Family Friendly Cottage with Lg screen porch - 100 Ft of Direct Beach Access!

Our home has central heat and air with ceiling fans in every room. It has a king bed in the master bedroom, queen beds in the other two bedrooms with additional sleeping on a full size futon in the living area. The sun room and living room are separate and allow for those who may wish to read or visit while others watch the 50 inch tv in the sun room. The extra large screen porch offers comfortable seating for 8 and is the perfect place to enjoy a good book, great conversations or just to relax after a day on the beach or site seeing. Visitors to our home have given the porch a 5 star rating.

The house is located in a quiet part of the island and offers a wide uncrowded beach. And you are only a short drive away from award winning Charleston and Mt Pleasant.

For your convenience an outdoor shower has hot and cold water.

For families with children the Recreation Center on the island is a must. Full equipped playground, basket ball courts, tennis courts.

Kitchen towels are provided. Linens and bath towels are not provided.You may order these linens from IOP Cleaning & Mgt Co. Make sure you call ahead so they will have them delivered before your arrival.

Excellent cozy cottage. Clean. Very good amenities. Good beach chairs provided with plenty of beach towels. Outside shower is great - but the addition of a hose to rinse of the chairs and wagon would have been nice, too. The keyless entry with door code was awesome. Didn’t have to worry about losing the keys. Location is great. Short walk to the beach. I would suggest using 42nd Street Enterance. Easier to walk - has a mat over the sand walkway. Would definitely book again. Renting linens was very easy and no big deal.

The house was clean, a little musty as others have mentioned, but it is a beach house - A scent I associate with beach and good memories. The kitchen was well stocked, and the included beach towels were nice. I’ve never been to a rental where linens were not included, so I did not even think to order them. But of course, when I went back to look, the instructions were there and I had just missed them. By the time we arrived, it was too late to order them and get them there that day, so I had to go out and buy some. I spoke to several other friends and all agreed that lack of linens is odd despite all of us having heard of it being a possibility. Myself and another friend even have our own rental properties on VRBO, and neither of us ever considered that service. On the bright side, we have all new sheets for our own home. The beach access is very close and convenient. The shining star of the house is definitely the screened in porch as the mosquitoes were vicious.

A classic oasis on a happening isle

Last month I spent a week at this cottage with my wife, two children (3 and 6), and in-laws, and I couldn't be happier with our choice. The house is older and modest in size (especially in comparison to the endless mansions on the Isle), but very well maintained and comfortable. The massive covered porch was a huge highlight; despite having to chase around two rambunctious kids, I was able to find the time to doze on one of the lounges once or twice, much to my delight. The large front yard and oak-covered backyard created a perfect Southern vibe, and my six-year-old had enough space to play football and wiffleball.The location was also unbeatable. The path to the beach is just a few hundred feet away, and the park/playground are just over a mile, aka a very quick bike ride. And then there's Sullivan's Island (ten minutes) and Charleston (25 minutes).

Still the perfect getaway

I love staying at this property and truly feel like it is my home away from home. So comfortably appointed with the lovely porch and yard. I go for walks on the beach, which is so easily accessible from the house. Betty is always a wonderful host. I look forward to my next stay.

Enjoyed our stay! Very close to the beach and had everything we needed. Property was clean. Bringing our own sheets and towels was not ideal but it worked out okay.

Best Rental on IOP

For a variety of reasons, this is hands down the best rental on IOP. Ample space for an adults only or family friendly getaway. This beach cottage, actively managed by the actual owner, is THE epitome of value for your dollar. Been coming to IOP for 15 years. In the beginning, we were 2 or 3 families and we did the big house on the beach. Now the kids are grown and we return every year for an adults only getaway. This property has everything you need. 3 good size bedrooms. An awesome screen room that catches the perfect breeze. And the location, steps to the beach but a block off the main road, is ideal All this at a reasonable price. Cannot be beat on IOP

Beach getaway

This adorable beach retreat had everything we needed for a few days of relaxation at the beach. Just steps to the beach and well-equipped for a day on the beach. Even wagons to haul all the chairs and games supplied.

Family beach getaway

This was the perfect house for a much needed family getaway to the beach. We had our two adult sons and their girlfriends with us for the week. The house was roomy enough for the six of us, with plenty of places to relax, a beautiful yard, and was right across the road from a public beach access, which allowed us to run back and forth to the beach all day. Great house and great stay!

A perfect retrear

I love this property, having stayed there multiple times and already booked my next stay. Such a comfortable beach cottage with all the touches of home. I love the porch, where I enjoyed breakfast each morning. Lovely landscaped garden. Just steps away from beach access yet on a quiet street. An easy walk to the marina too. Great property owner—very responsive and caring. Highly recommended!

Great place to stay !

My family and I throughly our stay! The kitchen was well stocked with anything you may need to prepare a meal or bake . I was able to prepare meals with ease The property inside and out is well maintained. We enjoyed sitting our time sitting in the screen porch area The walk to the beach was convenient I highly recommend staying at this house ! My family and I would stay there again Thank you Betty ! We purchased this home in 1994 and knew it would be our place to relax and forget the stress life brings. When you come across the bridge onto the island you see a large expanse of ocean with cargo ships heading in and out of the harbor and shrimp boats trolling. Spectacular view every time. There is no better feeling than heading to the beach with our two grandchildren - 13 and 11 and watching them play in the water and sand. Maybe someday they too will bring their children back to enjoy.
