Bear's Den - Mount Snow Townhome - w/ Heated Pool!

The Space
Welcome to the recently renovated rustic condo/townhouse at Mount Snow's Bear Crossing in beautiful and convenient southern VT. Enjoy 1 master bedroom (Queen), 1 bedroom with a full sized bed, a sleep loft (1 twin bed, additional twin mattress on floor & small pullout sofa) and living room with couches and a queen sized air mattress to accommodate a 7th or 8th guest. There are 2 full bathrooms on the first level and an additional half bath on the 2nd level.

The unit has a wood burning fireplace (wood delivered to your door), mud room, new appliances, a washer/dryer, copper countertops, fully equipped kitchen, small deck with gas grill, fresh linens and towels, WIFI, Roku, board games and everything you need to have a great stay on the mountain.

Bear Crossing features a ski down trail (weather permitting) maintained by Mount Snow, a club room with pool table, ping pong and fireplace and a gym with basic equipment. In the summer, there is a heated outdoor pool and Har-Tru Tennis Courts.

Guest Access

Full access to the townhouse aside from the owner's closet. Guests will be given a lockbox code that is good for the length of their stay.

I also own and have recently renovated the townhome next door, so let me know if you have a bigger group (or friends who heard about your great trip who also want to come!) and are interested in renting both side-by-side units.

The Neighborhood

The West Dover and Wilmington areas have lots to do beyond skiing including, snow tubing, ice skating, hiking, snow shoeing, farm tours, wine and cheese tastings, outlet shopping and fine dining. You truly will feel as though you're in the heart of VT even though you're less than an hour from the New York or Massachusetts borders. You're in an excellent location to take day trips to near by towns including Brattleboro (25 miles), Bennington (26 miles), Putney (26 miles), Manchester (34 miles) and Weston (35 miles).

Getting Around

Moover Shuttle picks up at Bear Crossing most days every 30 minutes during ski hours on the weekends and parking is easy on the weekends. Please check schedule online for specific pickup times.

*Additional cleaning fee will be added to stays of 1 month or longer (typically $50-$100 depending on amount of guests, exact length, etc.)

Great Stay

We enjoyed our stay here. We love coming to Mount Snow and staying in this neighborhood. Great proximity to mountain and fun ski home trail. House was very clean and well stocked. Would highly recommend!

Second Stay at Polar Bear

This was my 2nd stay on MLK weekend. Place has everything you need. Close to everything and the Mooover is so awesome to not have to drove to mountain at all. Would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay!

We stayed at Matt’s place for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped unit. 5 minutes from the base. Matt was extremely responsive to our questions before and during our stay. We will be back for sure!

Family refreshment

Matt did a fabulous job communicating before our arrival, when we arrived, and during our entire stay! We found accommodations fantastic! Our family of seven was so comfortable- enjoying the fireplace, common living spaces,and exceptionally comfortable beds! Clean, comfortable and warm

We had a great weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Close to the mountain for skiing. The only two things that bothered me (only slightly) was the difficulty parking because the snow hadn't been plowed back far enough and you couldn't ski right up to the condo, there was a little bit of a trek from the end of the trail. The boys enjoyed using the clubhouse. All the amenities in the condo were great.

Long on comfort and short ride to the mountain

While one of the recliners was in need of repair the rest of the condo was fully functional and comfortable. The short ride to the Carintha lift is a big plus and a liesurely 15 min to Wilmington to procure supplies and a visit to the sports friendly Maple Leaf Tavern made this location ideal.

Perfect spot for Mount Snow skiing!

Great spot to hit the slopes. Communication was easy. Kitchen fully stocked. Very clean. Great fireplace to play games in front of at night. Super comfy reclining sofa. This is a 3 floor condo. 2 Main bedrooms are downstairs and loft for the kids was upstairs. Would rent again!

Skiing in VT

Good access for phone and wifi. Smart TV allowed use of my YouTube account. Couldn't get regular TV stations as noted in manual, but I'm technologically challenged.Huge amount of kitchen utensils and gadgets. Particularly nice was a good burr coffee grinder. We bring our own beans and usually have to use a hand grinder we bring along.Nice place convenient to the mountains.

Amenities Galore

A delightful surprise awaits summer visitors to this rental. Until Labor Day, Bear’s Den includes full access to a sparkling swimming pool- with plenty of umbrella-covered, clean tables, plus chairs, and loungers. Up the stairs from the pool is a handsome community “home” that includes a ping pong table, pool table, and exercise equipment. In winter, you’ll likely find the nice fireplace inside and fire pit outside welcome extras. On the other side of the community home is a single, perfectly kept brushed clay tennis court. We used all but the community room fireplaces and all were in perfect condition. Matt, the property host could not be more responsive. He answered our few questions immediately. After the first day we did not need to make contact— experienced zero issues. The condo unit is fine— a bit more ski lodge-type accommodations. It has a porch ready with firewood, which would be great for the ski visitors. The entry includes a small “mud room” so that tracking-in would be no problem— and that is fine in any season. Everything in the condo works. Supplies were in place.

Green Mountain townhouse

Very nice townhouse with nice amenities and very clean. Nearby hiking in Jamaica State park was a great activity for the summer.

Great response, cute unit

Matt couldn't have been more accommodating or responsive. He was super helpful with questions and we were able to get in with no issue. Having multiple coffee machines and lots of kitchen extras (syrup, S/P, dressings) sounds like a little thing but is SO HELPFUL in a rental! The only thing--ski "in" is a little complicated. Definitely do your research first as the ski "in" trail only takes you into the complex and then you need to wind your way around the roads or through people's backyards (if there's enough snow!). We risked it the first day and skied over rocks (totally our choice) and then got 18" of snow and could ski down the next day and x-country skied through people's backyards. FYI--it's hard to find on the map but you have to take the Carinthia area lift to Fool's Gold and there there's a SMALL sign on fool's gold that says "to bear crossing area"--just found it confusing to figure out from the maps.

Wonderful stay

The property was cozy but large enough for 4 adults and 3 children to live comfortably. The condo had everything that we needed to enjoy a few days in the Vermont Mountains. The location was outstanding. We were across the street from the Moover shuttle bus that got us to the slopes in 10 minutes without dealing with a parking hassle

Perfect ski condo

The property was amazing. Loved the decor and layout of the condo. It’s perfect for a ski family so close to Mount Snow! There were only 4 of us but could easily fit 7 or 8 comfortably ! The host was amazing and was in call for anything we needed !

Pleasant and easy from start to finish.

This is a charming property with a responsive, thoughtful owner. All instructions were detailed and clear, the place was perfectly equipped, and the condo itself was great. I would rent this place again, and would recommend it to others. Fireplace had excellent updraft.

West Dover VT

We stayed at Matt's place for a few days during a visit to Vermont. The condo has great character and was very clean. Everything in the condo worked as expected and was close to everything we wanted to do.

Perfect condo for a long, winter weekend in the mountains.

This condo has a secluded, cabin in the woods feel- little stream under the deck and woodsy decor, but you're right at the base of the mountain and a few minutes drive to restaurants. We had everything we needed and more to keep 4 kids entertained so the adults could have fun, too. Hooked up tvs, movies, games, the loft set up.... Thanks again for everything, Matt! We can't wait to go back!

Very convenient and cosy.

The house was ideal for my family of two couples and two children. It had all the facilities we needed and we found the cupboards well stocked with many essential items which helped when we first arrived. The house was nice and warm and great to return to after a hard day on the slopes.

I love to travel and although I appreciate the energy and convenience of being close to a major city, I always feel at home when I'm closer to nature. I enjoy great food, wine and new experiences. When in VT, I love to snowboard, go to the lake, take day trips to new places and hike. I have completed multi-day hikes on the Appalachian Trail in 6 States. I was planning on doing all 13, but taking a break with two little kids at home who I spend most of my free time with.

I grew up in New England and have always loved VT! The Dover and Wilmington area is so charming and easy to get to from Boston and New York. As soon as I arrive at my townhome, I instantly feel relaxed, especially after throwing a couple of logs on the fire. As someone who loves to snowboard and hike, it's amazing having the ski down / hiking trail steps from the unit. The club room in the winter and pool, tennis courts and close by golfing is great for when the snow melts away.

I wish I could get up to VT more weekends than I do, however I really enjoy sharing my home with the VRBO Community when I can't make it up. I'm confident you'll have enjoy the area and experience as much as I do!

All the charm of a cabin with all the convinces and amenities of a Townhouse Complex. I love being close enough to the mountain action with the peace and tranquility of being 1 mile away from the chaos when I'm ready to unwind.
