Kalliberry Cycladic old cave with private pool and magnificent view

'Kalliberry' is a remote complex with 3 old stone houses, located in Andros island.
Dimosthenis, Catherine and Thanos started the Kalliberry project on 2014. Your hosts are 3 friends, 3 travelers of the world, who decided to leave Athens and start a new life in this beautiful Cycladic island.
We fully renovated an old house, the Cave, by keeping all those elements that highlight its traditional character and its 'bond' with mother earth, in combination with a touch of vintage decoration.
Our positive energy and our love for creation, in combination with personal aesthetic and passion for details, led to the creation of a beautiful remote place. Lots of infinity view spaces and cozy spots to chill out. You can enjoy the house and wander on the green surroundings, relax in the outdoor sofa , lie down on the sunbeds by the pool or on the large hammock and feel the wind from the north, practice yoga admiring the infinity view in special mattresses provided by us, pick up fresh vegetables from our garden for your salad, use the stone barbecue, or simply take a drink in the magnificent sunset and enjoy the breathtaking view by the pool. The pool is open from the end of April until the end of October.
Cave has one bedroom with king size bed, one cozy bedroom with double bed, a big bathroom with a huge bathtub, a fully equipped kitchen and a sitting room.
The outside area has a big veranda with a huge sofa and a big coffee table, a dinning table with wooden chairs, the cozy pool with two wooden sun beds, a swing close to the pool and a huge hammock.
Our property is isolated from the busy crowd, located in the northern part of the island, 20 minutes driving from Gavrio port.

A car is needed to explore Andros, as our island is big and has fantastic beaches on road and off road. For our guests, and after their request, we have 2 rental cars, 2 SUVs. Inform us if you are interested in.

Wunderschön!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit im Kaliberry Cave House! Die 3 Vermieter haben einen wunderbaren Ort geschaffen. Liebevoll eingerichtet und schöne Plätze zum Verweilen und Entspannen, Ruhe pur mit tollem Blick auf die Berge und das Meer! Sehr praktisch war auch, dass wir einen SUV direkt von den Vermietern nur für die Tage, die wir wollten, leihen konnten. Die 3 stehen einem mit Rat zur Seite und haben super Tipps zum Erkunden der Insel. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

A perfect mix of traditional & hip island life

My husband and I had three relaxing and adventurous days at Kalliberry in northern Andros. It is definitely off the beaten path and that makes it even more special. Our three hosts have put their heart and creative zest into the stable/cave house. Every little detail was thought through! Is it too much to mention that the water pressure was superb? We had the best showers in all of our travels through Greece! Make sure to get home in time for the sunsets - stunning! We had fresh figs from the tree on the patio. We had goats on the mountains. We had exciting dirt road drives up the mountain. We had it all and loved it!

Liebenswürdige Gastgebende, ein mit viel Liebe zum Detail gemütlich eingerichtetes Haus, fantastische Aussichten aufs Meer und die Landschaft, dramatische Sonnenuntergänge, ein fantastischer Sternenhimmel, völlige Ruhe - wir können Kalliberry nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Un lieu exceptionnel

Kalliberry est un lieu enchanteur géré par des hôtes d'une extrême gentillesse. Le logement est parfaitement aménagé et la cuisine très bien équipée. La présence de moustiquaire permet de dormir les fenêtres ouvertes, ce qui est très agréable car il n'y a aucun bruit, à part celui de la brise et de quelques chèvres... La terrasse extérieure est chaleureuse, très confortable et permet d'observer des couchers de soleil exceptionnels. Kalliberry nous manque déjà!

Wer Ruhe sucht, wird die Natur in Kalliberry hören. Wer Erholung braucht, kann in Kalliberry zu sich finden. Wer Freundlichkeit möchte, wird von dieser in Kalliberry überschüttet. Kalliberry ist ein magischer Ort wegen der Lage, wegen der unglaublich schönen Ausstattung, wegen der Katzen, dem Hund und der Hühner, aber vor allem wegen Katerina, Thanos und Dimos, die diesen Ort so liebevoll pflegen und Gästen daran teilhaben lassen. Erholsamer Urlaub in der Natur

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit. Die Ruhe dort ist einfach unbeschreiblich schön. Perfekt um einmal dem stressigen Alltag zu entfliehen. Die Straße dorthin ist zwar sehr abenteuerlich aber die tolle Aussicht und die Ruhe machen dies wieder gut 😊 Besonders niedlich waren auch die dort lebenden Katzen. Wir werden sie vermissen.

Wunderbar gelegen in einer ohrenbetäubenden Stille

Das Ferienhaus ist in einer einmaligen ruhigen Lage, die sprachlos macht. Der schönste Platz ist der auf der Terrasse mit Blick nach Evia. Außer Schafen, Ziegen, Vögeln (Bienenfresser) und das Summen der Bienen ist absolut nichts zu hören. Das Haus ist einfach und mit allem Notwendigem ausgestattet. Die Betten sind bequem und das Haus ist sauber. Der schöne und gepflegte Garten gibt das Sahnehäubchen für einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Si vous lisez ce commentaire, juste un conseil : RÉSERVEZ MAINTENANT !! Nous avons séjourné 1 semaine dans la maison de Kalliberry, et c’est indéniablement la plus belle location que nous ayons jamais faite! Le cadre est tellement relaxant, cette maison devrait être prescrite comme anti-dépresseur : le coucher de soleil, la piscine, le silence, les petites attentions de nos hôtes (légumes du jardin, miel etc...) ont rendu notre séjour parfait ! Merci de nous avoir permis de profiter de votre belle maison, avec une mention spéciale pour les petits chatons qui nous manquent beaucoup! À bientôt, nous espérons! Marie et Luc

Most awesome relaxing holiday EVER!

Everything about Kalliberry was just amazing and more than we could ever have imagined! Perfect in every sense. Dimos, Katerina and Thanos were so friendly and helpful and their pets (gorgeous cats and a beautiful dog) were just so cute. The views were out of this world and we loved sitting watching the sunset. At night the sky was so clear we couldn’t believe the amount of stars we could see, just so beautiful. Because of the remote location there was no noise pollution, just the beautiful sound of crickets and the odd sheep or goat on the hillside. We have always said that we wouldn’t go back to a holiday destination as the world is a big place and we want to explore it, but we take those words back as we will 100% be going back to Kalliberry xx Dimos, Katerina, Thanos, we will be back xxxx love from Joolz and Karl xx

Traumwoche in einer anderen Welt

Hier haben wir Ruhe und Erholung gefunden fern vom Massentourismus . Ein ganz und gar magischer Ort mit fantastischem Ausblick. Das kleine, einer Berghöhle gleichenden Farmhaus, lässt einen gemütlich und unendlich geborgen fühlen. Alles wurde von den herzlichen Besitzern mit großer Liebe und viel Arbeit restauriert, renoviert und dekoriert. Auf der Veranda zu sitzen oder in der Hängematte zu liegen, den Geräuschen der Natur zu lauschen und dabei aufs Meer zu schauen ist atemberaubend schön. Im Pool findet man wunderbare Abkühlung. Dieses Schmuckstück kann man nicht mit Sternen bewerten!

Enchanting

We just loved our stay at Kalinerry! The hosts were helpful and friendly and cottage is lovely, rustic and full of character. The pool is a welcome addition during the hot afternoons. However the icing on the cake is the views and the sunsets which were mesmerising!!! Had a wonderful week and highly recommend.

Magical rural idyll.

If you are looking to get away from everyday life with nothing but goat bells, butterflies, giant toads and a fabulous view for company then Kalliberry is it. Dimos was great. Friendly, helpful but discreet. We initially found some of the roads to the remote beaches scary but by the end were driving almost like locals. Eferesto!

The perfect get away

It was the most beautiful place we have ever stayed at. Gorgeous house, amazing views / sunsets. Divine hosts - so warm and friendly and helpful. Andros island is stunningly beautiful and the location of Kalliberry was perfect, close to some amazing , pristine beaches. It was the most perfect holiday for us- I hope we can come back one day. We left feeling we had made some good , new friends

Very unique experience for those seeking an alternative to the typical tourist spots

Overall the property was exactly as pictured with lovely grounds and breathtaking views. The hosts were very pleasant and accommodating. I was travelling with a friend on a tour of a few locations in Greece and Andros was a very interesting alternative to the more popular spots like Athens, Santorini and Mykonos. We really wanted to experience the non touristy side of Greece and try some of the great hiking trails we read about that are all over the island. There is only one thing I wish we had known before deciding to book this property - which would have made the trip to Andros much less stressful... There are mainly dirt and gravel roads, without any signs or streetlights, in order to get to the property. This means renting a (manual transmission) vehicle to get there (or anywhere else you want to visit) and travelling on steep and narrow winding roads - often uphill and with a steep cliff on one side with no guard rails. You MUST be a very confident driver, with plenty of experience with driving a stick or you can really get into trouble quickly. It is also suggested that you rent a 4x4, as there were many "roads" the GPS will direct you to take that are incredibly rocky and not suitable at all for a regular car. And as there are no streetlights, and the ferries often run late, I suggest you do all you can to get to the property before dark because it's even harder to navigate those roads in the dark. Also this property was on the opposite side of the island as most of the bigger towns, sights and restaurants, so for us, who were not that confident with the driving, really limited where we wanted to travel to in order to get the most of what seemed like it would have been amazing things to experience. As long as you are completely comfortable driving stick, and rent an appropriate 4x4 vehicle to get around in, I 100% recommend visiting this excellent spot and wonderful accommodation. The views are truly outstanding and if your idea of a holiday is relaxing in the gorgeous countryside and watching the sunset from your private pool or the cozy hammock, this is the place for you.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt in Kaliberry sehr genossen. Die Landschaft und die Stille, die Sonnen auf,- und Untergänge, und die wunderschöne mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtete Wohnung und die Freundlichkeit von Katerina, Dimos und Thanos. Es war wirklich phantastisch, noch schöner als auf den Bildern. Sehr gefreut haben wir auch über die guten Gespräche mit unseren Vermietern. Eine unvergesslich schöne Zeit. Stunning! One of our best holidays ever.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kallibery. Our hosts, Dimos, Katerina and Thanos could not have been kinder or more helpful. And even better we had a practical demonstration on making honey, with a tasting too! Where else could you have such an interesting stay! The house is as perfect as the photos suggest. The inside and outside are so well designed and charmingly decorated. There is so much space for lounging and looking at the spectacular view - the sunsets are marvellous. And the pool is brilliant, we spent many happy times going for a cooling dip before chilling out again on the hammock or the sofas. The amount of shade offered is also fantastic - both of us like to be in the shade during the hottest part of the day and the design of the outside made it easy and pleasant to get out of the sun - shady but not gloomy. Another plus is the peace and quiet - virtually no traffic of any sort goes past. What we really needed was rest, and this is exactly what we got! The house is also well located for local beaches and shopping and restaurants in Gavrio and Batsi. We chose Kalliberry to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary, and we couldn't have made a better choice!

Un séjour exceptionnel dans un endroit merveilleux

Nous avions du mal à croire en la beauté des photos de présentation, pourtant le paysage magnifique, l'originalité et le talent de la décoration, nous ont époustouflé et permis de vivre un séjour exceptionnel, agrémenté par la gentillesse de nos hôtes à la fois disponibles et discrets, qui nous ont même fait participer à une fête locale. Loin, très loin du tourisme de masse, nous avons pu découvrir des criques charmantes et une ile authentique. La terrasse et le jardin offrent le bonheur de moments de sérénité et de plaisir devant la beauté de l'unité de la mer, de la campagne et des collines, bercé par le vent.
