Luxury penthouse with magnificent bay view by the Oslofjord

A modern penthouse apartment on the waterfront with stunning sea views. The open plan living area is bright and airy with it's high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows facing south, west and north. A large patio door further extends the living room out onto a 15 m² balcony overlooking the fjord and the adjacent marina.

The apartment is located on the 4th floor in one of eleven terraced buildings completed in November 2010. The area is secluded from traffic and other residential areas.

Skippered sailing trips can be arranged directly from the property. Contact owner for details and rates.


Museums and historical sights: Vestfold county includes a variety of great historical sights and museums including:

- Edvard Munch's House in Åsgårdstrand.
- Horten Automobile museum.
- The Norwegian Navy Museum in Horten.
- Preus museum of photography in Horten.
- Midgard Historical Centre in Horten.
- Borrehaugene National Park (Scandinavia's largest Viking graveyard) in Horten.
- Slottsfjellet (Scandinavia's largest ruin park) in Tønsberg.

Sailing and boating:

If you prefer a day of sailing and is not comfortable maneuvering big boats yourself, the owner can arrange skippered yacht sailing on a 37' sail boat directly from the marina. Inquiries must be made at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. Please contact owner for details and rates.

Perfect place to be

The main room of the penthouse is extremely spacious – the pictures really don’t show this – and it has a great balcony with a view to the fjord. It is fully equipped and very tastefully arranged, there is one supermarket nearby and underground parking, where Steinar awaited us. Bathing places are nearby, and the whole complex of buildings is very cleverly constructed, so it doesn’t feel cramped, with small pools and lots of green. Communication was very easy, we were greeted with sweets and fruits in the fridge, which was a nice touch. Special thanks to Steinar for pointing out Verdens Ende as a must-see destination. It is! We had a great week with swimming and lots of sun, trips to Oslo, Tonsberg and Verdens Ende. We definitely ponder a return in the not too distant future.

Best vacation we have ever experienced!

Steinar and Riitta met us on arrival with Steinar providing intro to the facility and area. His outgoing personality and knowledge of the area guided us on our daily trips for the next week, primarily the Viking Trail and Drammen for shopping. The highlight of our visit was the one day sailing charter with Steinar on his 37 ft luxury sailboat, the Tuuli. We not only learned some basics of sailing from this experienced sailor but he answered our hundreds of questions about Norway. My wife and I are in the late 70’s and I have a mobility handicap. Steinar was considerate of this all day and what a thrill to actually sail the boat for a prolonged period. This day alone, with pictures, is a lifetime highlight of all our travels. Eine traumhaft schöne, ruhige Wohnung mit wundervollem Ausblick auf einen Nebenarm des Oslofjords

Wir haben den dreiwöchigen Aufenthalt täglich genossen, auch bei schlechtem Wetter. Der überaus freundliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeber, der uns mit einer köstlichen Überraschung im Kühlschrank der mehr als komplett ausgestatteten Küche überraschte war uns von Anfang an sehr sympathisch. Mit dem eigenen Auto angereist, haben wir viele interessante Ausflüge unternommen. Wäre das Wetter noch besser gewesen, wären es noch mehr gewesen; insbesondere auch in die Telemark und an den dortigen namensgleichen Kanal. Mehrere Ausflüge nach Oslo sowie ans Meer nach "Verdens Ende" - also ans "Ende der Welt" haben uns die Kultur und Geschichte Norwegens sowie die Landschaft Südnorwegens näher gebracht. Unsere essenstechnisch überwiegende Selbstversorgung war durch ein gutes und preislich angemessenes Angebot des 250 m entfernt gelegenen Supermarktes "KIWI" mehr als gesichert. Wir würden auf jeden Fall erneut von dem gemütlichen Aufenthalt in dieser Wohnung Gebrauch machen, vorausgesetzt, unsere künftige Gesundheit lässt das in unserem Alter (78 und 79 Jahre) zu. Wen eine relativ weiche Matratze im Schlafzimmer nicht stört, dem können wir diese Wohnung uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Die Ankunft war schon ein Erlebnis

Unser Vermieter hat uns sehr freundlich empfangen. Beim Anblick dieser tollen Wohnung standen mir schon die Tränen in den Augen. Der Ausblick auf den Fjord von der Terrasse ist einmalig. Die Wohnung ist ein Traum. Alles was das Herz begehrt hat diese Wohnung. Dazu noch der Garagenplatz. Einkaufsmöglichkeit fussläufig, ein Badeplatz vor der Haustür und eine Ruhe. Es war jeden Euro wert.

Tolle Stadtwohnung in der Nähe von Oslo

Wie schon geschrieben, wurden wir sehr nett von Steinar empfang und in die Wohnung und die Wohnanlage eingewiesen. Man fühlt sich sofort zu Hause, denn die Wohnung ist sehr schön eingerichtet und man kann den herrlichen Blick uneingeschränkt genießen. Da die Ausstattung dem Inserat entspricht und ein Kiwi nur ein paar Meter weg ist, ist es sehr gut möglich sich selbst zu versorgen. Man kann direkt vor dem Haus baden gehen, was im Sommer toll ist. Leider ist es nicht mehr möglich vor Ort ein Boot zu leihen. Die Anlage insgesamt ist sehr ruhig, gepflegt und scheinbar vor allem von Rentern bewohnt. Von der Wohnung aus kann man sehr schöne Ausflüge unternehmen, Oslo ist gut mit dem Zug zu erreichen, leider ist der Pendlerparkplatz nur mit Berechtigungsausweis zu nutzen. Das Midgard Vikingsenter in Borre ist sehr empfehlenswert, ebenso wie ein Tagesausflug entlang der 308 bis Verdens End. Im Hinterland gibt es nahe Kongsberg ein Silberbergwerk, das man besichtigen kann und die Landschaft dort ist toll. Wir würden die Wohnung auf jeden Fall als Basis für Ausflüge am Oslofjord weiterempfehlen.

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt

Familienurlaub in die Natur von Norwegen

Zweiter Aufenthalt

Wir waren bereits vor 6 Jahren einmal in dem Apartment, ebenfalls mit der Familie und auch im Oktober. Wir waren auch diesmal rundum zufrieden und können es sehr weiterempfehlen. Die Aussicht auf den Fjord ist einfach toll. Es muss noch schöner im Sommer bzw. im weißen Winter sein!

Sande Condo Review

The condo is lovely and more importantly, is as advertised. Best equipped kitchen I have ever seen in my history of rental properties. Beds are very comfortable. While there, we did not require heat or air conditioning. TV sound left something to be desired. Unit has a Sound Bar, but I had no idea how to use. Parking was somewhat challenging, but I attribute my difficulties to my age.

Hervorragende Unterkunft

Alles war super, jedoch viel zu schnell vorbei! Die Unterkunft ist fantastisch (große Terrasse mit tollem Blick auf den Fjord; sehr saubere Unterkunft; sehr gut ausgestattete Küche; großes Bad…). Wir waren hier zu fünft (2E+3K) und jeden Tag im Fjord baden! Vielen Dank noch einmal für die schöne Zeit!!

Schöne Wohnung für großartigen Aufenthalt

Die Kommunikation mit dem Eigentümer war hervorragend. Der Eigentümer hat uns persönlich einen Tiefgaragenplatz neben dem Aufzug zugewiesen. Die Wohnung präsentierte sich hell, warm und sauber. Die großen Fenster gaben Blicke auf das Wasser und einen kleinen Badestrand frei. Alle Geräte und Einbauten waren praktisch und funktionierten hervorragend. So kamen wir nach einem Ausflug stets gerne zurück und genossen die vorhandenen Bequemlichkeiten. Die Anlage verfügt über Container zur Mülltrennung. Dass in der Umgebung noch weiter gebaut wird stört nicht wirklich. Es ist in und um die Wohnung sehr ruhig. Absolut empfehlenswert hier zu wohnen.

Absolutely fabulous apartment with stunning scenary. An extremely relaxing holiday.

We stayed at Steinar and Riitta's apartment as a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children boy aged 6 and girl aged 10) and have had the most amazing family holiday making lots of memories. As hosts, Steinar and Riitta are fabulous. Great communication from start to finish and it was great to know that in a unfamiliar country help was on hand if we needed it. We did not arrive at the apartment until the early hours of the morning due to airline delays, however the directions from Torp airport to the apartment made it easy to find and Riitta was waiting for us upon our arrival to show us around. Although it was a shame not to see the scenery as we drove to the aipartment due to it being very late at the night, the view that awaited us the following morning was breath-taking. The views across the Fjord are magnificent and the large windows in the apartment make it a really pleasurable experience just to sit and watch the world go by! The apartment itself was absolutely spot-on. There was everything you could possibly require including lots of English TV channels which made my boys happy as they were able to watch lots of English football!! The whole set up of the apartment was perfect - lots of space and great views - it made for a very relaxing holiday which was perfect. The outdoor area to the apartments is really well kept and very tidy. There are a few different parks for the children to play on and lots of different places to jump in the water and swim. Luckily we had great weather and my children made full use of the little beach areas and had a fabulous time in the water. It was teeming with sea life which I wasn't expecting. There are two supermarkets close by - a Coop and Kiwi. We used both but Kiwi mainly as it is walking distance and I felt is was cheaper than the Coop. Kiwi had a great selection of everything and the staff were lovely. The only thing we felt was missing was perhaps a little café/bar. There is one on the Marina but it never appeared to be open as we past. It was not however a massive problem but the complex of apartments is definitely big enough to warrant one. We found the apartment a great base to explore the incredibly beautiful place Norway is and I don't think I have ever appreciated how relaxing water is. To drive the coastal road to Drammen, although longer than taking the motorway, was a pleasure in itself - so pretty. We would return to the apartment in a heartbeat and I would recommend it to anyone.

Absolutely beautiful Vacation!

I would just like to say how much I appreciate Steinar and Riitta for a wonderful experience in Norway. Your home is absolutely beautiful and everything about our stay was awesome! Steinar has been incredible with his communication style, making every questioned we had answered. His hospitality was so nice, and we truly appreciate you for making our trip so special. STUNNING LOCATION

This beautiful apartment is in a delightful location on the edge of a fjord. The overall development is not complete and there are on-going building works but these were non-intrusive and did not spoil our stay. The flat was, in fact, very quiet and, if that's what visitors want, then it's fine. If they are looking for entertainment, etc, in the immediate vicinity, then they are at the wrong place! There is a Sports Bar (which we did not visit) and a very well-stocked supermarket. In better weather than we had, visitors could make use of the small man-made beach and, with courage, swim in the fjord! (it's VERY cold). We were two couples and, in all honesty, the flat is not really suitable for two couples: there is only one 'family' bathroom (hence only one toilet) and the second bedroom is very small with no wardrobe, shelving or surfaces. Our friends had that room and they had to keep all their belongings, etc, in the under-bed drawers. It would be absolutely fine for a family unit of parents and up to 2 children, IF the children were small or of the same gender if older (i.e. they would be sharing the small room). Another thought would be to rearrange the beds in the smaller room so that a small cupboard and/or some short of shelf/surface could be fixed. The open plan living and kitchen area is spacious and beautifully furnished and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The kitchen has every utensil you could dream of but would benefit from a small supply of tea towels - there was only one which we had to keep washing and drying throughout the week. We went to the small on-site supermarket to buy more but they didn't sell them. The flat would also benefit from a tumble dryer. We would certainly go back as just one couple but not as two couples.

Great stay and great location!

We chose the apartment because of its proximity to Holmestrand so we cannot comment on any particular activities nearby. However, the apartment was as described and has a great view to the fjord which is even more nicer if the sun shines which in October is unfortunately not very common. Steinar was very helpful in providing arrival and other useful information and check in/out was easy and comfortable. We would certainly stay again here – you have everything you need close by including a parking slot in the underground garage which is great. Just to note that there are constructions works nearby as the area of flats is apparently being expanded - it was not a Problem and we had no issues with noise or mud. Thanks again.

Excellent apartment and holiday location

We found this an excellent apartment for combining a relaxed outdoor holiday in beautiful countryside with visits to Oslo’s cultural, dining and maritime scene. Very well equipped, comfortable and attractively decorated on a nautical theme, we especially liked the large dining table – good for spreading out maps - kitchen area with plenty of room and cosy sofa by the window with stunning views of Sandebukta. Details such as a thermos flask, candles and outdoor rugs were appreciated. The apartment has good Wi- Fi access. The Co-op supermarket is a few minutes’ drive away (or you can walk from the apartment on the footpaths) and has all basic requirements. The area immediately around the apartment is ideal for rambling, picnicking and just watching the marina activities with easily accessible board walks, jetties, mini beaches and wooded headlands to explore. (Take a picnic to the flat rocks at the secluded end of the fjord) Above the fjord there are beautiful forest and lakeside walks near the village of Hof. Holmestrand and Horton are fascinating ports with lots to see and do. Sande has a good train service to Oslo as an alternative to driving in and the Ostbanehallen at Oslo station has great cafes and food shops. We took the ferry to Bygdoy where the highlight for us was going aboard polar ship Fram in the brilliant Fram Museum. The process of booking our holiday was very straightforward and Steinar was always available via text and email, (thanks in particular for the live traffic tips when we were held up on the E18!), welcomed us to the apartment and gave us great info on local walks. We would thoroughly recommend this apartment when visiting this lovely area of Norway and look forward to coming again.

A good clean & compact apartment for self-catering, with a fantastic view of the bay. Recommended for local sightseeing & we were surprised how easy it was getting to Oslo & back again in an evening with the car. On our short visit Steinar showed us kind hospitality, we were greeted upon our arrival & we shared good communication during the months prior to our arrival by phone & email who gave us good advise. The owners kindly let us use their Bikes - there are some fantastic scenic cycle routes from the doorstep but seen as this is Norway some parts were quite challenging with hills in places but it was worth it. Beautiful and well equipped apartment with amazing views.

This apartment exceeded our expectations. It is a beautifully spacious and modern apartment, not to mention warm. It is very well equipped and we found everything there that we needed for our week's stay. We were travelling with our six month old daughter and the owners very kindly organised use of a travel cot and bedding. We would definitely go back.

I am a Norwegian engineer living in Oslo with my wife and teenage son. We all enjoy travelling and love to visit new places.

We have a beautiful holiday apartment in a fantastic location overlooking the Oslofjord. We bought this place in 2010 and occasionaly rent it out to visiting families when we are not using it ourselves.

My favourite leisure activity is sailing and we own a 37' cruiser which we use as often we can. The Oslofjord is perfect for sailing with its combination of open waters and passages protected by a huge number of beautiful islands.

I also enjoy skiing when it is too cold for sailing. Oslo is surrounded by hills and forests and is perfect for crosscountry skiing, but also have some decent areas for alpine skiing.
