Traditional family log cabin built in 1916

I grew up in Norway and Larsbu has been in our family for many years. We still use Larsbu but would like to shear the experience with others.

Ustaoset is a perfect place for hikes in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter.
All paths and tracks are just outside the front door! It’s peaceful and we have amazing views from the cabin over the lake ustevann.
If you want a real adventure you could take the train to Finse or cycle the Rallarvegen.

Larsbu is a unique place with lots of history. It was occupied during the war but nothing was damaged luckily.
In the summer you can park directly outside the cabin. If you are on foot and don't wish to walk up you can call the local taxi company at Geilo on number +47 32091000 which will be happy to help. It’s about a 20 min walk from the train station. In the winter months you can not drive up so you will need to contact the local man for a snow scooter ride or you can walk up. It takes about 20 min to walk or cross-country ski. There are car parking spaces by the local shop and petrol station which can be rented by the day. Please contact me for more information. We can also provide extra wood for the fireplace if needed. All these details will be available once you have booked. This is our old family cabin and we use it on a regular basis. We ask you to leave it as you find it. Should you have any questions please just ask.
Ustaoset has its own train station with direct trains from Oslo or Bergen. The cabin is also easily reached by road from Oslo or Bergen- just 3 1/2 hours from Oslo.
