers are supplied. It is well equipped for families with games and plenty of open space. There are beach toys and a windbreak to borrow for trips to the beach.
We have sowed an annual meadow in the field next to the garden that you can access from the car parking area for the last 4 years. Please do not let dogs into this area. You are welcome to take a cuppa and sit under the gazebo to enjoy the views across the field. Richard the farmer sometimes has cattle in the field but this year it looks as he's letting it grow for hay.
The long sandy beaches of Huttoft Bank and Anderby Creek are just a 10 minute car drive away. From there you can walk to Sutton on Sea (and even to Mablethorpe if you are feeling very energetic). There are plenty of dog friendly cafes at both seaside resorts and pubs to relax in and for refreshments. Chapel St Leonards has a pub on the beach... just turn right at the top of the access path and walk along... it's not far! It's called the Admiral Benbow.
Sutton on Sea has long sandy beaches to enjoy, a promenade to stroll along and a good variety of pubs, shops and restaurants to try, from the Bacchus Hotel to fish and chips. Children love the large paddling pool sheltered from the sea breeze and there are tennis courts and Petanque to try too. We easily entertained 6 children aged 10 to 18 for 3 days here. It is a quiet resort without amusements or slot machines. The paddling pool and long sandy beach with a lifeguard during the Summer holidays are excellent for young children too. We found that hiring a beach hut was a good idea and gave us a base with a kettle/sink/4 deckchairs from which we could relax but keep an eye on the children at the same time. To hire a beach hut e mail adriansosfirst@gmail.com
Mablethorpe is a larger resort with golden sand, a children’s paddling pool with squirting water features and amusements and rides along the prom. There are donkey rides in the summer and a cinema and Seal Sanctuary if the weather is wet. Linda's cafe in Queen's park sells meals for about £5!
Chapel St Leonards is also popular with families and dog lovers. the new North Sea Observatory at Chapel Point is well worth a visit for the cafe and sea viewing area too. It is on the Round Britain Coastal Path.
Skegness is about 30 minutes drive from Corbiere and has Butlins, Fantasy Island, and a huge variety of amusements, cafes and restaurants to try! You can visit as a day visitor.
For nature lovers, the breeding colony of grey seals at Donna Nook in November and December are a real ‘must’ and well worth trying to photograph. There are also nature reserves at Gibraltar Point (lovely cafe and raised viewing area) and Snipe Dales.
The Lincolnshire Wolds with their rolling hills are only a 25 minute drive away with the lovely market town of Louth to visit. Louth has independent shops, tea rooms and a market on Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays throughout the year. Farmers Markets take place on the 4th Wednesday and 2nd Friday each month.
Corbiere is well located for a family or friends to explore this area. Please contact me if you wish to bring tents to accommodate more people as the garden is big enough for larger groups. The only thing you need to consider is how may people you want to share the one toilet!

Sobre o anfitrião
Anfitrião: Sarah Reynolds
Hello…. I am Sarah and I manage the Corbiere on behalf of my late husband Pete and his father Gordon. Gordon built the bungalow next door in 1975 as their home and Corbiere was his tractor shed! When his eye-sight deteriorated and he could no longer drive or farm, Gordon built an extension on the tractor shed and changed it into a holiday bungalow. I now live in Sheffield and Pete's family home is rented out. The bungalow is called Corbiere as Pete's mother went to visit her brother who was posted to Jersey( when learning to become a Methodist minister). She loved the island. This trip made an impression on her and she named the holiday bungalow Corbiere after the light house on Jersey. We still holiday regularly in the bungalow so we can visit friends and family in the area. I pop over every few weeks to keep the garden under control and enjoy the quiet of the countryside, long views and fresh air.
Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
There are so many sandy beaches to play on that we still haven’t tried them all as we keep having to go back to our favourites! There are lifeguards at Sutton, Mablethorpe and Skegness for swimming in the sea. We have had many lovely weeks here and have even had 17 here one summer by putting all the children in tents outside while the ladies had the beds! It turned into a holiday camp! There is masses of space outside and parking for several cars so it is good for meeting other members of the family. Just ask if you want to pitch a tent on the grassy area and to bring more children than beds and we'll work out a price.
O que faz essa propriedade ser única?
We hope that all our guests enjoy the clean and simple accommodation and the welcome item ( it changes from a bottle of Corbieres wine to biscuits! It's a bit random!) you find on arrival. We love the huge open spaces on the beach at Huttoft and the walk to cafes at Sutton on Sea or Anderby Creek. Lively resorts like Skegness and our favourite amusement arcade the ‘Lucky Strike’ are good for a rainy day. At the Lucky Strike you can enjoy a cuppa for £1 while the kids play on the 2p slots! Get them to save their coppers in advance. Meals there are about £4 on the chips/beans/sausage/egg theme.... always tasty and hot. If you go to the 'posh' cafe upstairs it was about £2.50 for a coffee! Be aware these are old prices as I haven't been able to update them this year! Just remember that Pete used to ‘shovel’ the coins as one of his jobs (the sheer amount of coins meant it was easier to weigh them than count them) …. so really only the arcade is the winner!
The wildflower meadow is looking better each year and it was described as beautiful by several guests last year. There's also a fair chance of seeing a barn owl silently fly over the field at the back at dusk. Pheasants and partridges visit. The swallows are nesting in the neighbour's shed so you can see them swooping in and out. Butterflies and bees love the flowering privet hedge and all the flowers. You can pick mint and borage for your Pimms if you search amongst the flowers!
