Dear Deb, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We genuinely appreciate it, as it helps us identify where improvements are needed. We are very sorry about the issues you encountered with the kitchen, particularly the cloth, dishwasher and freezer. This is certainly not the standard we expect from our cleaning team, and these points have been addressed with them. The same applies to the mould you found on the curtains and on one of the bedspreads, which we are also taking care of. Regarding the smell of damp on arrival, this was particularly surprising to us, as I had personally stayed at the house only a few days before your arrival and had not noticed it. Nevertheless, we investigated the cause and took steps to ensure the house is properly aired and checked before every arrival, especially during periods of extreme heat and temperature variation. There is also an electric kettle at the house, so we are sorry that it was not available to you as it should have been. We are checking what happened so that this does not occur again. Casa das Vinhas is a traditional family home and some of its character, furniture and embroidered linen reflect its history rather than that of a newly renovated modern villa. However, this should never be confused with a lack of cleanliness or proper maintenance, and your comments have helped us identify several details that need our attention. Mattress firmness is, of course, a matter of personal preference, but we also appreciate your feedback on this. Our only regret is that most of these issues were not brought to our attention during your stay. Had we known, we would have immediately arranged additional cleaning, replaced any linen or bedspread and provided the missing kettle so that you could enjoy the house as intended. Finally, I was particularly sorry to read that I seemed unconcerned about your feedback. I can assure you that this was certainly not the case. I took your comments seriously, responded to them in detail and have followed up on the points you raised. Guest feedback is extremely important to us, particularly when it allows us to improve. We are nevertheless very pleased that you enjoyed your time at Casa das Vinhas, as well as the pool, garden, views and spaciousness of the house, and we truly appreciate your kind words about our communication and helpfulness.
