Log Cabin--Very Private--Over 300-Feet Waterfront

Quiet wooded and private lot. There is a large parking area, large dining table. Sits on a big lot with many mature pines and over 300 feet of water frontage. Lake Wequas is a small and quiet pond-like 'no wake' lake, lots of wildlife, we supply 2 kayaks, 2 canoes and a row boat for exploring. New owners (same family) starting 2022 rental season and we're making improvements constantly.

Only five miles from Gaylord means you are close to great dining, downhill skiing, and, of course, all of the great golfing that Gaylord is famous for.

Very Enjoyable

The cabin was just as advertised and met all of our needs. Two people in our group were good cooks and found all of the cooking equipment that they needed in the cabin. Although we went to the area primarily for the fall colors and it was too cold to thoroughly enjoy the lake, the location of the cabin and its proximity to great hiking trails, the view of the lake from the cabin and the fireplace made our stay very enjoyable.

Great fishing

My family of 10 stayed at the cabin for the second year in a row. Kitchen is well equipped, Beach is fantastic, and the fishing is amazing! My son and husband caught multiple catfish, sunfish, bass and even a 24-in Northern Pike! The porch is amazing to sit at and enjoy coffee.

Relaxing and great fishing

The front porch is great for relaxing with a wonderful view of the lake. The fishing was excellent and the use of the boats is wonderful. This was a return trip for us, so we really like it here.

Best Porch in town!

The cabin was great for our large family. Lake was great for swimming and fishing! We caught tons of Pan Fish, Bass, Pike an even a Catfish! The sandy beach out front was great for fires and star gazing. The Kitchen was well stocked and so was the BBQ. We can't wait to stay again!

Perfect Northern MI Stay

We had a wonderful time with family at the Marshall Cabin. Everything we could've needed was available to us. Shari and Steve provided the perfect space with a kind welcome package. Great lake front, perfect for our water loving dogs!

Amazing

This is the most organized and best stocked rental that we have ever stayed at. The house has plenty of space, we had 9 adults, and that front porch is amazing. The fishing was excellent and the use of boats is one of the reasons we rented. It was unanimous that we would all want to return. And for the group of us from the UP, the absence of bugs was heavenly!

A beautiful well maintained authentic log cabin.

We had a fantastic late summer experience, It's everything you could imagine if you want to stay in a log cabin on a quiet private lake in northern Michigan. We will definitely be return customers.

Family Vacation

This was our very first family vacation since my three children became adults and had their own families. This is a very exciting time for us and this cottage was perfect. It had everything we needed the linens utensils the grill all the amenities were perfect. The rooms in the house itself were really nice the grounds were wooded it was back away from the lake I had a nice fire pits kayaks a rowing boat tubes to float in. A great first family vacation the only thing that I would say I did not so positive know is the house was not as clean as I would expected. I walked into the kitchen and a cowboy hit me right in the face and notice other cobwebs around so it appears that some deep cleaning was very much needed. Otherwise this is an excellent home for a vacation

Amazing

We loved staying in the cabin. There was plenty of room for two families, and we really enjoyed the large porch with the view of the lake. We caught many bass and pike, and enjoyed the provided kayaks. I would definitely stay here again.

LeVasseur’s Get-A-Way

The weather was cool & overcast and it rained all week……but the cottage was comfy & cozy with the beautiful stone fireplace to take the place of the campfire. The covered porch was also a life saver when it came to kicking back relaxing and eating. We were still able to hike, swim, kayak & fish in between the rains & being 10 minutes from town was great for shopping, movies, bowling & eating out. We will definitely be back!

May 2021 Stay

First experience with VRBO. We enjoyed this cabin very much. Quiet, peaceful setting. Cabin is large, with large living room, dining room, several bedrooms and two lofts. Very clean and well stocked with dishes, sheets, towels, etc. Porch with seating overlooking the water. Two kayaks and rowboat. Water level in lake is quite high so no beachfront.

Northern Michigan at its Finest!

Very private and remote setting. A great "cabiney" feel with plenty of space for many people. There are 4 bedrooms on the main level (one BR has 2 beds) and there are 8 twin beds in adjoining loft space. Perfect for 4-6 adults and multiple kids. Not ideal with 8 adults (as we had) since the loft is somewhat limited for head clearance. But that was a small price to pay for the overall atmosphere, quiet and peaceful setting. Plenty of golf courses within a 15-20 minute drive. We were lucky with the weather in late September (mid 70's). Overall, northern Michigan at its finest!

9th Annual Girls Getaway

Our group of ladies has been getting together annually to catch up and laugh without the hassles of work and busy lives with our kids. This year we stayed here. The water level is high so there wasn’t a beach. But we loved our time on big floaties and tubes. The home is quaint and charming and we loved our time on the covered porch even when we were hit with some rain we could still enjoy the outdoors.

Family Vacation

In our group was 5 adults, six children and three dogs. The cabin was well stock with kitchen supplies (dishes, cooking utensils and towels) The cabin was great, plenty of room for us without feeling crowded. The kids had a great time playing in the lake and it was great to be able to just walk down the hill and you were at the beach. Enjoyed having a camp fire near the lake for a relaxing evening. The whole family had a wonderful time.

It was a memorable time for all our family members

Every year our family have at least one get together for camping; most of the times involve out door activities and sleeping in tents. This year we decided to rent a cabin. We glad that we found this cabin. It was very secluded and with private water front. The cabin itself is bigger than it looks and can house a large group. Our family has 19 people and we able to sleep comfortably. The kitchen has everything needed to cook any meal. Really like the gas grill and the charcoal grill because some of our member prefer the charcoal taste of the meat over the gas grill. The quiet lake is great if you want to take the canoes out just enjoy the calmness of the water. The children had a great time fishing and playing in the water. Only wish that there is more sand by the lake for the children to play. Overall it was a great experience and it was a wonderul cabin if anyone plan to have a group gathering. The owners, Shari and Steve are wonderful to work with. They even gave us a head up regarding the broken wall by the lake so that I make sure to keep a look out while the children are playing in the water.. Highly recommended and will come back again.

Wonderful Spot!

I recently stayed here for a girls weekend and we had a wonderful time! The front porch is HUGE and was definitely our favorite spot! I would highly recommend for large groups.

Nice property!

I stayed here for a girls weekend in July 2014. There were 8 of us and plenty of room. The cabin was very spacious, a little dated, but didn't bother me. The porch is amazing and was definitely the hang out spot. There was plenty of furniture for us all to sit out on. The views were beautiful and the property is nicely wooded giving you that privacy you want. There's a lit path down to the fire pit which was nice. We did use the paddle boats too. None of us swam in the lake, it doesn't look the cleanest, but I don't swim in lakes anyways. We did fish off the dock and caught nothing but catfish. We go somewhere different every year for our weekend getaway, and this place is by far my favorite for the outdoor aspect, it really is very private and beautiful. The cabin inside could have definitely been cleaned better. I wasn't bothered, but a few girls couldn't handle it and did some cleaning of their own. Also, the bugs were bad and they do get inside, which those girls couldn't stand either because they hate bugs haha. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again.

Totally Wonderful Family Gathering

Our family would just like to thank you for making our annual family gathering one of THE BEST EVER! All 20 of us, including grandparents, parents, and children, plus 4 small dogs had one of the greatest 3 days of our lives! It was so nice to wake up in the morning and see the entire family together for meals and such. All of us participated in the outside games and went swimming at Lake Otsego which had a very wonderful beach and swimming area...We would recommend staying at the log cabin for especially families who want to have especially the grandchildren play with their cousins that they don't see very often. This is a fantasic home with everything you could possibly want at your fingertips. The house, beach, fire ring and lake were all great. I went with a number of friends and we had such a great time we are looking to return next year. Also, everyone we met in Gaylord and the surrounding area were all super nice and very helpful. WOW! I enjoyed a long wee...

WOW! I enjoyed a long weekend with 5 friends in this VERY spacious cabin. We went in the fall and warmed up inside by the fireplace and football (has satellite) and a ton of great "fireside" books to read. We warmed up outside by the firepit. There is a back porch that runs the length of the cabin that is nice to hang out on with a beautiful view of the lake. We stayed up all hours playing games at the HUGE dining room table. This place has everything needed from pots & pans to great sitting areas. The only problem was when it was time to leave.
