When you book BayouChateau, you get the entire house to yourself, including the deck and covered parking space for two vehicles (guests can park free at Bouligny Plaza). Our guests love the unique location of our property, tucked away on the bayou and just one block from Main Street. You won't find anything like it in the area. And with no other guests the share space with, you'll have complete privacy and a more affordable alternative to a hotel. Multiple night stays offer the best value, but one-night bookings are also welcome. Please note that the cleaning fee is the same regardless of the length of your stay.

We like to meet our guests upon arrival to answer any questions they may have about the area. We're also available by phone 24/7, and although we do not reside on the property, you can count on us for any assistance you might need.

Location is everything, and BayouChateau has the best spot in town. As the heart of downtown New Iberia, there's always something happening here, from festivals and events to charming shops, bars, restaurants, and nightclubs. It's all just a few minutes away on foot, and your guests can park for free at the nearby Bouligny Plaza. Other major attractions are just a short 15-minute drive away, and Uber and taxi services are available. Don't forget to check out the Tabasco Factory and Jungle Gardens, just 9 miles away. #feedyoursoul

We had a delightful stay in New Iberia at The Bayou Chateau (our pup agreed). Clean, comfy and a beautiful location on the bayou. Mickey and Tiffany are most personable and thoughtful hosts. We couldn't ask for more.

Great place, great location

Perfect location, perfect property. Good communication with the host and catered to our arrival schedule. Thank you! ~~ The house was placed with the Bayou in the backyard and the downtown area right outside the front door. It had perfect access to all the downtown shops and dining spots. I absolutely loved the chateau and the city! The house was well accommodating with many different items in case you forgot to pack some. We want to come back again one day for a longer stay.!

Fantastic Spot

This place could not be more charming! The space was perfect for my husband and me, and all of the whimsical touches were delightful. The proximity to downtown New Iberia does not get any better, and the deck was a great place to relax. The host was welcoming, friendly, and informative. Overall, we enjoyed our stay tremendously!

6 year anniversary get away

Wonderful place! This place had all the added touches. They thought of everything. Very relaxing to sit out on the deck and enjoy wine/charcuterie. Great coffee also enjoyed at sunrise. Highly recommended!

Fabulous, Unique, Relaxing stay on the Bayou

Loved everything about this stay. Such a beautiful place with special touches everywhere. All the amenities you need plus walkable to restaurants, bars, and local attractions. We had such a great time fishing right out back (thanks for the pole loan). Excellent communication and friendliness from the owners. I would love to come back here in the future.

Absolutely adorable!

It is perfect place to stay in south LA. Right on the Bayou and walking distance to local restaurants with fabulous food. It's driving distance to other towns so a prefect place for day trips. I would highly recommend this adorable place.

Cute place, convenient to most everything.

The little house was really cute and mostly comfortable. Plenty of good places to eat close by. The owners are very friendly. The check in was not very easy. The email that I received said that check in was at 2PM. We got there and the place was not open and the key was not where it was stated it would be in the email. I texted the owner, and after 15 or 20 minutes we found keys, (only to find out they were not for us), and went in. Shortly after, the owner sent me a text that he unlocked the door with his phone. Though the stools at the breakfast bar are really cute to look at, you cannot sit on them for more than just a minute or so. They are just too uncomfortable. Also the air conditioning unit is undersized for the property and with it reaching 90 degrees outside, it was extremely warm all during the day. Fortunately, it was able to keep the place cool at night. All in all, we were able to get a couple of days of relaxation in, which was our ultimate goal.

New Year's Day get-away

The little Chateau is so pretty, beautifully done to feel homey. Loved the way they have decorated. Comfortable all the way around. The only downside was the double bed when we sleep in a king. So the two of us were pretty cozy. Loved New Iberia. Hope to return.

Great location and accommodations in the heart of New Iberia.

The property was located on the bayou in the heart of New Iberia close to restaurants, bars and shopping. The actual building was very graciously appointed with comfortable furniture, bed, TV and internet. There is a lovely porch behind the building overlooking the bayou with comfortable furniture and a table top patio heater to warm you on a cold night. Underneath the porch is ample parking for 2 cars. Everything was perfectly decorated with an homage to the surrounding area using cypress, flowers, and birds of the area. It was all done in excellent taste. Definitely a 5 star stay. Mickey was a wonderful host.

Wonderful Experience

Everything was absolutely perfect! The owner was nothing short of amazing! We were in town to bring our fur baby to LSU. We had vehicle issues on the way down, had to have a family member come from home (Arkansas) to get our vehicle. Mickey was more than accommodating! He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a positive one! We will definitely be back for an actual vacation! The units were stunning! Thank you so much for making our experience a great one! We look forward to seeing you again soon!

Very helpful hosts

We loved staying at this unique property. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed and more. We had trouble with the cable vision and the owners came over and helped with that. That is above and beyond I think. Thank y'all!

Simply amazing!!

Words and pictures do not do this place justice. The property is in an amazing location with a great deck overlooking Bayou Teche. We were walking distance to bars, restaurants and everything downtown New Iberia has to offer. The owners were amazing, friendly and responsive. Couldn't have asked for kinder people. Definitely glad we chose this place.

Unique family friendly experience

We’ve done beaches, we’ve done camping, we wanted to do something unique and fun. This destination was perfect! Swamp tours, unique food, great tour destinations (champagne swamp tours, Tabasco factory, jungle garden, kart ranch…all within short distances from this rental!). It was awesome!

South Louisiana Luxury

This B&B was immaculate! The design/style is lovely. The property owners have thought of everything! It is centrally located for South Louisiana drives or simply for touring New Iberia. We definitely intend to stay here again!

Great, restful spot

Very happy with our stay. Would return. Photos are accurate. Very sweet spot. Only negative... We were going to grill one night and the grill is not in great shape. It's rusted out and gross. We threw the steaks and salmon in the freezer and went out instead.

Being from New Iberia and loving the bayou it has been a dream to own a place on the Bayou. Although we don't live at our rental and don't live on the bayou, for now we still get to enjoy it. I met my wife as a referral. If your a guest I can explain. She is an amazing and incredibly hard-working woman who after a few months dating and taking her out on my airboat, we were married at the Bass Pro shop in Branson. We both like the outdoors, hunting, fishing, scuba, diving, and repurposing things we find or buy from all over.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

This property was originally owned by my Grandfathers Brother and purchased by us from his niece. He built it in the late 1940's and ran an electrical supply business from it. Then it was rented to Roses Dental Lab for many years until it was closed due to retirement. For several years after that it was rented by the people as a camp to play cards and Dominoes. It was in rough shape when we acquired it and took about 8 months of work to remodel it. It was a fun project for the wife and I. It evolved into a Vacation Rental after we purchased it and went through several ideas of what it could be. We love to go there when it isn't being rented, to have friends over, and cook out. We are constantly looking for unique ways to decorate and make it more enjoyable for our guest. Its also a great place to have available for friends and family stay when they are visiting from out of town.

Due to the limited interactions staff have with guests, and lack of shared amenities and public common areas in contrast to many other lodging options". Vacation Rentals are completely separated and completely independent, featuring kitchens and other exclusive amenities for families. This is a property is located downtown on the Bayou and is very private. It is its own single unit, not a condo, not a hotel, and doesn't share bathrooms like some B & Bs. You will be the only guest occupying this private rental property. The owners do not live on site, but are easily accessible and can be contacted for information, directions, and help if needed.
